✎ = speaking in a different language - From Vicious

@viciousrocket
A navy brow quirked at the man's words. While she still understood what he was saying, the detective hadn't anticipated the sudden shift in language mid-conversation.
Actually, she hadn't anticipated a language shift at all. And had it not been for her companionship with the head of the Kirijo Group, the Kalosian words would have gone right over her head.
❝If you were attempting to speak covertly, you should have informed me.❞ Clearing her throat, Naoto responded in kind. ❝Unless of course you didn't intend for me to understand your words?❞
A hand came to rest on her hip as she looked up toward the man. ❝To save confusion later, what other languages do you speak? I am trilingual myself.❞ And still learning of course, as it could prove a useful skill for the job.
☁ = being caught in the middle a storm with them

❝Hey!❞ Naoto called out agaisnt the roaring wind. She'd anticipated getting home before the worst of the storm began, but it seemed now she may be cutting it a little too close as she made a detour after noticing someone still out in the streets. Had they not seen the forecasts for today? What was he thinking? The ominously dark sky should have been enough of a precursor of what was to come that only a fool would be showing no signs of seeking shelter.
❝It isn't safe to be out here at this time. Do you have somewhere to wait out the worst of this?❞ An ominous rumble only accentuated her point, the obvious pressure building an indication of the rain that threatened to fall at any moment. ❝If not, I'm not staying far from here. You can seek shelter there.❞
At this point, the detective had to hold her hat to keep it from being blown away in the wind. Gray eyes inspected the blond, a dour expression on her face. She wasn't generally one to invite anyone into her dwelling, none the less a stranger, but she couldn't in good conscious just leave someone out here.
❝We should get a move on before the worst of it starts. If the rain starts an umbrella would be useless with all of this wind.❞ She hardly waited for a reply as she turned to continue her trek home, assuming the other would follow.
Vicious's brow raised slightly at the meal offer, he wasn't going to turn it down, but he clearly wanted something, he stared hard at the detective, watching him carefully and observing. The other was a mix of conflicting information, clearly wanting to hide themselves, either a professional or a paranoid. "It's a decent place, I've been here once or twice," he replied as she scanned the menu, debating on being an ass and ordering the most expensive thing or getting something that might somewhat fill him, he wasn't stupid enough to share unwanted info with the other unless he was going to get something in return. He would make whatever the other ordered, price-wise.
"I prefer to have proper information before I stick my foot into something, less chance of it being bitten off. So cut the chase and get to the point, I'm not exactly the type of man who plays ring-around-the-rosie for fun. I'll hear you out and then make my choice so do a good job of selling it."
A neutral gaze is all he'd recieve in return as Naoto rose the cup to her lips. She'd grown accustom to this sort of scrutiny, often sized up by those she interrogated. She was simply glad to see he appeared to take her seriously.
❝In that case, is there anything you would recommend?❞ The detective nodded toward the menu he was perusing. She'd glanced it herself earlier, though was uncertain if she would order anything herself. Though as a show of good faith, she would consider any recommendation he presented. The price of the meal was of little consequence, the being the final remaining member of the Shirogane family came with the wealth. Not to mention she was accustom to the offer being fully taken advantage of, by both friends and those she was interrogating.
❝Understandable.❞ A soft chuckle escaped her. ❝While I haven't been formally assigned to the case, I would like to take some initiative and throw my hat in the ring so to speak. While I rose up the ranks to more than earn my place in the Shirogane family young, I am still seeking my true magnum opus. Though I do have to admit, my informant was rather vague on exactly what information you could provide, which is partially the reason for this meeting. In exchange for any useful intel and cooperation, I would though, be able to promise you immunity.❞
