I used to believe they would do much more of what they do now. Swords would have been nice considering both of their parent's backgrounds...

Two years... almost three, actually... and their combat performance was nothing more than basic... and then they were sidelined so others could take the spotlight in battle.

I don't know what to think... I'm hoping for the best (as always)..

but anyways..

but not even there we saw some of these? I think pre TS Mitsuki had that variety+lightning release, but we never saw Chouchou use hers(we saw her BM in the anime at least)

I feel a bit upset bc after what happened, one would think the kids had been training, but it didn't feel that way at all *disappointed emoji*

This was an old sketch I had on my PC. It was named "lap.psd" because my intention was for Mitsuki laying on Chouchou's lap, but I couldn't draw it well, and I was really into how Chouchou looked, so I didn't want to change it. The pic now is more about fighting with all their might and being glad they made it up in one piece(hence why they look trashed and with less clothes, it wouldn't be shonen if characters don't lose random pieces of clothing when trying to tank some crazy attack LOL) STILL I think Mitsuki would have loved that so I drew a tiny comic bout it(not another comic...)So maybe I get to reblog this with it.

Edit: Went ahead and edited Mitsuki's hand. It was bothering me :A:

As the comic ended up being something kinda different from the illust, I wanted to draw some ideas.

Mitsuki says Chouchou is out of character, but he hasn't experienced worried Chouchou XD.

Made sense to me that she wouldn't make a big deal about letting others rest on her lap, as she would do it usually for Inojin and maybe Shikadai, when they are KO.

The time when Inoshikacho faced Jura and had to leave Hima, it's the kind of thing that could have some weight on Chouchou's character. I wanted to make a contrast where she is caught in fear of the possibility of a death match(TBH it's reasonable considering the current gen hasn't faced any real threat until that point) vs Mitsuki selfless nature of throwing his life out without a second thought. Wish there was a moment for both of them to introspect about these things...

EDIT: forgot to add. this whole Omnipotence thing prob had some issues left in Mitsuki, as being really adverse to people changing, he prob feels more secure when his friends act the way they used to be...

This comic took me a lot of time to complete, more than I anticipated. I know my energy for mch things is not the best atm, sorry if some stuff is drawn really weird, on the regular I redraw multiple times things that I consider look weird, but I'm just posting it as it's first drawn... orz

wew a haul after a good while

Received some stuff in the mail I've been waiting for almost 3 months(boat shipping is super slow but cheaper). I said I wouldn't buy more merch, but collecting cards has been fun, also took the opportunity to grab some books I wanted and few items I had an eye on.

All of them got them by browsing Mercari Japan.

First 3 are from the Naruto theme park. These cards are nice quality, but the metallic finish is super prone to scratches. I don't mind, aside from the faint scratches, the cards are nice.

Middle 3 are from a set Studio Pierrot released. NGL I'm disappointed by the quality of these cards, they are very translucent... The listing sold two Akimichi fam cards, so now I have two xD

Lower 3 are from a promo thingy that happened way early when the TV series launched, I think? I've seen them for a while. Nice quality with cool metallic details. Some of them had dents, but nothing too dramatic.

I have a page dedicated to group cards, First and second are Kayou's promo cards. The last ones are again SP cards(look how transparent they are!! grr)

Close up to the family one, super cute but impossible to display correctly in this binder...

Most of time I have to buy bundles where I get other characters(I have some Boruto, Sarada and Shikadai extra merch stored. If anyone wants to buy them from me, let me know I would rather them be with peep that likes these charas)

Maybe I can show my card collection so far soon. There aren't many Mitsuki and Chouchou out there tbh(I have just 3 pages full and some of them are repeats xD) I'm also trying to collect official stuff or stuff with a license.

Managed to grab these keychains for cheap too, there is just a little bit of merch of pre academy mch out there... Mitsuki got a scratch on the cloud thingy, and I kid you not IDK why Japanese official keychains are like this? They are always printed one-sided (back is white) and with 0 protection on the back. If you were to wear this outside in a bag or whatever, the design would peel...

Anyway... got the alt cover for the Gaiden... Finally! I always thought they printed an alternative batch with this cover, turns out it was just a print that came with a WSJ you had to tear and place over your own gaiden copy LOL

The listing came with extra stuff I don't see myself keeping...except for the black clover folder

JOKING its actually a double folder for the Sarada Gaiden(Chouchou is there, so I'm keeping it.)

This was one a last minute addition. This booklet came with the limited edition DVD of the Boruto movie. Some second-hand merch is crazy cheap idk why. I think peep just want to get rid of stuff I guess? Because I found a listing of the whole thing(DVD+ all booklets) for a similar price I paid for this(like 3 bucks…) It got some early Kishi's sketches of Mitsucho, so I had to get it.

Finally my books

Life goes on by Kathy Lam(Dawning Crow) and Ikegami Yoriyuki's Artworks. Two artists I really like and have been following for a while. It's been years since I got any sort of artbook and since I was making the order, I decided to commit.

TBH I'm kinda glad Boruto isn't that popular, if not most of this stuff wouldn't even be available, or if it was it would be more expensive :p

Sorry, there isn't much here. I got disorganized again, though currently I'm working on comms. I was looking at what to repost on Twitter, bc if I don't move on that platform nobody sees my posts orz. And I got nostalgic for my wc work. It may look like I'm not painting as often as before(which is true :p Overall I'm not drawing that much either) However, last year I almost got to finish(missing 3 pages or so) this small sketchbook. It's full of random drawings and color studies I might revisit for complete illustrations. Ofc sometimes mch finds a way in my sketchbooks (just a few of them tho!)

This is based on an official coloring of the manga

I think it's just random, not necessarily how Mitsuki(similar to one cover Ikemoto did before) or Chouchou(that's her academy attire, while we know even during manga she was wearing something similar to what Kishimoto designed)would be dressing at the moment.

But got me thinking there is a chance, for a while before the TS Mitsuki would be going all dark and gloomy bc of the events ._. He kinda looks more similar to Kid Orochimaru that way, huh?

This is a repost of the Gangster mch comic I did back in... 2021! Why I'm reposting, you may wonder? Because I might continue it, and having it in parts is a huge pain(Tumblr used to have a 10-image limit)

I had some pages sketched, and I know what is missing and how it ends, my main issue was this annoying thing that happened in PS where the line would cut out because of memory issues(that's why the linework is so wonky, heck, even from the very first pages of this comic...) So I'm thinking of creating a new file exclusively just for new pages, hoping this issue goes away. Will try to have one or two updates for this, will take time but I hope just like the old val comic I get to conclude it.
