The potential of Rin being religious is not utilized enough methinks!!!! I need Rin to be upset, frustrated, confused, and to want to seek comfort in a church and yet cannot bring himself to walk in, I want him to pray over every meal, to recite the verses Shiro drilled in his head, to stuff a silver cross underneath the collar of his shirt and fiddle with it when unsure, to kiss and beg for forgiveness for existing as such an abomination all while wondering if he’s already forgiven, or if he could ever be forgiven when the touch of holy water burns his skin. I want Shiro to have made Rin pray every single night just in hopes that maybe, just maybe, a higher power would ease the demon blood licking inside Rin’s veins, even if Shiro himself never truly believed in it all either.

I was about to go to sleep and thought about how Mephisto is trying to stop his volatile older brother from destroying the world, and Yukio is also trying to stop his volatile older brother from destroying the world and HIMSELF.

They are two pairs of brothers on opposite sides, but I feel that what transforms their situations into something completely different, beyond the fact that the twins are half human, is that Rin and Yukio love each other. Rin and Yukio brotherly love is what makes their history the way it is.

Lewin's Demon Heart only sees Reason. Angel's heart can't reason and only feels deep emotion and resentment. These two guys are in big trouble. AOEX Chapter 160.

Lightning really does have the heart of a demon. And it's a blessing and a curse.

Lightning can't truly feel human emotions; he knows it's wrong to kill Angel, but if Lucifer possesses Angel, he could destroy the entire world. Angel is the worst choice for Lucifer's body. Angel is weak of soul and spirit, and Lucifer will kill Angel's consciousness and have total access to his body. Lucifer, like all the other bodies, would burn through Angel's flesh, and we're back at square one. Lucifer is in agony, searching for a body, or blowing the world up. It's a dumb sacrifice for Angel to make. Lucifer can't control his power; he has no common sense and is a bit of a dunce, much like Angel.

It can't be Angel.

And here's the thing: if Angel and Lightning are really connected to each other with some sort of mornath contract. Will Lightning die if he kills Angel? That sounds like a really terrible sacrifice.

Two gifted exorcists die for no good reason, but for Angel's pride? Lightning is willing to take on the burden to save the world. He knows that the human kids can't do the killing, can't handle the burden, so he will do it. But don't get the warm fuzzies here, Lightning will kill anyone who tries to stop him. He's willing to destroy the one to save the many.

Lightning does have another option; the human option is to somehow reach Angel on an emotional level. Angel has been lied to his entire life by the Grigori. And he's scared, angry and vengeful. The man is broken...but can someone help him understand? Can both of them be saved? We need an exorcist with heart and empathy to step in between here. Is it Shura? The other kids? Lightning doesn't have the tools in his emotional toolbox to save them. He's going to martyr them.

Both of these guys need help.

If Lightning can keep Angel away from Lucifer without killing him, Homare could be the one to tame Lucifer. She seems to be full of common sense and reason. She can control Lucifer's strength and bind him. She might be able to fight back Lucifer's soul and tame the demon.

Anyway, this is getting complicated.
