Something like an About/FAQ
I do have a real, non-Cardassian Goodreads. If you're a longtime trusted mutual, feel free to hit me up on DM and I'll probably give it to you. I've gotta be picky since it's an author account so it uses my real name+photo, but I do like sharing my book opinions and seeing all of yours. Apologies that I am not, in fact, a reptilian alien from the Space DDR.
ETA: Another housekeeping thing: I block blank blogs. If you are new to Tumblr, pick an avatar and fill out a basic description or something before following people, to make yourself look less suspicious. Blank blogs are often bots or attempts to circumvent blocks, so a lot of people block them on-sight. Don't let it happen to you!
Second edit: This is happening enough and it's annoying enough that I'm putting it in here. If you’re a white European and you’re planning to reblog one of my antiracism posts to say “this doesn’t happen in my country” or “race is a U.S. thing” or something similar, save us all the headache and read this (the last reblog) first.
Third edit: My CW/TW tagging policy is here. (Another link if first is broken on mobile)
Fourth edit: I do not research the OPs (original posters) for everything I reblog. If there's something about an OP for a post I reblogged that is relevant to the post in question that you think I should know, feel free to shoot me an ask or message about it. Alternately, if someone I reblog from is such a terrible person that they shouldn't be engaged with at all (for instance, they are a member of a hate group), same deal, I would like to know that and yeet them from my dash. But I need to see examples of them being X thing you're accusing them of or I'll just ignore your post (especially if you're not a longtime trusted mutual). Being on a blocklist, callout post, shinigamieyes, etc. is not an "example" on its own; we all know assholes on here lie about that shit constantly and/or have very unusual definitions of what words mean. What I mean is that if you're accusing them of being bigoted, for instance, show me the posts on their blog where you believe they're being bigoted! Or whatever it is. But respect me enough to let me make up my own mind about it!
Fifth edit: I don't reblog or post asks of gofundmes and other personal fundraisers unless I personally know the person behind it and that they're telling the truth about what's happening and where that money is going. We all know that weepy fundraisers about dying pets have been a longtime scam tactic on this site. This goes just as much for stuff about Gaza: we know that there are actual scammers sending some of these out, but also even most of the supposed "vetting" blogs aren't being very upfront about how they're doing that and are still asking you to put your trust in an individual Internet stranger. I will instead promote legitimate organizations that vet these like Operation Olive Branch. I would even more strongly encourage people to consider donating (as I have) to a non-profit who are on the ground in Gaza like PCRF, Anera or Save the Children, who are able to make your dollar go further and help even more people.
Sixth edit: For another one in the file of "arguments I'm sick of having" like #2, my answer to "why do you think Cardassians are Soviet-coded?" can be found here.
Seventh edit: The fact that I often post long-winded rants about bad discourse on here does not mean I am a "react blog." I am not interested in asks (other than from the occasional trusted mutual) that consist of "look at this bad take someone has somewhere on tumblr!" or otherwise in the spirit of wanting me to get mad about something dumb you found. Especially when more than a few seem like they want me to take heat for something they're afraid to post themselves. Even if you don't intend that and you mean well and all that, please just make your own post and leave me to get annoyed at stuff I find on here on my own :)
