A slight breeze wafted through the air, the smell of a roast and herbs stuck to the natural scent of the grassy air. Narcissa knew it was coming from the Black Manor about a kilometer away, for she had indulged herself with food before Andromeda and she came here. Snuck out to be more precise. The Black’s had made a feast in honor of her middle sister’s entrance to Hogwarts, for they had done for the generations before them. Narcissa knew that when her day would come it would be the same, and she hoped that they’d prepare her favorite dishes. A silly thought, but it was on her mind.
The young blonde, who celebrated her ninth birthday a few weeks back, was staring up at the stars. She had always been fascinated by them, and even a bit envious. For everyone in the Black family had been named after a lumination that appeared after nightfall. Everyone, except for Narcissa Black. It is said that she was the first Black not to be named after a star or constellation since Phineas Nigellus Black, her ancestor.
A light breeze lifted the ends of the pink dress that her mother had picked out for her, for mother had always said that pink complemented her. Narcissa turned to face her sister, and saw that she was face to face with her. As a smile crept onto her lips, she admired Andromeda. Narcissa always admired her, and thought she was beautiful. Oh, how many times had she wished that she could be more like her, to have that pure Black beauty? Alas, Narcissa looks nothing like her family, and it’s something that she must accept.
“The Great Hall? I don’t think so. For in the Great Hall there wouldn’t be this wonderful air, and cloud-like grass,” Narcissa said as she turned on her stomach, head turned towards her sister. The young blonde giggled along with her sister, and answered her, “That’s sounds like a probability.” Bellatrix always talked about Hogwarts, but for Narcissa it always seemed like a lifetime away. Also no matter how many times Bella would talk about Hogwarts, it seemed unreal to Narcissa. That it was fictional, that moving staircases, a ceiling that projected the night sky, hidden rooms, it all seemed like something out of a bedtime story.
Narcissa picked at the dandelion that was in front of her, and with a single blow all the “fuzzies”, as she liked to call them, flew with the breeze. She had made a wish, of course, her eyes still shut tight. Narcissa wished that everything would stay the same that no one would grow older and leave. Though that was a childish wish, but it is what she wanted.
As Andromeda’s finger came around and poked her shoulder, Narcissa with a swift movement grabbed her sister’s hand, and held it tight. “Of course I'm excited, but the best day will come when I'm the one who's joining you," she said with a bright smile. Of course she was sad that her sister was leaving, but the young blonde tried not to concentrate on that rather she wanted to be in the moment she now, for now she was happy. "The house to myself, I'm so excited. Now I don't have to hear your snoring from the other room," she said with a giggle.
Narcissa gazed up at the sky again, and with her free hand she pointed to a certain constellation. "There you are Dromeda," the blonde said excitedly and she glanced at her sister once more. "Your so pretty up there in the sky," she continued and then sighed," I wish I was in the sky too."
