raised by a loaded (family money) single father (casper van dien FC) in cape town, south africa after her mother left soon after she was born because they were young and her parents didn’t accept it. maeve’s middle name roan is a boy’s name but means “little redhead” and that’s exactly what she looked like when she popped out of the womb. 

it’s also her middle name because her dad did want a son so he kind of treated her as such; putting her on sports teams, mainly soccer. she still enjoys it but her dad kind of sucked the fun out of most of it. he loved her nonetheless though and spoiled the shit out of her with whatever she wanted; clothes, shoes, vacations, hobbies. she went horse riding for a while and did some theater, dance, archery and took violin classes.

when she was 15 she told her father she wanted to move to america after hearing a lot about it and reading that it was the land of opportunities. he could have easily said no and made maeve a grumpy teenager for a week but maeve was spoiled and willem de jaeger said sure kid. 

the duo moved to crescent harbor, washington even though teenager maeve wanted to go directly to new york or los angeles. her father wanted something a little more off, by the ocean, so they settled in sunstone beach, ch and she jumped into high school, hoped all her dreams would come true.

hard working as she is, with a very high GPA at the end of high school, she could go almost anywhere she wanted and finally moved to LA to attend UCLA and studied business. in her sophomore year she was scouted by a modeling agency and started doing some work that grew as the years passed. 

after graduating she spent some more time in LA doing a lot of modelling but also in other places around the continent, and even sometimes the world but always came home to crescent harbor to visit whenever she could. with her work she got into a lot of training and has done plenty ads for gym clothes and even collarborated with a company on a collection design

in 2017 she decided to juggle being a model with a program to become a personal trainer as she had gotten really into the gym vibe. when she finished it she decided to take a break from the bigger jobs and moved back home to crescent harbor in 2018.

although she mainly works at crescent fitness or does freelance PT work, she still does model gigs and leaves town for them sometimes but usually isn’t gone for more than a few weeks or even just days now and then. recently she was on the cover of shape magazine which also featured a small interview with her.

    A familiar face never failed to draw Maeve in, for many different reasons. With Nate, it was mostly to pester him; either roasting him or making him feel uncomfortable in various ways. She was the girl next door since he was about eighteen, she guessed, with a little bit of spice added to the trope, for sure. He hadn’t been home much for a bunch of years but recently he hadn’t left town a lot from what she’d noticed and there had also been a drop in his mood since that scandal with his father, and he’d still gone back to him? What a fucking loser. He was honestly lucky he was kind of cute, because what else had he got going for him? 

    ❛ Blackwood. ❜ Gripping the back of the bench he was sitting on, she leaned on it while drawling out his name like it was the plague but her smirk was vaguely flirty until she managed to catch his gaze and her brows raised, even going so far as to snap her fingers next to his face to get his attention since he seemed a bit out of it. ❛ Where’ve you got daddy dearest? You know I like to keep track of the Crescent DILFs, ❜ she teased, smile pulling at the corners of her lips. ❛ I’m only getting Whittaker tea from Elise, of course. And how’s that sister of yours? Meeting after meeting, Cass could barely keep track of names and most of the faces she’d seen had been forgettable. But now as she headed into a swankier bar with her entourage, she tried her best to remain in the present, turning on her charm when she could, though each hand she shook felt bare and weightless to her. The deal that she was walking into was a negogiation in the form of drinks and a light meal, something that she didn’t know was possible in a place quite like this. The modern tables and decoration made her feel like only the elite came here to unwind from swindling or planning some type of grand larceny.  She had to hide a grin as her mind raised with the aspect of the vulture culture she found herself in. Cass could tell the people present in the meeting desperately wanted her for the project but of course her clause always came with a hefty price. It wasn’t until she had been told that she’d be working with a partner that her eyes glanced over to the proposition, and she stopped short in her tracks. 

A brilliant stream of redhair, cheekbones that were delicate but looks as if they could cut glass, something in her eyes that made Cass’ mouth curl into a smirk. Thank god. She truly thought the town would have nothing to offer, but yet here was this bombshell in front of her, a physical manifestation of her prayer being answered. She only knew she had been staring too long when someone had cleared their throat but she didn’t let that deter her. She kept her stance held high, back straightened as she leaned forward to give the woman a kiss on both cheeks. “I’m Cassandra, and you are?”

   A new project was coming up and Maeve wasn’t anything else than a big part of it. She was the model, of course, and it was a big gig so she wasn’t going to let it slip through her fingers to have a say in the details. They wanted a second model and while Maeve was familiar with a lot of great candidates they had suggested someone known for something else; music. While the redhead had been pessimistic for a short moment until finding out what musician she might be working with, it turned around quickly when she’d seen the candidate; Cassandra Herrera. She’d approved immediately, pretending her word mattered much and then a meeting was called at On the Rocks; close, cozy and familiar yet high end if you didn’t count the local drunks looking for their poison. 

Walking into the bar with her agent and a few people from the management, Maeve was handed a glass of champagne on her way to the table where they were all sitting, including her. Although the dress was to die for, Maeve had a hard time not immediately imagining the singer in a savage fenty set. It was they job they would be doing, so why not? All professional, surely. ❛ Please, I am familiar with Herrera the pop star. ❜ she mused, quickly taking the hint and managing to kiss back one of the other woman’s cheeks and then bit down her lower lip as she took a seat in the empty chair next to the other woman. ❛ I’m Maeve. Such a pleasure. ❜

A half attempt at a laugh pushed through her lips with not much enthusiasm behind it. Maeve, if anything, certainly was entertaining - and hot. Billie’s eyes flickered back to the red head on occasion, now understanding she made herself at home in the seat beside her. Company was something Billie wouldn’t ever turn down, though she’d never tell a soul that, especially not Maeve. Eating with the energizer bunny was better than eating alone. “I usually get the burger.” She pressed her lips together wondering if her choice of unhealthy food would elicit a comment from the woman beside her. “But honestly a grilled cheese sounds good to.”

A very sight raise of her eyebrows let Billie know she heard the tiny huff of a laugh that pressed out of the other woman’s nose but she quickly let it go. Maeve was known for forcing friendships onto people; not because she always liked them that much but it was fun and no matter what the vibe was Maeve made herself fit in, without changing her energy. Besides, the two were in the same industry, it was a bit sad how it had ended up for the brunette though. They should back each other up, right? ❛ Burger? Alright, ❜ she beamed, grabbing the menu from Billie’s hands to scan the list of smoothies when Billie changed her mind and Maeve glanced over at her. ❛ Is that your final answer? ❜ she teased.  ❛ I’m getting the... Maeve - the cherry red hair matched the fiery personality. It was all a little much for Billie Davis, but mostly she simply didn’t care, because caring involved energy. She merely let the woman hover like a moth. The two followed similar paths yet existed in different worlds. Her success in modeling differed from Maeve’s, yet they always ended up at the same parties. Billie played along, but never approached, never initiated. She wondered why the other still made an effort. She knew how the other girls looked at her. She knew how the girl’s in the industry envied the way Billie blew up despite partying and her seeming disinterest in the fame of it all. She knew how people used her and left when they got what they wanted from her. Part of her always wondered if that was why Maeve took interest in her - despite Maeve being the rich popular girl back in Crescent. Her eyes flickered up, brows furrowing at the question.

“I don’t fucking know.” She shrugged, bringing her soda to her lips. “I’m fine.” Her eyes dropped back down to the menu. “Can I help you with something?”

Despite her answer, Maeve couldn’t tell if the other woman was really fine but it had actually been really hard to tell when it came to the fellow model, what mood she was in. With the redhead it was always quite obvious unless she covered it all up. Billie was rather muted most of the time, at least around her. They were really different that way but Maeve didn’t mind. ❛ Alright, I’ll take it, ❜ she said, waving it off. If she didn’t want to share her feelings right then and there, or ever, she didn’t have to.  ❛ Yes, I’m hungry. Or rather, I want something. To drink, probably. What are you looking for? My treat. ❜
