Not that it is necessarily a bad thing to be lonely. At least, sometimes it can be a rather beneficial way to get your thoughts in order. With two brothers, that has proved to be a challenge at times as it was so rarely quiet in our home. Oh really?

I really am. I do think it would be so very lonely to not have any siblings. Although, if you do not think you could be responsible for them, I do see how it might be a good thing you did not have any. Not that they are a huge responsibility or you could not handle it, but they can often be a handful.

I never said I was worried. I was curious, I guess. Yes well, I like to think I embody that lifestyle now. So, you have a brother. Tell me about him.

Well, I do like to think it is a particularly interesting way to spend such a day. Of course, there are times when it is still important to be punctual. I have two, actually. John is the one who is more all about being on time and things like that. And then there is Michael, who tends to be a little more flexible, and he is so very creative. But, John is so very smart, and oh, they are just the most wonderful little brothers.

Some of them aren’t as lovely… some of them are quite dark. I just try not to let those ones come to light. The darkness, though, sometimes it’s… it’s much too much… Oh! I’ll make sure you get a copy of it once it’s finished or even remotely close to finished… do you think you could proofread it for me at some point? Sometimes my grammar is awfully horrible.

That sounds... dreadful. I do hate that you have to deal with that. But I would be so very happy to proofread your work! It would be an absolute pleasure.

I think that’s something you should definitely pursue! I would love to write for children, if only I could catch my thoughts as quickly as they run through my mind. I think I might do just that! Some kind of ancient magic that no one knew existed… oh, this is going to be beautiful!

Well, if all of your ideas are as lovely as this one, I am certain you will be a wonderful children’s author. But I do know what you mean. Sometimes it does seem as though I have the most excellent idea, only to lose it when I finally do get to write it down. I am so looking forward to reading this story.

“No, she is extremely old fashioned. And I am so very glad she is only my aunt, because if she were my parents, I would be afraid that I might be subjected to such ideas. As far as I can tell, everyone is incredibly sweet.”

Oh, you do sound so much like my brother. So punctual and worrying about wasted time. Sometimes though, wasting a day can be a rather productive way to spend it. Besides, I do believe that it was John Lennon who said that time you enjoyed wasting was not wasted.

Well, that is what I want to do. I have grown up telling stories to my brothers, so my next great aspiration is to become a novelist-preferably for young adults, but I am not completely limited to that idea. Oh, but that does sound absolutely wonderful! Him awakening his own form of magic would simply be the perfect ending.

“School is most certainly not dreadful! It is wonderful, especially if you do get a good teacher. And it is so very hard to do things if you do not get a good education. I just do hate taking them out of class for any amount of time.”

I’m sure if you met her you’d remember, she can make quite the first impression. My mother didn’t want me to go at first, but then she figured that the school here was good and wouldn’t hinder my chances at a Russell Group Uni, so I might as well.”

“I do not believe so. When she says straight out of school, I do believe she means not going to uni at all. Of course, that is how she did things, so I do believe she just wants me to be like her. Well, I am awfully glad that you came, and I am sure that you will absolutely love it here.”

Both! Obviously, she’s something far more magical than he could ever be and she must marry someone who is as magical as her if not more magical than she is. It’s in the laws of the pixie kingdom. But even if he were magical, he wouldn’t be royal and so they still wouldn’t be able to be together. It’s sad. I think I want her to eventually change the laws, but I’ve not realized how to do that yet.

Oh that does sound just dreadful! Not the idea for the story. That does sound absolutely wonderful, but the fact they cannot be together is dreadful. Perhaps... perhaps there is something that could happen. Maybe her kingdom is in danger, and the human boy helps to save it? And it shows that he is worthy of her, so the law can be changed?

Alright. Well as of right now, it’s all about a beautiful pixie princess who falls in love with a mortal boy. Their love is absolutely forbidden though!

Oh well that does sound absolutely lovely. Why is their love forbidden though? Is it because they’re of two different species, or because she’s a princess and he is not royalty?

“Thank you, that’s reassuring, especially since you came from England too. I was always getting so stressed back home, my mother want’s me to go to Cambridge. Hopefully school will be slightly less stressful here. So, what brought you and your brothers here?”

“Oh of course! And I do feel like this school is so much more interested in giving us different perspectives from all over the world. I do think that is what all our parents want for us. Of course, my aunt would prefer I just get married straight out of school, but I do have so many other plans. My father’s job, actually. He was transferred here, and I suppose I could have stayed in London with my aunt, but this did seem like such a big adventure that I simply could not pass it up. What about you?”

“Oh, that sounds really interesting. I never got much chance to study Edgar Allan Poe in depth. My old school mostly looked at contemporary poetry and Shakespeare. The school here sounds really great, I’m quite excited to join - well as excited as a person can be for school. Do you like it there?”

“Oh, I absolutely adore it here! Of course, it is not quite as nice as my old school was, but I do enjoy this place. We study so many different things, and it does not seem nearly as stressful as school was back in London.”
