My best guess is that people who aren’t from my island aren’t as accustom to the visages of Atua.” To her, all her paintings were rather normal, just better and more refined than those of her family and friends. They were crafted by Atua Himself, after all, she was simply the vessel. Yet, despite being so far away, she managed to have a strong connection to Him. The amount of creations she made proved that.

     At the prospect of showing him, Angie grinned wide, “Of course not! They were just about to be set up anyway, so you had very lucky timing!” With a few steps over to the sheet and pulls it off, showing off all her work with a flourish. Statues, paintings, sculpts, sketches… all of them seemed to have an odd aura about them. One that might be known as practically haunted. Not to mention the colors and shapes all seemed to feed into this disorienting feeling. 

     “What do you think? All were made by the guidance of Atua, down to smallest brush stroke!”

“Atua?”

Taro didn’t have a proper enough time to ask before Angie revealed her work, wondering about this Atua and if he should take her comment about luck seriously. Sure, he won the draw this year, but how did she know that? This is the first time they’ve ever spoken. Not to mention, her work... is as phenomenal as expected on first glance, but as Taro begins to step closer and give each little statue and sculpt and painting the time of day, the hair on the back of his neck stands on end.

... Huh. One painting in particular he couldn’t stop staring at. Probably because he couldn’t tell what it was supposed to represent with such an abstract design and bright colors. She’d be able to smell his confusion from a mile away.

“I guess it’s just coincidental timing?” he ponders out loud, having only been looking to get inspiration for his own booth. How is being lucky a talent?

     “Oh, how very kind of you!” She hadn’t expected someone to come to the festival stall so early! Perhaps he didn’t have anything to do, a talent that couldn’t be shown off easily, so he was walking to halls to see what was being set up. Her works were all under a sheet at the moment, being carried on a small trolley cart. “Sadly, museums have said Angie’s work is ‘too dangerous’ to be in a museum, despite the fact that everyone who sees it always has a soulful reaction to it.” Was fainting… soulful? “I post my work online, though! It may not give the same effect, but I do love all the support my work gets on there!”

“How can something so small be deadly enough that museums refuse to accept them? Especially from the Ultimate Artist?” Maybe these particular works were small and she often preferred statues and art sculptures and such, but personally? Taro failed to see the problem with letting someone express themselves, or refusal to acknowledge such a talented student’s livelihood. Was there a good reason?

“Would it be too much trouble to ask for a sneak peak? I promise I won’t spoil the surprise for anyone else.”
