GTA MARKET REPORT for March 2020. . The Toronto Regional Real Estate Board MLS reported 8,012 sales for March 2020, representing over a 12.3% increase from the 7,132 units reported sold in March 2019. The overall March sales result was driven by the first two weeks of the month (pre COVID period before March 15th), with 4,643 sales reported, accounting for 58% of the total transactions. 3,369 sales were reported during the post COVID period, down by 15.9% compared to the same period in March 2019. The average sale price of homes in the Greater Toronto Area was reported at $902,680, up by 14.5% from the same time last year. The breakdown of number of sales and sold prices reported for different housing types is depicted in the graphic below.
