this may be random but I don’t know how to work Tumblr. I’m just finding any source that is against this possibility of sesshomaru and rin being together. idk how you can respond if this is anonymous but I just wanted to let some things out and say it legitimately makes me so sick and afraid that they might go this way just because they want to please fans who use Rin as sexual self fulfillment fantasy. I knew these people existed but I just ignored them for the longest time. So many sessxrin people in my experience are so incredibly toxic and have warped views on the real world. I just ignored it…. but to potentially canonize it, hurts me. since the news, I’ve actualy since thrown up twice on 2 diff occasions from all the sick justifications and gaslighting I’ve heard from elated sessxrin people. Inuyasha was an escape from my abusive childhood. my favorite part was sesshomaru’s crew since Rin came in because it displayed a kind side to someone we were made to think was a villain at first. now, it might be completely spoiled. I can never ever go back and replay it knowing where they’re going in the future. how could anyone with a sound mind rewatch their scenes when she was a kid knowing he’s going romance her, then put a baby in her in the future?! just how? I DONT CARE IF SHE’S OLDER WHEN IT HAPPENS, IT’S WRONG. He knew her as a child since she was 8, kept her close and safe for THREE years and kept visiting her frequently with gifts. it makes Sesshomaru seem so wrong, so limited, and so dirty as a character. someone said it best when they said they felt like sessxrin people don’t see how wrong it is because they imagine themselves as Rin. I just can’t with it. someone also said something enlightening to me, that the only reason why they seem so overrepresented right now in the support of it, is because these people who shipped it and personally wrote fan fiction and drew fan art, are the ones who have attached themselves to the fandom more strongly because of their fantasy of being Rin, so their presence online will be real strong. But if you could poll the average/majority of the Inuyasha fandom who don’t write self fulfillment fan fiction and don’t hang out in Inuyasha public forums, they are going to be more against it. with the pattern 2020 is going, with everything being as awful as can be, I’m so worried this will align with that pattern as well and Sesshomaru’s character will be completely assassinated. ___________________________________________________ I’m really, really sorry to hear how rough this time has been for you and I agree completely. I think a lot of people need to gain some self awareness on what they’re putting out there instead of trying to normalize awful and abusive behavior. All the advice I can really give is for you to block whenever possible and try to find levity in other places. Again I’m really sorry you’re going through this.
