Following him into the room, she took a seat, patiently waiting for him to do the same. Indeed, given that she was a friendly face, Ironwood had asked her to gather more details about the two teams. Both him and her companion Winter were both feeling the strain of having to take action in the fight against Salem without Ozpin’s guidance. The stress, although he claimed was under control, could be seen just from body language alone and Penny cared for her other fatherly figure. “Fantastic! Of course she didn’t know their relationship, but Penny had only heard good things about her from Ruby and the blond in front of her undoubtedly cared for her greatly. Exercising some restraint, Penny would not talk to him about what had happened to herself or that night.
The knowledge wasn’t for Ironwood, but for herself. Penny had to know if her friends were doing okay– or okay to some extent. If there was anything she could do she would offer her services in any way. Knowing that they were at least somewhat alright was more concerning to her than any information she would learn. “Is there anything you want to talk about first? I am here to listen!”
On a more serious note, her demeanor shifted and she had to now ask the questions that Ironwood wanted to know. “I apologize in advance if I am being too forwards. Are you and your group a threat to the people of Atlas, Mantle, and Humanity?” It wasn’t an odd question in a time of crisis. The general was not one to take chances and he had to know who he could put his trust in.”Ruby had said that your team and her formed a group to get to Mistral. Was there any information to report from that portion of your travels?”
Getting data on what had happened seemed especially in Character to Ironwood, further more to use Penny for it, She was kind, innocent and unassuming. Not clearly paranoid like Ironwood was starting to show himself to be. At least that was Jaune’s assumption about Penny interrogating him. If somethings Relevant to what i’d like to discuss, I’ll stop and tell you.” He wasn’t gonna offer up more than he had to in this situation. He wanted to trust Penny, but the particulars of who and what she was made that a bit hard. She could promise him that she’d keep everything secret, but never would know if someone could, override that.

He was firm that they weren’t, even though at a point some would disagree. Then she asked for the details. A lot came to mind, especially one in particular ‘Oz can’t defeat Salem’ His mind rang out but keeping that to himself for now.
“Met a real nasty Scorpion Faunus, Messed us up real bad, Cut off his tail.” He mused. “Ran into Cinder.....A Hulk of a man who could shove dust crystals into his arms directly to tap into their essence.” He rubbed his chin trying to recall everything. “I don’t recall Cinder coming out of that battle, got the relic, Started on a train, then we had to split.. Made it to my Sisters place...” A slight pause as he remembered what happened there. “Then we managed to get up here....the castle on a cloud.” He ended. “Is there anything in particular you’d like me to clear up?”
