Edit: I suppose I ought to clarify that I bought both Rebelle and Flame Painter, and all together it came to 32 Canadian dollars (so 24 USD) and tried both out with these two quick dinosaurs.
The watercolour brushes in Rebelle are SO COOL, it acts so very much like real wet paint, and you can do stuff like tilt the page to make it drip! I didnât draw on those drips, I just clicked the page tilt setting!! (and you can change the angle and amount of tilt) Very excited to try the oil paints and such!
For the wizard dinosaur I drew it in my usual Clip Studio Paint (also a one time purchase, which I like very much) and then brought it into Flame Painter and added the magical swooshy effects. A bit tricky to control, but I imagine theyâll get easier with practice. The one thing thatâs not so nice about it is that the brush looks like a constantly moving swarm of little dots, which can be a bit tough to look at, but I donât think Iâll be using this for long periods of time since it seems to be mainly fancy effects to add to stuff.
