I was in a car for 6+ hours yesterday and decided to get my notes on Mikuo and his stuff finished
Something possessed me to write a solid chunk of his like 2nd most traumatizing event in actual serious text instead of lighthearted notes. Ngl it's SO CORNYYY like painfully so i dunno if i feel comfortable posting that BWAHAHAH
But rewording it seems like a disservice to past me who legit teared up while writing(i had a long day okay) so. Ehe
HI okay lore dump (none of these designs are final k thanks)
Original Togabito of Sound & Transmition "Vodyl Bell" (based on 1st human speech synthesizer voder by Bell Telephone Laboratory)
Powers!!!!: Sound - can manipulate soundwaves, limited to sounds produced by him. (e.g. he would be whispering but have someone 10meters across from him hear him talking normally)
Transmission - can possess electrical devices, jump between them, control & amplify their functions
-> renowned musician and radio star around the mainstream emergence of the radio in America, 1930s
-> used his powers subconcsiously to gain popularity but he's also just naturally good at music
-> devotes life to music and charity
-> mysteriously disappears at age 55 (Mashiro kidnapped him LMAO)
-> refuses to work for Shiki because he doesn't think a single group of people based mostly on genetics and chance should rule the world HOWEVER
-> Mashiro blackmails him into working for him anyways bc he threatens to reveal his togabito powers which would destroy his entire life and career
-> Vodyl gives up hope after a bit but still records everything he can to hopefully inspire someone similar to him to one day take down Shiki
-> Vodyl takes his own life
-> Mashiro splits the Sound and Transmition aspects of Vodyl's powers to easier manufacture clones
-> Both of their powers don't awaken naturally (and Mashiro doesn't have a Rokudo on hand lol) so they are considered failures. But they're kept around bc they are smart and obedient. (And Isou does feel the tiniest bit protective of KA1T0, who kinda looks like him)
-> MIK4 and R1NL3N escape around some time idfk this timeline is fucked. They go on to live fairly normal lives as "Miku" and "Rilena" and create families. Rina and Leroy are Rilena's descendants, Mikuo is Miku's.
-> LUK4 takes the blame for their escape
-> T3T0 and G9M1 similarly escape, as "Teto" and "Gumi". Tetra is granddaughter of Teto and Gillian is granddaughter of Gumi.
-> later ME1K0 and KA1T0 escape, they go on to live as Meiko and Kaito.
-> LUK4 escapes alongside Hiiro and baby(?) Jyugo. While she similarly wants to take down Mashiro and Shiki, she is appalled at the idea of eradicating Togabito as a whole (almost like incriminating someone purely based on something they have no control over is bad).
-> LUK4, now going by Luka, joins Meiko and Kaito
-> they later find out about Rina and Leroy, Rilena's great-grandchildren who end up orphaned. The three adults adopt the twins.
-> Rina and Leroy meet at very depressed pre-transition Mikuo and school and befriend him. They ease him into running away.
-> Mikuo runs away from home and while not officially adopted, he lives with the group and starts his transition.

The crowd roared in confused enthusiasm as Tenna gave a gracious flurry of low-FPS bows, pausing only for the occasional stink-nose at his audience plants who weren’t throwing enough 3D roses.
Eventually, the room fell silent. It was Senshi’s turn to speak.
He puffed out his chest, took a long, sweeping look over the audience… and shook his head.
“I can see not all of you are eating properly.”
The crowd murmured with embarrassment.
“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s time to take the turkey out of your icebox. I have seen the ingenious technology with which your people store food... and I have also seen the waste which results from such convenience.
“The food you take had a life. Beasts grew fat on the grass of the field, plants grew from the sun’s rays, and mushrooms grew from minerals in the cracks of caves. And yet, it sits in your iceboxes, collecting moisture until it perishes.
“Eat what is given to you. Because its life will make you stronger, too.”
Without another word, Senshi left his podium and stepped away from the stage. The crowd murmured in confusion. “Is he really like that?” somebody said. “I only remember reblogging the photosets of him tripping and showing ass.”

Back in the Green Room, Tenna wrung his antennas nervously.
“Y-y-you think they liked me!? They HAD to!! I mean, I don’t know what Asgore was thinking, getting that weird haircut and running that food waste campaign, but… YOU thought I did good, didn’t you, Kris?”
Laios nodded aggressively, a streak of blue face paint peeling from his forehead.
“You did AMAZING, Tenna! By the way, now that we’ve seen all your insider campaign secrets, do you have any more videos of Susie? Especially her tail... If I could get a look at that, I could finally tell if she’s a dinosaur or --”
THWACK. Fake antlers butted Laios’s head.
“LAIOS?? Weren’t we dressed up to help SENSHI???” Marcille hissed, gesturing awkwardly with her hooves.
Suddenly, Tenna turned to the two adventurers.
“Hey, WAIT a second. SOMETHING’s not right here...”
Laios and Marcille held their breath.
“Where the heck are my POINTS!?”
Just then, the door opened. Chilchuck took one step into the room, whistling and holding a large bag.
Everyone turned to him.
Chilchuck paused, took a step backwards, and closed the door.
“CHILCHUCK!!!” yelled Tenna.
“How come Chilchuck got to stay Chilchuck!?” yelled Marcille at the same time.

Meanwhile, in outer space somewhere, some guy was making out with a rock.

Mikuo does think that Uno is pretty attractive n cute but he is not feeding that ego (and when he does mention it later off hand it sends Uno into a bisexual panic bc it makes him think about how Mikuo is actually sort of handsome and that Jyugo is also cute in his own right and Rock is obviously attractive and Nico is also cute—)
Doodle 2: Now, you may be wondering (you aren't, this is the 2nd time i'm posting about this guy) just what is Mikuo doing at Shiki??? Well he isn't there willingly :D
To cut a long story short, Mikuo escaped from Nanba and has dedicated himself to do the impossible and take down both Kaaze and Shiki for multiple reasons (that I will explain one day prommy) but also he is a vulnerable 17 year old who only recently recovered some very traumatic memories and also had lost his best friends overnight WHILE uncovering Kaaze conspiracy stuff. So when Mashiro catches wind of the Togabito of Transmission being free he throws a Jyugo in his direction to lure him in.
It works! Mikuo is a very unwilling observer similar to Taura and her ghostly crew except Mashiro and Mikuo are playing 4D level mindgames to get the other to reveal weakpoints and stuff. Can you believe that they're both losing and look positively insane to everyone else?
Jyugo, surprisingly, doesn't harbor as much distrust towards Mikuo because Mikuo never knew about Jyugo's situation specifically. But because Jyugo is lowkey a shell of a human being he just kind of. Lingers around Mikuo. Poor Mikuo is already in a very bad state (literally in enemy territory, stressed 24/7) and Jyugo's behaviour is NOT HELPING. At least Kuu is there for some emotional support.
Mikuo does his best to initiate conversation but Jyugo literally only listens and Mikuo is SO unsure someone help him please. Later Mikuo has one or two small breakdowns in front of Jyugo and things get ever so slightly better. Only slightly.
Doodle 3: despite everything, Mikuo is literally so hopecore. His grasp on his own personality is actually kind of a mess because it just molds itself to whatever fits any given situation/person best but he will never ever give up hope. The world isn't kind? Not yet it isn't.
(His personality is like that bc he is based on hatsune miku and miku can be anyone/anything so I wanted to explore that :))
