I am now reaching the end of an entire year of game development on the newly renamed ‘THE PRICE OF FLESH’.
In crazy times like these, I want to take a moment to thank everyone that’s ever supported me in chasing this dream. I’m very lucky, now more than ever, to be able to call this my career and to be able to work on it. Thank you so much!
I think it’s a good time to recap what is complete with the game and what is still to come.
To date, the writing and programming for the game is complete. There are 3 distinct paths and 50 different endings. Unlike the visual novel style gameplay of BTD, this game is turn based. Time moves forward as the player makes decisions on where to go, what to do, and how to manage their status. In every path, there are hunters- someone who had paid to spill your blood.
Right now I am currently working on drawing backgrounds! The backgrounds for Mason and Celia are complete! I am now working on the backgrounds for Derek. That means I’m about 66% complete on backgrounds.
After I complete the backgrounds, here is a list of my remaining tasks:
• Drawing cgs [ special event art that covers the screen ]
• Buying and inserting music/sound effects
• Beta testing while adding special reward content
I’ll be the first to admit that this has taken a lot longer than I originally expected, but I’m committed to making something I can really be proud of.
As for remaining time, I am unsure. CGs are going to be the major time-sink and will likely take me many months. However, I am 100% dedicated and I will never stop until this game is beautiful and complete.
Someday I’ll be able to show everyone what I can really do! <3
