I’ve noticed a rise of AI-generated fanfics on perhaps all reading platforms and it’s lowkey making me exasperated.

Those soulless books, which are, strangely enough, praised, are wholly unreadable. I wonder why anybody even goes through all the trouble to post 500 pages of AI generated content—can anybody explain?

Here is why the argument "you're defending a terrorist" is just plain hatred and nothing else. This should've been pretty self explanatory but incels online are so thick headed that they need everything to be spoon-fed.

Writing or creating any kind of art for anyone, on any fandom, any franchise is more than acceptable. The attempts to suppress any work because they're "ruining moral character" are pure and utterly simple censorship attempts which is a bullcrap activity.

Attacking readers and writers' character on the basis of the art they create or consume is an ad hominem fallacy. If you want to critique, criticise the work or the inherent art. Not the person's attributes.

Equating writing fantasies with dictators like Hi*ler and St*lin with creating art and fanfics about a movie franchise is lazy and pathetic. They're two VERY different things. We are writing and reading surrounding a portrayal of a person who was a real-life terrorist (who we wish burns in hell for eternity).

Even creating art on morally questionable things shouldn't be censored or ceased because then it also creates a space to question all the other topics which sexists, misogynists, casteists, classists, terfs, etc. are DYING to censor. But that is a different argument for another day.

This is the most important: all the fanfictions, ALL of them have warnings, disclaimers and tags. If you find it morally questionable or affecting your integrity (those feelings are valid and very much understandable), then simply don't engage with these posts. Nothing justifies your hate speech, not even works you think are of problematic character.

To all those beautiful and skilled readers and writers who are getting these hate asks and messages, please ignore them and continue engaging in our ethereal fandom which is such a recluse to so many people, myself included.
