Sesshomaru is actually laid back as fuck. The only time he gets riled up is when someone starts shit with him first or is Inuyasha. Otherwise the Lord of the West justs kind of wanders around aimlessly because, hey, he's practically immortal and has the time.

He didn't "hire" Jaken, Jaken decided to follow him and even got ignored by him for a bit before Sesshomaru was like "Okay...er...hold this."

Rin, and then Kohaku, also choose to follow him.

So you have this apparently heartless, destroyer-of-worlds dog demon being trailed by a two-headed dragonhorse, a yapping toad, and two children, all of which are endlessly in need of rescue. And he lets them. You can see all three of his little traveling companions dicking around constantly while he's pretty content to chill out in the shade and play lifeguard.

Idk where I was going with this but it's not an essay so eh

you know that at least once, miroku and Inuyasha were given sake as payment for an extermination, and they left their braincell at home with Sango so they drank it all, but they’re both lightweight little bitches so they got absolutely smashed

and miroku sat there at one point like “oh no, it’ll make sango angry when I come home empty-handed”

cue Inuyasha, laying flat on his face on the floor, just snickering to himself out of the blue until it grows to the point that he can’t breathe he’s laughing so hard, and when miroku asks what’s so funny 

he just rolls over and says “sangry” 

followed by the both of them laughing like morons until they both pass out goodnight

top five favorite anythings about inuyasha: characters, episodes, one-liners. anything

i went to town on number 4 <3

1. inuyasha and kagome shouting each other’s names dramatically. like, it is just. the peak of inuyasha.

2. sesshomaru “i don’t care about humans” adopting 1 and then letting another 1 tag along just because his daughter wants kohaku around.

3. my two favorite arcs that i’ll put as a tie here are the full demon inuyasha arc and the one where kagura decides, fuck it, i’m gonna be my own person you DICK and then doesn’t quite succeed... but it sure breaks my heart watching it

4. the first closing song. i love most of the inuyasha closings (more than the openings even? ) but this is firmly my favorite. the song is absolutely gorgeous, and it has some of my favorite imagery in the show.

kagome looking longingly off of that ferris wheel as it snows? sango praying at the graves of her fallen brethren?

kikyo walking into the water to drown in progression that looks like THIS?!?!

the autumn leaves signifying the natural end of her life as she’s walking willingly into the water- but then, you see her slight frown as she decides, you know what? i’m not done living yet and starts backing up. since kikyo deciding to keep on living her half life over and over again is such a major source of conflict and story in the show, seeing that displayed so early, succinctly and beautifully is amazing.

5. THIS SHOT like oh my gosh. it’s just so cute. it shows what’s so fun about the parts of the show that take place in the modern world while also showing why inukag is so cute. (the time that inuyasha wanted to live in a grocery store is also a strong contender)
