I shed a tear for this one.

Today I did a spell for my very good friend who has been having a hard time lately.  I have been feeling very powerless when it comes to her because I moved seven hours away and she is always in need of my support.  We still talk every day but it's hard because I used to SEE her every day.   She's suffered a lot of loss in her life and it's wearing her down very hard now. 

If you would like to say a little prayer for her please do :)  She could certainly use it.

My amethist burnt me

It’s new and I haven’t had a problem with amethyst before but this stone was strange. It made my fingers feel like they were on fire. I’m at loss to understand what happened or why. I think I’m going to cleanse it for longer this time and see how it goes. Maybe its just strong in energy. The burning eased right away with my magnetite ring. I sure hope we’re not incompatible because I have zero money and I just brought this.

What do you suggest as how to go about taking the first steps in converting to Wicca?

I think fully converting to Wicca is something that should be done only when you're fully sure you want to commit to it.  I suggest to just read all you can on it.  My favouite book for starters is Wicca for Beginners by Thea Gill and also Solitary Witch by Silver Ravenwolf is a must read.  After you've gotten a really good idea of what Wicca is all about, then you can either make a commitment to it or not, that's up to you.  Some Witches do a ritual/ceremony to "announce" to the world and to the Gods that they are fully commited to Wicca, but it's suggested that you wait at least one year and one day before doing this.  You can find information on it in Solitary Witch.

I tried my first real ritual the other day for the full moon.

I wasn't planning on even doing one because the idea sort of overwhelmed me.  But I got excited and decided to give it a go since my roommate was away that night.  Anyway it didn't go as smoothly as I was hoping it would.  My energies felt very weak.  Maybe it was because I was distracted or didn't really feel safe enough in the space, I don't know!  Can anyone relate?  I'm anxious to try again sometime soon but I also want to wait a bit so that I can get more in the zone next time.

Plans for the full moon on Thursday...

It is on Thursday right? 

I hope I can see the moon that night.  I live downtown Montreal so finding a quiet outdoor space is next to impossible on foot but I think I will be able to enjoy it anyway.  I'm also not going to do any ritual but I want to just enjoy the night and the city, find a place to sit, and write or draw outdoors under the moonlight.  What a time for inspiration to hit!
