🎉NEW POST ALERT🎉 I first came across GG in 2011. It was purely by accident. I was scrolling across YouTube and I came by their song 'The Boys'. I recognised that the language was Korean because I was already used to hearing Korean from the Korean TV station GBS. I listened to the song because I liked it. I didn't think much of GG then or even know of the phenomenon that they were. After the song finished, I moved on to other things. Later on, I would come to find more and more of GG's material, and I would get to know GG's story. I was moved, especially after watching the videos - documentaries - that their company did of way back when before they were famous and they were documenting the journey, trying to get fans, and the poor girls were working like no one's business. Practising all the time, singing and dancing to the one song they had. Most of them were just barely out of teenagehood, and they had spent much of their childhood training to be singers in the gruelling trainee system. And most of them grew up poor. On top of that, at the time of their debut, boy groups were the ones that were popular. Nevertheless, they made it. Little by little, they broke ground. They earned the title 'Nation's Girl Group'. They paved the way for the other girl groups that followed them. I have learnt so much from following their journey. #gg4eva #newpostalert
