Elle: 3D-printed swimming leg prosthesis
Della Tosin, a participant of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, developed and designed an impressive 3D printed prosthetic swimming leg device.
“Elle is a combination of a prosthetic leg and swimwear that is designed to assist single-leg amputees to compete with able-bodied swimmers in competitions and to optimize the amputee swimming experience by achieving balance, maximizing energy return of launch off and flip-turns, and supporting the body.”

It’s exciting to see how many biomimicry projects are currently being developed for health applications. Reminds me of Klippa - the mountain-goat inspired prosthetic leg for rock climbers.
