—SIBBY.
She could feel the muscles in Eoin’s arm tense and she shot him a what she hoped was a calming smile. Slowly he lowered the his arm, still glowering at Prince. She breathed a small sigh of relief. She couldn’t have these two fighting. All three of them would be living together for a few days at least if Prince accepted her offer. And if Eoin and Prince didn’t get along she was worried about how he might fare with the rest of her new found family.
“I’m pretty sure a guest would welcome his host a little more cordially.” Eoin refused to back down, squaring up to the newcomer and Sibby felt her heart sink.
“Now, now boys play nice. We’re all adults here, there is no need for any silly rivalry. You’re both pretty.” She smiled stepping between the two, hoping the joke would cut the thick tension between them. Instead it seemed to make it ten times more palpable.
“Eoin this is Prince. Remember, you helped me look for him awhile back. He’s a friend.”
“Prince this is Eoin. His family were to ones who helped me finally get away. He’s my-”
“Fiancé.” Eoin ran a hand through his messy ginger hair and smiled pleasantly at her old friend. A small bit of hope crept into her, maybe they would get on after all. “So you’re the bastard who left her to rot in the dark with that creep.” On second thought, maybe not.
“Oh, so you recognize me as a guest, huh? Well, how about this— don’t go fucking pointing some cheap assed gun at me and maybe I’d have been nice.” He shot back, although was momentarily phased by Sibby’s comment. They were both pretty? Was this some kind of looks contest now? Because in all honestly, he lost years ago. Maybe he had a chance when blond hair framed his face, but now there was a hardness about him that was anything but ‘pretty’. “Fiancé, huh? Damn, sure moved ahead in life, huh Sibby? And here I thought you’d be marrying a toaster, although—” He trailed off and purposely gave Eoin a glance over. A full inspection as it were until he eventually met his eyes again and clicked his tongue. “Ain’t much of an improvement I’ve gotta say.” Finishing with a shrug and a smirk, Prince was assured that he had the upper hand still. He might have Sibby, but he wasn’t fighting for her in the first place. She brought him here, and all the time he spent hidden away was time lost in searching for the others who’d been captured. “Yes, I’m exactly that bastard. Sorry I’m not fucking psychic.” It was at that point that he shot a look at Sibby and let out an irritated groan. “If this is the welcome party, then I’ll be headin.”
