I just want a girl that completes me, steals my breath away,
With just a smile, she’s stopping my heartbeat, no emergency
Where can I find a girl like that?

Bombalonzo snuggles! Plus Demandra and Coricomile.
Fletcher Dobinson as Alonzo, Suzie Melloy as Bombalurina, Ella Nonini as Demeter, Emily Casey as Cassandra, Aaron Lynch as Coricopat, Anina Pletscher (I think) as Tantomile, and Tyler Lotzof as Victoria, 2020 Asia tour.
Demandra in different productions, Vienna 2019
First post in my new reoccurring series. Basically, I find all potential Demandra pictures from a specific production and compile them into one post. Today’s production, Vienna 2019!
Paris 2015: Oonagh Jacobs as Jemima, Charlyne Ribul Conte covering Bombalurina, Emmanuelle N'Zuzi as Demeter, and Federica Capra as Cassandra.
You seem so, so sincere
Spittin’ lies all up in my ear
Thinkin’ I don’t know the score
You can mess with her
But I want more
Follow-up to this post, because it was fun to make and I wanted to do the side-by-side thing again with Cass as Jessica :)
Mexican Demandra! Carolina Laris as Demeter and Pamela Castro Bojalil as Cassandra, Mexico 2018.

Hear the crowd calling your name, yeah
Starstruck!
Prepare to get
Starstruck!
For day 6 of Jellicle Week of Demeter! Demeter as the punk rock version of Christopher Wilde, for my very self-indulgent StarStruck AU (focused on Demandra), because I can do whatever I want.
Demeter Wilde is your optimistic, eager to please, yet somewhat oblivious of her own celebrity privilege, teenaged rockstar. Her life gets turned upside down when she meets cynical, anti-fangirl Cassandra Olson, who not only doesn’t fall for her charms like most people do, but calls Demeter out on her famous person bullshit.
After being forced to spend time together in order to evade the paparazzi, Demeter tries desperately to win Cassandra over with her charisma. But no matter how much she tries to convince Cass that she’s a real, authentic person, Cass just keeps on shutting her down with cold words. But whoops, looks like through all that bickering (and a brief swim in a pond), they accidentally fall in love with each other, and the school dance is just around the corner...
More face claims, this time for Jess!Cassandra in my StarStruck AU.
In the top left, we have Seeta Indrani from the OLC, and to her right we have Summer Strallen from the 2003 UK/European Tour. Bottom row is Melissa Rae Mahon from the Broadway closing cast in 2000, and then Eva Kosmowski in the middle and far right from the US Tour 5.
A bit more variety this time around, with four face claims rather than two like last time, and all from (mostly) distinctly different production styles compared to my picks for Chris!Demeter, which are both from Broadway style productions. This is mostly because I have a less clear idea of what Jess!Cassandra should look like, as my image of her in my head is rather broad.
On one hand, I want a somewhat youthful looking face, that matches with Jessica’s face, and that also matches with her sometimes immature mannerisms. But on the other hand, I also want a tall, elegant, maybe even slightly intimidating looking Cass with a mature outlook on life, that matches with, well, Cassandra’s general demeanor. But overall, I want a Cass who can appear young and maybe a bit on the softer side, but has the full capacity to chew someone out.
So, of course, with all these conflicting ideas I have, it was rather difficult for me to scope out the ideal face claim, so I just went with the Cassandras who felt like they had the right vibe. I think I wound up leaning more towards the soft/youthful look, but still with hints of sass and attitude. They’re not ideal (I mean, I don’t even have a proper picture of Melissa, she just had the right energy to me), but I’m pretty happy with these picks overall. They feel like a good counter to my Chris!Demeter.
I think I’ve mostly settled on version 1 of my StarStruck AU, because as much as Cassandra has those elegant “the envy of all she meets” vibes that could make her a great larger-than-life celebrity character, she really fits more as Jessica personality-wise.
Chris is rather bubbly and impulsive, and also a bit desperate at times to impress Jess and make her like him. Cass is far too self-assured and apathetic to fit that mold, Demeter, however, could definitely do so. Demeter can be the wild, yet down to earth, smiley superstar personality that expects everyone to like her and find her pleasant, because everyone usually does.
But Demeter isn’t really the type to be hyper-critical of everything like Jess is, that’s Cassandra. Cassandra is the type to be stubborn and start pointless arguments just so she can be in disagreement with the celebrity standing next to her. Cassandra is petty like that, Demeter isn’t.
Cass is your typical eye-rolling non-famous person who can’t understand why everything has to be so dramatic and overdone with these celebrity people. And she can’t be easily impressed. Much like with Jess, it takes a lot on Demeter’s part to convince Cass that she’s not like all those other famous people, that she’s different, genuine and real in her thoughts, feelings, and aspirations.
Face claims for Chris!Demeter in my StarStruck AU.
Top row is Gayle Holsman, first on Broadway in 2000 on the left, and her again in 2016 for a promotional event on the right. Bottom row is Madison Mitchell during the US Tour 5.
I chose these Demeters specifically either for their butch haircut (Mitchell) or for their irresistible smile (Holsman), but both for their very mature faces and likeable rockstar vibes.
Basically, these are the Demeters that I can picture singing Hero to a flustered, in-denial about her feelings Cassandra.
StarStruck AU
Does a StarStruck AU work perfectly for Tuggoffelees? Yes. Does it work so well that it practically writes itself? Yes.
Am I making it about Demandra instead because Something About the Sunshine reminds me so much of them, and also because I want my comfort movie to go with my comfort ship, even if the character dynamics wouldn’t meld as well? Also yes.
So here is my dumbass Demandra StarStruck AU because I can do whatever the fuck I want.
no thoughts, just pretty queens
Demeter (?Ding Zhenying) and Cassandra (?Wang Feifei) dancing together in the 2012 China production.
Will you count me in?
There’s something about the sunshine, baby
I’m seeing you in a whole new light
Out of this world for the first time, baby
