ok listen. just hear me out. hxh gang as pokemon trainers

gon would like normal, grass and fighting types. people are scared of him because he can somehow walk right up to a bewear and hug it without getting killed on the spot. he probably has a buneary on his team, as well as the aforementioned bewear. he’d also have crazy good shiny luck

killua would of course like electric types, but also ghost types since i feel that the whole zoldyck family would have them. he’d definitely have a gengar that was bred for competitive battles. idk how he’d get one, but zeraora would be a perfect match for him. i can see him with an alolan meowth/persian as well

leorio probably wouldnt be a trainer per se, but someone that helps out at the pokemon center. he didnt have a pokemon partner growing up but he cant help but become attached to the newborn happiny that he helped hatch. he was ecstatic when they let him keep it (but of course, on the inside, bc he has an Image to uphold)

kurapika....oh man. he has a phantump that he’s way too protective of and never really talks about. he’s wary of bug types for obvious reasons. his partner would probably be an urshifu, single-strike style. or maybe an absol... i just get a lot of dark type vibes from him. i think medicham would be a good match for him as well
