"The only thing I have are memories. I have to be sentimental somewhere. Otherwise, I'd think I made it up in my head." Frank looks at her, not seeing a sign of anything. He didn't expect he would. Elektra played everything close to her chest.

He knew it hurt both of them when it came to how everything ended, but he loved Elektra enough not to pursue it. There were two roads and each one ended in bitterness if it didn't work out. He didn't have it in him to try again if it failed. It was better for him to walk away, but he won't lie to himself say it was done for the both of them. It was a purely selfish decision to protect himself.

"Following, watching." He added. "Would it surprise you if I said I want nothing? I just want to see you." Frank says with a hint of longing in his voice. "I'm being selfish, my version of it anyway."

His eyes drifted towards the pile of bodies behind her, finally. There's not a hint of interest from him. He could tell they weren't important, though. Every slice, every cut made with precision and no emotion. "Are you bored?"

He looked at her blood stained hands and held them tight, his were just as stained. A man who saw the flaws in the world and its failed systems. A man who watched the ones he loved most be slaughtered before him just as she had to once upon a time. They could have walked through Hell fire together and yet . . .

❝ You took that to heart? ❞ She remains stoic in her responses. Perfect and practiced restraint despite the wild desire to reach out and strike him. She wouldn't let him know how terribly he'd hurt her. I loved you.

𝕯𝖊𝖆𝖙𝖍 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖍𝖊𝖗 𝖜𝖊𝖗𝖊 𝖈𝖑𝖔𝖘𝖊 𝖋𝖗𝖎𝖊𝖓𝖉𝖘. It lingered like a shadow, never truly leaving her side no matter the time of day or not. It was there now. Just out of arms reach, watching the life slip from her fingertips.

Elektra had always known she would not die of old age. There would be someone there to have her draw her last breath. Maybe a knife in her back or across her neck. A rope around her neck stealing the air she breathed. A great fall from a high building. A sharpshooter putting a bullet through her skull. The possibilities were endless.

The floor is cold against her back. One arm is out stretched with twitching fingers she can barely feel. Death was not peaceful as the stories said. It's lonely, painful and oh so cold darkness.

Her vision began to blur, she could feel the broken rib that kept her lung pinned inside of her. With great effort, the assassin manages to roll on her side. She feels every inch of her body, hyper aware of each bone that was broken from head to toe. Blood seeped down her face and out her nose, still she began to crawl and pass the bodies she'd left behind.

A hand on her shoulder, she manages to find the strength to turn with small star in hand. Teeth bared, a dying snarl escapes her with hand pointing threateningly at the other.

Not alone.

It was strange how quickly she felt her body release the tension built up. Shoulders slump and she nearly falls back down to the floor. Miguel is faster, catching her and cradling him close to her. Death watched still from the shadows. She heard it's soft laugh, was it mocking her again?

❝ Escaped . . . ❞ was all she managed to utter. The pain was too much and heightened as he moved to lift her up in his arms. Somehow, she manages to keep herself from showing the level of agony she was enduring, shutting her mind off as Stick had taught her to do so many years ago. Not hearing a single word he had to say.

you guys have no idea how often i think about opening discord again and doing things there but i am legit so scared of using it again due to past experiences and never being able to meet people's expectations.

like before my near year long hiatus i had several people genuinely mad at me i wasn't replying to them all the time ( i was dealing with dying grandparents, innerfamily fighting bc of it, my dog dying, literal wildfire evac, and so much more ) and eventually blocked me on things and make vagues about me too. like...i want to have a quick means to banter, write hcs and have our barbies get to know each other i just...can't deal with the negative again.

i know this sounds dramatic but i was so over my threshold for a few years i left tumblr rp for the reasons above for a good while. i just don't like to be tethered to something either for communication. i genuinely like being left alone for long periods of time. idk sorry for the rant i just had a weird feeling of insecurity or something IDK
