Here is some good shit: Asian main characters IN A HOLLYWOOD SCIFI MOVIE who are well-rounded, badass and PROBABLY/HOPEFULLY GAY A Latino main character, played by a Mexican actor, with an unapologetic accent IN A HOLLYWOOD SCIFI MOVIE Of the main ragtag group of rebels, only ONE of them is white and Cassian literally tells her to check her privilege in being able to escape conflict - within an overarching narrative that is allegorical to fascism and Nazism in WW2 no less! A character played by a South Asian man who isn’t written as conniving, sleazy or selfish for once; who is strong and smart and genuinely good Forest Whitaker Representation of blind, chronically ill and, more broadly, disabled people, who still kick ass anyway and who are capable of contributing meaningfully to the cause. Women as pilots and in important positions, including the fleeting but noticeable presence of a black woman on the Alliance council - in a position of power MOST OF THE CAST ARE POC
