Is that so? Do tell me why.Â
Because there’s only so many legal ways to wind down after a long day? Plus there’s parts that are similar to a Spanish soap opera which is always better than normal television.
Ok, that’s going on the list because I’m intrigued - I’m a journalist, I get intrigued easily - but I need to catch up on House of Cards before the new season comes out still!
Oh, I’ve never watched that. I usually don’t watch those type of shows anyway, though.
Didn’t mean to hit a nerve there, Deb; just making general conversation.
Family name. I’m not a big fan, but what are you going to do?Â
Mister Grant Ward doesn’t sound like a man who just does general conversation. What a nice change.Â
There isn’t much you can do about that one, amigo. Unless you wanted something like Catch Me If You Can.
Pretty faces are the story. Pretty faces surviving on their own are the story of the century. All we’ve got our ourselves. Pretty girls getting shoved aside.Â
Why that is, is the story.Â
I still don’t gotta story. I teach dance and cook food, not exciting at all.
Just Monkeying Around || Fitz &
“So I mean, what do we think?” He hung upside down over the couch, his fingers drumming on top of his chest as he stared at the opposite wall. He didn’t know what to think, hence why he asked for the other person’s opinion. Fitz was never good at making up his mind and sticking to it- unless it dealt with his family/friends. Then he was as stubborn as the Scot his mum had raised him to be.Â
It was a simple idea, really. One surgery, a bit more speech therapy, and he could go back to normal within months. It would be better than the stutter he had grown to loathe. And while he had yet to even really process the surgery or tell his mum about it, it was a fun idea to kick around.Â
“I personally don’ like havin’ ta be cautious in fights. Hittin’ ma head always happens- I’d ratha… ratha um, y-y’know. I don’ wanna worry abou’ seizin’ up an’ dyin’.” He shrugged once more before sitting up and staring at the person sitting across from him. “Jus’ give me your hones’ opinion. I wan’ thoughts, ideas, worries, everythin’.”
Debra was curled up in a chair beside the couch, not necessarily paying much attention to the world around her. She was on her phone, looking up recipes to be exact. But her alone time was interrupted when someone sat down and started talking. She assumed it was at her because there was no one else around. It was strange -- one of her coworkers being nice to her or well, not ignoring her like everyone else does. Which to her, that was fine because she was more content on being alone.Â
“I don’t know. Surgery is something pretty serious, amigo. An’ I’m not really the best person to talk about this too. Shouldn’t you go to like someone closer? A friend or hell, a significant other? But if you can’t then sure I’ll entertain this idea.” She had sat her phone down, turning in the chair before putting her full attention on Leo. He was a nice kid, sometimes cared a bit too much for her liking but that was how he is and she just have to live with it. Well, it seemed like everyone here cared too much. It was probably just the HYDRA in her that she didn’t necessarily see why it was important to have a big heart. Yeah, she wanted to help the world too but not get trapped in its guilt trip.Â
“Okay, let’s look at the pros and cons. The pros are pretty much the same, you get it fixed and yay happy life. The cons are more scary, the surgery might not fix it or you might die. I mean, I probably wouldn’t do the surgery but that’s just me.” Debra shrugged before looking back at her phone. She lied for a living and this was probably the most honesty anyone has ever gotten out of her. Color her surprised. Looking back up at him, “I’m sure there’s something we can do to help so that you aren’t being resorted to surgery. I mean, it can’t be that hard. Come on, let’s go brainstorm.” She stood up from the chair, tucking her phone into her pocket. Now she just had to see what he was going to tell her, if he agreed with her.
“I have a huuuuuuuuge list of TV shows to watch but I could add it on. Convince me!”
It’s about a girl who’s a virgin and becomes pregnant while still being a virgin. How that happens, you gotta watch.Â
Why? Nothing interesting has ever happened to you?Â
Sorry, but I sort of doubt that. You look like you could win Miss America. Pretty girls always have a story.Â
Pretty faces sometimes don’t got a story. I’ve been on my own ever since I can remember. That’s pretty boring.
Yes, that does sound rather… complicated. And dramatic. Not that that has to be a bad thing.
Depends on what suits ya. Though, I’ll say the dramatics is always better.
Debra? What – were you named after your grandmother? It’s a sweet thought.
Grant Ward.Â
My mother must have wanted me to have a more American name to fit in. I guess the joke’s on her. My abuela would have never named me this.Â
Grant Ward? Wow, such a fancy name.
…I’m sure I’ll survive.
Most likely, but it’ll sure be dull.Â
Worked well enough for the big, bad wolf.
Exactly who are you?Â
Debra Moreno. You are who, wolf?
I’ve never heard of it, dear. Is it on the Netflix?
Yes! Only the first season because I think they just ended the second one.
Selenis Leyva and Diane Guerrero attend the Weinstein Company & Netflix’s 2016 SAG after party hosted by Absolut Elyx at Sunset Tower on January 30, 2016 in West Hollywood, California
Really? It sounds vaguely familiar, but I don’t think I’ve heard much about it. What’s it about?
It’s a show about how a doctor’s appointment went wrong and this girl who was saving herself for marriage is now pregnant. So, she has to figure out what to do before the baby comes. It sounds weird as hell, but once you get through the first couple of episodes it’s golden.
“If you haven’t watched Jane the Virgin, you are seriously missing out.”

While there were no pressing cases to attend at the moment, nothing but research to build a more solid foundation in some of them now and a reason to put to good use the skills that could have seen her risen far higher in the law enforcement profession than her father could have ever dreamed Jen was on her way to a public records office. Dressed in her finest pant suit and heels she had yet to crush in a transformation the air was crisp and cold with a slight breeze not that one could easily notice walking quickly with the masses that daily commuted down the busy streets of New York. Her eyes were fixed on simply moving forward knowing the office wasn’t too far away from where she had been when the idea occured to her to research when she felt a force. A quick bump, a shove and then a near collide with a hot dog cart not too far away, body barely able to balance itself before smoothing down the front of her shirt.
Her hair was fluttered and glasses squeed to the side before she took them off, running a calming hand over her face doing her best to contain herself from the abrupt shoving she’d just experienced smiling to the other woman. “It’s fine - very fine. All is forgive, I’m not on the floor and you are very sweet” Jennifer sucked in a deep breath before noticing the gum stuck to her coat sleeve, carefully removing it. “I had no idea how that could have ever gotten there… Are you alright though? I hope you aren’t frazzled or anything”
Debra watched carefully how the woman put herself back together from the sudden impact. It was not like any other New Yorker she had bumped into. Usually, it was some sort of screaming match for her temper was never too far away. It was even worse when the person grew disrespectful. She could take anything thrown at her, but not disrespect. The end of the conversation usually ended with her having a bruised hand and the other person on the ground or at least bending over.Â
Being asked if she was okay did shock her for a moment, not noticing how she could’ve been injured as well. She quickly looked over her person and everything was okay. “Oh, I’m fine. This happens more than what I’m willingly to let on. I guess you can’t take the dancer out of the studio.” She joked, a light chuckle following after. Debra had never been a dancer ever in her life. It was a straight out lie, but it was the only profession that seemed to make sense with her skills and how she presented herself. Plus the girl was quite small. It helped more to make the story believable.Â
