The portrayal of Kurapika in 1999

The character development in 1999 is what ultimately led it to be my favorite out of the two versions of HXH, especially how Kurapika is shown throughout yorknew. In the manga, 2011 and 1999, he talks about how disgusting the act of killing truly is. He even begins to question Uvogin, asking him how he can't think or feel anything. Kurapika himself seems clearly affected by this.

While it isn't unlike Kurapika to try and school his expression and keep his cool, I think the reverse fits just as well- if not better.

He's just as overwhelmed, and disgusted, but the action lingers with him for quite some time. The true weight of his actions are settling in, and he knows this isn't the end of it.
