Lord, grant me the strength to throw away this box that i'll never use, the courage to throw away this box that i'll never use, and the wisdom to throw away this box that i'll never use
ngl I thought the puzzle piece as an autistic symbol meant like. I am a vital puzzle piece to your society. humans would never have invented half the things they did without us. you're telling me it means I'm missing something?? buddy. listen. listen to me reeeeaal closely. no human has all the pieces to humanity. no one. no one has all the features enables no one has all the strengths weaknesses or quirks. no one has a whole puzzle. we make the freaking complete picture together. that's the freaking point.
Neurotypicals are encouraged to reblog this btw but if you think I'm broken for being autistic I'll break your bones
Bringing this back celebrate autism and the vital diversity of humanity with me by burning Autism Speaks to the ground
I feel like I had a thought like this, but like on the other end of the spectrum hahaaaaaaaaaaa sorry
Idk if being diagnosed late was part of it or not, but I thought the puzzle piece was really cute for a symbol! I was like āhell yeah, I love puzzles!ā I genuinely assumed it was just an adorable thing to like have something to symbolize awareness/acceptance with.
The whole thing with nothing about us without us made SO MUCH sense to me when I learned what this symbol was supposed to mean!
I still wanna reclaim it and make it a cute thing again but thatās my personal preference lol
Accommodation I should have: someone to follow me around and whisper in my ear, medieval court advisor style, how to correctly respond when presented with different social situations
"My liege, that was a rhetorical question you just heard. Do not answer it."
*displays textbook symptomatic behavior of my own disorder that I am well educated on* whatās my deal why am I like this
love when certain autistic spaces are full of posts about how autistic women are just fundamentally different from autistic men and stuff like hypercorrectness, infodumping, "weird" special interests, bluntness, aggressive meltdowns, low empathy, etc. is all male autism stuff and actually female autists are never like that no us autistic women are all experts at masking in fact we're so good at masking that nobody can tell we're austistic and we all come off as just cute and quirky and overly nice and friendly!! (especially when the post is clearly framing the "male autism" stuff as "cringe" and "gross" and "weird"). and when i say "love" i mean i hate it with a burning fiery passion.
autism is underdiagnosed in women. the medical system has a bias against women. all of this is true. but there is no such thing as "male autism" and "female autism." any autistic trait can present in any gender. autistic women are just people, and like any group of people, we come in all different personality types. same goes for autistic people of any gender. also, bullying autistic people for being autistic doesn't magically become Not Ableist just because the target is a man.
can we just have, like, any feminist movement whatsoever. did everyone just stop caring?
feminism became a declawed commodified marketable trend and then trends changed and everyone just decided to pretend we won feminism despite nothing changing? despite things actively getting worse? is that what happened?
So Iām from the US and I think something else changed with the trends here, leadership. The ones who are pretending the most like āitās done now you had your time,ā are the political leaders around the country. Like, you can still see small scale feminism, but the main country leaders like regressed the country in terms of like civil rights(is that the right term for it?) issues.
What I mean is: I believe no small part of this problem is that some of the political leadership who were actually participating and/or lending their power to feminism got kicked out and are fighting to get back into those positions.
Thereās no such thing as work-life balance for neurodivergent & chronically ill people.
This is because everything in my life requires work:
maintaining friendships
keeping up with my hygiene
managing bills
making money
remembering my basic needs
sleeping regularly
outputting creatively
All requires some aspect of work for me.
And when everything in your life requires work, your balance goes out the window.
If you're neurodivergent and overwhelmed ā I see you.
If you're chronically ill and overwhelmed ā I see you.
You're not dysfunctional.
You're not incapable.
You're doing your best.
i cant get over the king charles portrait. they made that thing to age in his place. that painting hangs in the house of a too-friendly family you find in the post apocalyptic wasteland who inexplicably has a ready supply of fresh meat. if mario jumped into that painting he wouldn't find a charming platformer he would be flayed and hanged like a medieval criminal by an unseeable force in a droning red void. that painting is a color blindness test for people who work in IT but believe in the divine right of kings. that painting is going to weep the sequel to blood. after he dies charles is gonna crawl outta that thing like sadako.
this painting is what ultrakill speedrunners see when they close their eyes. if you showed this to the romans who flogged jesus theyd think this painting is excessive. this painting is the blood cavern from space funeral. it's the color out of space.
jegus tapdancing christ it is actually that bad
Donāt you know that red has more positiveā¦connotations thanā¦umā¦.
ā¦ā¦ā¦
Yeah no amount of color theory is saving this huh?
Shout out to everyone who is just so tired So so exhausted So very very tired so very fatigued so sleepy and tired So

do you ever see aĀ āhot takeā and youāre like ohhhhhhhhhhhhh critical thinking is a learned skill and op has not put in the practice
whatĀ āfeeling betterā can look like after using a coping technique:
beng able to get up and walk around safely
thinking/talking more clearly and lessening of brain fog
a willingness to re-engage with a situation/emotion (even with some reluctance)
ability to do a task you did not want to/could not do before
being able to plan and problem solve (even if you still donāt know what to do)
improved concentration/focus
more understanding of a situation
calmer and slower thoughts (rather than scattered thoughts/rumination)
slower heartbeat and breathing
faster heartbeat, if doing exercise, and momentum that gives you a chance to do a task before you sit down again
being able to sleep easier
an ability to look at the big picture and not get lost in the details
feeling that you canĀ āmanageā
ability to control outbursts/destructive behaviour or pause before acting
managing to stop crying
I think people tend to assume their mood is what will improve after trying coping techniques, however, your mood is not the full extent of your mental health, and it doesnāt totally define whether or not a technique has helped you. When disorders cause symptoms like chronic emptiness and low mood, itās worthwhile to pay attention to your body and your abilities to look for signs of improvement, which can then have an affect on your mood in the long term.
Yāall Iām healing my inner child with playing Splatoon 3 Splatfest rn lmao
Turns out that I actually DO enjoy some kinds of lower stakes friendly competition! Just not the way my whole gotdamned family conducted it welp! š

Itās true though šš
The reason vaginal atrophy in HRT is rarely discussed isn't because some nefarious boogeyman wants to transgenderficate all your pretty lesbian crushes into chronic pelvic pain it's because people don't give a shit about transmasculine reproductive health and you hijacking the topic for your detransition propaganda will only make things worse as you discourage transmascs from researching the subject and learning that it's treatable
"You'll live with chronic pain for the rest of your life is it worth it" casual ableism aside you're saying that as if vaginal atrophy doesn't happen to half of all postmenopausal people, what makes you think you're immune
Because I am on a mission to make sure everyone knows this and every time vaginal atrophy comes up, I will bring it up: Vaginal atrophy is easily preventable and treatable. if YOU are on T and you're experiencing it, PLEASE let your gyno/HRT doc know. They can prescribe topical estrogen which will treat the issue without interfering with your HRT! I've looked into it a LITTLE and over the counter phyto-estrogen creams seem to have an effect but IDK if I'd 100% trust them. Sorry, this is just super fucking important to me and literally everyone on T needs to know about it because when I was doing the research NO ONE brought up how easily it was treated until I looked into vaginal atrophy itself and found out because of how it's treated in menopausal women. When I talked to the doctor at planned parenthood she echoed this, too. That if vaginal atrophy starts to develop, I should just let her know so she can prescribe me topical estrogen to help! the fact that we aren't fucking told this is PART of the problem. The fact that we're told it's inevitable and untreatable is part of the problem. You don't *have* to deal with that pain and discomfort.
!!!
Topical estrogen won't affect your T levels either, from what I know. It will just affect the vagina, so you don't have to worry that your transition will be impacted if you do get vaginal atrophy treated. If you are worried about topical estrogen affecting your transition talk to your doctor! There's no reason trans people should suffer out of fear and misinformation.
This is true! Be aware that whether you can get effective treatments over the counter will depend on the exact pharmacy laws in your area -- for example, in NZ itās a prescription-only medicine (but prescriptions are subsidised so this isnāt too bad).
This matters because thereās a bunch of products out there that claim to treat vaginal atrophy, including lube and āvaginal moisturisersā, which donāt have the estrogen in them that makes it work properly. Youāll probably get some relief from the moisturising but it wonāt be reversing the atrophy. These products are available over the counter and one is directly shilled by Buck Angel lmfao so it can be tempting to go for them rather than going through the hassle of getting a script, but please, if you can, get the prescription stuff that works the best ^_^
I'm always saying dictionary-ass bullshit like "heretofore" and "by dint of" and I'm always so paranoid that it sounds like I'm being pretentious but I promise this is how I talk and I really am just a freak
