* ย OOC ย !! ย ย ย ย ย ย i think about cosmoโs return to sonicโs world a lot tbfh ,, in my portrayal, cosmo had a very hard accepting the world around her, the first time she hugged tails after so long, it felt unnatural.ย despite how difficult it was to process everything, she decided to trust tails, and believe everything was happening, even if it really wasnโt.ย ย cosmo did not immediatelyย start talking to everyone though, as she developed selective mutism.ย itโs a habit she still struggles with, but itโll only will happen on very rare occasions, especially in stressful situations.
* ย OOC ย !! ย ย ย ย ย ย you guys have no idea how BADLY i want for someone to give cosmo a hug, one that last for a bit too long, one that slowly becomes tighter with each second, but not too tight bc cosmoโs very fragile.ย cosmo is insanely distant with everyone,ย itโs hard to grow a strong bond with her,ย even with people sheโs grown very fond of.ย
ย ย ย ย thereโs very few people that sheโll allow to come close to her ;ย itโs a defense mechanism.ย (if she doesnโt let people in, then nobody will get hurt, right?)ย ย depending on the person, sheโll either attempt to push them away, or go completely numb to the feeling bc itโs something she isnโt used to.ย ย so, yes,ย cosmo is very touch-starved, but has no idea how to handle these emotions.

Nobody asked, but iโm dropping some more lore abt Cosmoโs species, mainly discussing their prejudices/beliefs :ย
ย ย ย Before the war against Cascade,ย It was no secret that Cosmoโs species used to holdย certain beliefs regarding other species.ย ย โย ย That being their prejudice against the Animal species.ย ย This worldview was never really challenged before, not until years later.ย Itโs unknown how/when this belief developed, but it mostly likely because of Animal-kindโs perceived obsession w/ violence.ย Because, despite everything, were still a peaceful species, for the most part.ย Earthia, along with many others, including Galaxina, held their prejudice for quite some time.ย ย ( Earthia was a lot different, and deeply regrets this part of her life. )
ย ย ย At the early start of the war against Cascade,ย Information about Sonicโs world was spread to their galaxy, including the Chaos Emeralds.ย ย ( Those particularly interested Lucas, as itโs later discovered. )ย ย After realizing this revelation, and with careful consideration, Earthia had ultimately decided Sonicโs world was "an exception" to her prejudice, which would later evolve to other planets/species aswell, disregarding that mindset entirely very much later in life.ย Very few actually followed in Earthiaโs footsteps, which became smaller over time due to the Cascadians invading their planet.ย ย
ย ย ย As time went on, and losing multiple people in the process,ย Lucas had created PROJECT: META.ย ย It was only supposed to put an end to their 1000+ year war, though it developed into something more sinister as time went on, thanks to the hatred for Animal-kind.ย Earthia recalled the Project as anย โabominationโ,ย and wholeheartedly declined their wishes to proceed with it,ย so instead, Lucas had gone through with this plan behind her back.ย
ย ย ย While on their travels across different galaxies, and evading the Metarex,ย Earthia had came to respect other species, and their cultures aswell.ย She believed the Chaos Emeralds could help them find a new home, passing on her belief to Cosmo, which is how she knew about Sonicโs heroism and what the emeralds were, shortly after arriving to his World.ย Earthia did not want her only daughter to be like her past self, and therefore did not tell Cosmo about it.ย ย โย ย Which was not the only thing Earthia kept hidden, as she did the same in regards to the Metarex, since Cosmo was far too young to know at the time.ย
ย ย ย Cosmo was warned that the Animal species was still a mystery, despite having plenty of information about them, and to be careful, as some creatures still could be dangerous, but was still taught to be kind towards them.ย This would explain why Cosmo never told anyone her name UNTIL she met Sonic and asked for his help.ย Admittedly,ย Cosmo had only gotten a limited amount of details about Sonic and his World, which is why she finds themย โstrangeโ.

I always really liked how not only Sonicโs dark super transformation, but this scene in general, shows one of the few times where Sonic is truly vulnerable and backed into a corner. Just a mere couple of second agos he was being so blase towards a genocidal space facist, but that whole demeanor immediately drops the second he seeโs this dude holding his friends hostage. Seeing Cosmo terrified and Chris injured officially sets him off!
