He huffed, rolling his eyes as Leo mentioned the punch. “I’d appreciate it if you refrain from bringing up that incident.” Even though he tried to brush it off, it was clear that he was still bothered by the time that happened from his slightly nervous tone. The punch had been painful, of course, and took a while until it had stopped feeling sore. He had to gather up all of his papers off of the ground while still feeling the dull ache throb in his midsection, and that was not fun. Not to mention the thoughts that went through his mind at the time.
Berdly noticed that Leo had been staring at him a bit. That just made him all the more uncomfortable. But he noticed that surprised look his classmate had began to fade away, and Berdly responded to Leo’s words with a simple shrug. Again, he was aware that he didn’t apologize to people often. He normally felt like he didn’t need to, because he was always right, after all. But he wasn’t. He especially wasn’t right to put the blame on someone who didn’t deserve it. He had tensed up a little at the shoulder pat, but it seemed to have been done as a form of reassurance, so he relaxed slowly.
It was Berdly’s turn to be surprised. He looked at Leo, “Well, uh… In all honesty, I wasn’t expecting you to just forgive me so quickly. That, uh, certainly makes it easier.” Then he glanced away again, “Still, I suppose I might as well offer. If there’s anything I could do to make it up to you somehow, well…”
“It makes it easier, I know, but it was super minor situation blown out of proportion from both sides being heavily irritated..I saw this all the time when I was with my parents. They weren’t exactly the best couple or parents if ya didn’t know, its why I kinda live alone now. Old enough to fend for myself ‘n’ such..” Leo paused for a moment before continuing..
“But, nah you don’t have to do anything in return to make up for it. You already stress yourself enough with your school work even though its not that necessary to overwork it. Kinda makes me wonder, is it truly easy for you..or do you struggle? I’d understand if you do and are just trying extra hard.” Bit of stretch, but Berdly to him doesn’t seem the type to struggle on anything but its high school work. They do tend to toss curve balls of work out of the blue to stagger students however, to give them a challenge to make themselves smarter. That’s tests really or sudden papers to write up though.
“Aside from all that though, and you don’t have to answer my previous question if you don’t want to. Just glad you actually apologized. I am sorry myself for stomping your work out of my own aggression if I hadn’t already said it. ..Normally I am the quiet ‘I won’t do too much’ dude in the background cause I ain’t that social. I know, surprising considering I am talking for this long but..once you get goin’ its hard to stop y’know?” Man, Leo sure is talking a lot, but that is just exactly how it is for some. Anti-social as heck but once you’re chill and they understand your chill..they’ll go on and on. But for this, really Leo is a kind guy so long as you’re kind in return and aren’t and absolute butt and hes showin’ that off tenfold and he knows hes doing that! Mostly because he wants to show hes not a jerk himself.
