Jared knew he just had to let his guard down and be himself, let the world see what he felt for Vince. “I’m going to try my best.” That was something he meant, something he could agree to. He would try his best to be the person he knew that Vince deserved for him to be. “Yeah I’ll be closer to the two most important people in my life.” Vince and Candice were the people he was closest to and getting the chance to see both of them more was a positive that was for sure.

“I know you are going to, I have faith in you. And I believe that your love for Vince will be enough.” Candice assured Jared, he was a good guy and she wanted him to know that. It was exciting to know that he was going to move into the apartment, she liked having him around. “Aww, you are so sweet, we should get together...the three of us and have dinner and party.” She smiled.

Jared nodded his head again, “I would Vince.” He had never thought about wanting to live with someone before Vince but he was confident in his agreement to do so. “I love you too. I have for a while now and I can’t wait to be able to fall asleep and wake up to you each and every day.” He’d never wanted to let someone so close before and yet here he was and he couldn’t be happier.

Vince was so happy, he never thought this day would come. As much as he knew Jared cared about him, he knew the inner struggles that he had inside him, and he didn’t think it would come to this but here they were. “Jared I want you to know that I will never force you to do anything, and we can still move at your pace. I love you so much and I want things to just keep better and better, so there is no need to change anything but your address.” He smiled.

“It’s quite cool. Mindblowing really,” Theo could gather from the other Porter’s shock that he didn’t understand why Theo was living in the Arbors. “So, getting to stay here at the Arbors will help me being grounded.”

“What style of music?” Theo then asked, being interested. While he wasn’t himself a musician, music was still a big part of his life. 

“I can imagine, I mean if I was in a huge movie my mind would be blown all the time.” Slade laughed, and then looked at Theo when it seemed like he was reading his mind. “I guess it could, because I know for me I don’t plan on treating you any different.” He laughed.

“A little bit of an R&B, funk, rock fusion.” He tried to explain, “It’s very eclectic sounding, but in my opinion, it’s pretty amazing. Maybe one day you could come to one of my gigs and hear me play.”

Jared loved it when Vince would distract him, he loved the way Vince made him feel. He had never felt this way about anyone before and he knew Vince was his forever, he just had to be able to let everyone else see that. He continued to kiss Vince, pouting a little when he pulled back. Though the question took him by surprise and right away the pout turned into a smile and he nodded his head, “I would love nothing more than to move in with you.” The prospect of seeing Vince all the time was more than he could ever ask for and he knew he wanted to fall asleep and wake up next to the other male.

Vince had been thinking about asking Jared to move in for a while now, but he was too scared to ask him. He didn’t know if he wanted to push the relationship to another level, but hearing Jared say yes made the hugest smile come across his face, “You would?” He pulled him in for the deepest kiss, it was full of passion and love because he knew he was madly in love with Jared. “I love you so much Jared, and I can’t wait to be in the same space with you all the time. I am the happiest when you are around.”

Jared nodded his head, he knew she was right and he wished it was as easy as she was making it seem. He was trying, there was no doubt there, but it was a hard road one he was going to have to get used to. “You make it sound so easy but I don’t even know where to start.” He paused for a moment as he looked at her. “Well I guess I kind of do. He asked me to move in and I said yeah so maybe actually moving my stuff in is a place to start?” Phrasing it as a questions wasn’t necessary since he already knew the answer.

Candice knew this was so hard for Jared and she felt bad for him that he had to go through this struggle. He loved Vince, so that should be enough, but it was a lot more complicated for him. “I’m not trying to make it sound easy, just giving you the guidelines that you need to express your love for him and make him not your closet lover.” She was stunned hearing that Vince asked him to move in, and he said yes. “That’s amazing! You’ll be living here! And not just for Vince, but I can see you more often as well, so this is a great thing. It is definitely a step in the right direction.”

Jared chuckled and looked at his boyfriend, “what can I say? You’re just a very distracting person.” He kissed him deeply loving the time they were spending together, he loved all the time he got to spend with Vince, it was all perfect to him. He let his hands run down the other’s sides moving to kiss his neck, he wanted to make the other feel as perfect as he felt in the moment.

Vince could only laugh at Jared’s comment, “I’ll own that, I like distracting you.” He would never get enough of kissing Jared, it was what he loved the most when they were alone together. He knew he needed to be patient and let Jared figure things out, but he had moments of wanting more, and this was one of those moments. Everything felt so good, and the sounds of their kisses filled the room. Vince pulled back and looked Jared with the utmost sincerity in his eyes, “Move in with me.” He blurted out not knowing how Jared would feel about that, but he missed him when he was gone, and although they didn’t live too far from one another, it was still bad. He wanted him close to him.

Jared let out a soft chuckle as he looked at her, “I don’t know. Maybe you had a date before a hook up. I don’t know your life.” He laughed as he said it keeping his eyes on her for a moment while he listened to what she was saying. “I just wish I could give him everything he deserves. How do I move past it all so I can just give him everything he deserves?” He sighed for a moment and looked down again, “Vince is worth everything. I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. I can actually see myself building a life with him and I know he deserves the world.”

Candice knew that Jared knew more about her than he was letting on, but she wasn’t going to make this about her, he needed a listening ear and she was going to be that for him. “You can, all you have to do is try really hard to get out of your own head. You can’t live by what other people expect from you. If Vince is everything that you say he is to you, then there is your answer. Fuck the outside opinions, follow your heart and give the man you love all of you, inside and outside of your four walls.”

Jared shrugged, “I don’t know you could have had a hot date or something.” He managed a small smile at her words, “you make a valid point there.” He liked that they could talk to each other like they were, she was one of the only people he trusted other than Vince. “I know that and I’m not ashamed of him. If anything he’s the best thing to have ever happened to me. I just,” he looked at her for a brief pause before he looked down at his hands. “My whole life I’ve been taught that a man being with a man is wrong and that a man should be with a woman. My dad would make comments every single day about it. And I know it’s stupid and that people can be with whoever they want but there is this little voice always in my head.”

Candice gave him a “boy please” look, “Come on J, you know I don’t date, I have hookups.” She joked even if it was true. She wasn’t one to sugarcoat things. She listened to Jared talk about his upbringing and she could understand his reasoning, it was something she had to deal with for becoming a stripper. “I know that Jared, and it is a lot to get past, but we have to put our parents out of our heads. You are an adult, living in your own place, paying your own bills. He can’t control what you do. I had to do the same thing, my mom and dad were really conservatives and would die if they knew what I did for a living, but I refuse to let them control me, so I am doing what I want and come to find out I am really good at it.” She smiled and took his hand in hers, “You have to decide if he is worth taking back that control.”

Jared smiled and moved to get comfortable on the couch before pulling Vince into his lap. He would at least actually pretend to watch the first maybe five minutes of the movie. Okay so maybe he didn’t last that long before he was running his fingers along Vince’s back, his eyes on his boyfriend rather than the movie.

Vince loved when Jared would pull him into his lap, it made him smile so hard. He could feel his fingers going up and down his back as he tried to watch the movie. He could feel Jared's eyes on him, "You are really bad at pretending to watch a movie." He said without taking his eyes off the screen, but the smile spreading on his face showed he was enjoying it very much.

While Vince was gone Jared ordered the food and gave his credit card information so it could be paid for before it was delivered. Once it was ordered he moved to sit on the couch, smiling with his boyfriend reappeared. “I’m more than ready to pretend to watch a movie.” He looked over at Vince hearing the statement and nodded his head. “I know. And I promise you I am trying. I want to be with you so badly and you make me so happy. I don’t know what is wrong with me but I am trying.” He let his eyes meet Vince’s and he moved to kiss him deeply to show him that he truly meant what he was saying.

It was moments like this that Vince knew in his heart of hearts that Jared was the one for him. No matter how hard things got they always found a way to make it right and this was no different. As hard as it was for Jared to be open in public, Vince knew that how he acted in private was his real self. He melted in his kiss and kissed him back to show that he knew he was serious about what he was saying. Once he pulled back he looked in his eyes, "Now let's get to watching this movie." He smiled and clicked on the movie.

Jared nodded his head, "I’ll be able to keep my word in this situation.” He wanted to be able to show Vince how much he wanted to be with him. The truth was when they were alone he had no problem showing Vince just how much he wanted to be with him, it was in public he had a hard time with it. He couldn’t even bring himself to hold his hand and Jared hated himself for that because he knew Vince deserved so much more than that. Jared opened one of the menues to look over it with a nod of his head. “I’ll order quickly so we can get to pretending to watch the movie.” He moved to kiss Vince on the cheek before pulling out his phone. “Though you know you can wear just the robe and I won’t complain.”

Vince believe Jared, he knew that he was really trying to make an effort, but he still had some ways to go. He wasn't going to focus on that, all he wanted to do was focus on the present. He leaned in and kissed his cheek, 'I know you will." He got up to go and put on some clothes, "Make sure you get me some lo mein noodles." He winked and headed into the room. He put on a pair of pants and a t-shirt and headed back out to meet Jared on the couch. "So are you ready to pretend to watch a movie?" He laughed and plopped down next to him putting his hand on his leg. "For the record you know I know that you're trying right?" He wanted him to be sure that he was aware of these issues and how hard it was for him to be open.

Jared had to admit he loved seeing Vince smile, made him light up himself and he couldn’t stop the smile from spreading again. “What if I’ll have you forever?” It was the first time he had said anything even close to spending their lives together but he did mean it. He couldn’t see himself with anyone but Vince and he didn’t want to even try. He kissed Vince again, “the whole point is it’s something we have seen too many times so when we just pretend to watch it then it’s all good.” He watched the other get u and grab menus. “I think I might be feeling Chinese today if that’s cool?”

Vince looked into Jared's eyes, to see if he meant what he was saying. "That's q bold statement sir, and you might not want to say things like that if you can't keep your word." He wanted him to mean that so bad, but he couldn't fully give himself over to him until they were able to be together outside their homes. He accepted the affection from Jared, but he would be lying if he didn't admit to wanting more. He melted into the kiss from Jared and smiled, "I get the concept, and that is why I will happily "watch" Goonies with you." He nodded when Chinese was chosen, "You go order and I'll put on something other than this robe." He smiled and tossed Jared the menus.

Vince had been the first person Jared had ever trusted to not hurt him, the first person Jared had handed his heart to. Sure he had dated multiple people over the years, okay multiple women, but he had never given his heart to any of them. No that was something he kept well guarded and had only let the walls fall for Vince. Jared nodded his head at the words. “I like being happy with you Vin.” He bit his bottom lip gently but that quickly turned into a laugh when Vince told him that he could pick the movie, “it’s got to be something cheesy that we’ve seen before that way neither of us will be mad about only pretending to watch.” He thought for a moment, “what about something like the Goonies?” It had been one of his favourite movies as a kid and he had seen it about 40 times. “You know I can always eat,” he chuckled and kissed Vince again.

Smiling was something that seemed to happen more and more when Jared was around. He had a way of making things better with Vince, it never got old to him having him around. They have gone through so much in their past and he knew how guarded Jared was. It was something that they struggled with in the beginning, but now all of that was behind them and only happiness was in the future. "I know you do and I will always do my best to keep you happy as long as you'll have me." Vince knew for sure that Jared was the one for him, but he needed Jared to see that as well. "Goonies? That is a movie we've seen so many times babe, but I like the way you think because I won't be sad if I missed the ending." He laughed and got up to grab some menus, "So Chinese or Thai?" He held up both menus.
