Loki nodded with a slight smile. The aura around her was relatively calming, so he didn’t mind being less hostile with her. Loki shrugged. “I’m curious if the gods are better at everything than humans….. surely there must be something we do not excel at." he said, looking at her.
Loki nodded, humming in response. “Family is precious, yes? I’m sure you two protect each other." he said, smile faltering slightly, but he didn’t care. Snorting, he rolled his eyes. “I never paid much attention, though Thor may as well be. Seeing as he always like the humans much better and would do much to help them. He truly was the favorite of the humans. Not at first, but over time he was. He was the favorite of many gods as well."
"Well do you know how a computer works? Or a cellphone? I figure that the stuff we make, the technology you’re unfamiliar with, would be the only place we might have an upper hand." Aine offered with a slight tilt of her head, actually curious what he might think of human inventions in mechanics. Her brother was a leader of it too, and his inventions stumped even her. Actually, she was sure only Bruce knew the first thing about any of Tony’s things other than Tony himself.
"Yes. It’s the most important thing in the world." Even if her family was so small, it mattered most to her. Tony mattered most to her. “I’m not sure about protect, since I’m just human, no super in me." She chuckled, shrugging. “But we do look after each other. Make sure we don’t lose the only family we’ve got."
"He’s quite the character. Though, just as a counterpoint, humanity may have always loved your brother, but they found you most interesting." She commented, thinking back to one of the many books she’d read on Norse mythology. “One historian called you, well his first line was ‘handsome of face,’ but then after that he commented that you are ‘the most fascinating and dynamic of all the gods.’ Of course he went on to call you evil and a cheat, but I never understood that. In all your myths, you played pranks, but when you were chided you fixed anything you’d messed with. You always set things right, which doesn’t seem evil. Just mischievous." She offered another shrug, at this point straying from fact into personal opinion. She’d never been able to find any of the greater beings truly evil, they just had their own natures, much like humans.
Loki blinked a few times. "I have had to use a cellphone before.... never a computer. Your technology does surpass ours for now." he chuckled. "Your brothers metal suit does stump me as well, though. It's quite.... complex. Though I believe my magic could harm the systems in it. But don't worry. I won't unless given a reason to."
Loki nodded shortly. Family hadn't mattered all that much to him for a bit. He was just now understanding that family does not have to be blood. "Everyone has a bit of super in them." he said with a small shrug.
Loki grinned, hearing the most interesting bit. "I do believe myself more... entertaining than him." He listened to her continue and rolled his eyes. "My face is much lesser than the rest..... Nothing that I fixed mattered. They cared not unless I did nothing at all or they made me out as a fool." he grimaced.
Loki chuckled, hearing the soft purring coming from the girl. At least she was happy to see him, that was all that mattered. He helped her carefully as she slid down to touch the ground, arms around his torso. He ruffled her hair, smiling down at the girl. "I am glad. I was worried, since I was gone for so long." he chuckled, watching the matured face still look quite kid-like. She was beaming up at him and he watched as her eye color changed.
"I hope I am, though I am not sure. I’m glad that he is back and that you all are well and happy." He chuckled, watching her jump. Noticing the elderly, he gave them a polite smile and nod before looking back at Allie. "I believe your face may split if you keep grinning that widely." he teased.
She giggled, rubbing her cheeks, which did feel a little sore from all the smiling but she couldn’t help it.
"Ahh that’s reall great! I’m really happy you’re here, Tio… Oh!" She took his hand and started back the way she came. “Let’s have some ice cream and hang out, okay? Unless—" She slowed down, looking over her shoulder at him. “You’ve got somewhere else to be?" Her brows furrowed, her mind chastising her for being so forward and pulling him everywhere, but, again, she couldn’t help it. The reunion of their group of friends made her heart flutter happily, especially since her family is now part of it.
Loki laughed softly as she rubbed her cheeks. He had definitely missed her. It was nice to be back.
She pulled him along and he smiled until she turned around. He ruffled her hair with his free hand and shook his head. "I have no pressing matters that could not wait until tomorrow. So I am yours for the evening." he said, smiling at Allie.
"A Stark is never lost." He pouted, “I’m just on an adventure."
Loki chuckled. "I see. Is your adventure fun?" he asked with a small, gentle smile.
Jackson nodded, “Why else would I still be on the adventure?"
"Hmm." Loki said with a nod, watching the child curiously. "What is your adventure about?"
"Can’t tell," he smiled, “It’s a secret."
"You cannot tell? How unfortunate for me." he said, chuckling softly.
// THERE ARE YOU HAPPY NOW
// Sorry guys~
Been so busy recently that I just kinda.... poofed.
But once I get dinner I'll come back and work on drafts.
Kairo had told him where Allie would be. He waited patiently, at first sitting down, for her to come around. He noticed the girl instantly and stood up, standing in a place he hoped she would find him…. She did. He wondered what she would say, what she would do. He had been gone for so long, not knowing of the recent and not so recent events. Though he was calm and composed, inside he was a bundle of nerves.
His street clothes made him look normal, not having anyone call the Avengers or start screaming. She looked a bit older, now. Of course she was, but he couldn’t help but think of how she had matured into a beautiful young lady. Finally, though, she saw him. At first, she looked like she wanted to run. His nerves knotted, but he remained where he was. Suddenly, she seemed to have clicked it together, because she came at him smiling, arms wide ass he yelled. "Allie." He said with a laugh when she was close enough. He opened his arms in time as she jumped at him, forcing him to take a step back as he laughed more. "Hello. I appreciate the warm welcome."
She wrapped her arms tightly around him, and if she had her ears and tail out, she’d be purring loudly. Unfortunately, they were out in public, so she settled for just purring quietly the best she could, her legs kicked back behind her, keeping her off the floor for at least a full minute before she shifted her weight to stop them from falling over. She just barely reached her tip-toes, her arms sliding from around his neck to around his middle and she grinned up at him.
"Tio, I’m so happy to see you again!" Despite definitely having aged since they’d last met, the cheery, childish features shone brightly across her face at the sight of her uncle. As they always did in the past. Though there were faint scars here and there, it didn’t seem to change anything in her expression. Her eyes melted from a deep brown to a bright honey color from her happiness.
"Are you back for good, too? Oh this is so great! Now my tio and my dad are back!" She pulled back away from him, jumping up and down and attracted the attention of a couple of elderly joggers, who watched her with amused expressions as they passed. It didn’t bother her in the slightest, however, as she returned her attention to Loki, her grin wider than before, if possible.
Loki chuckled, hearing the soft purring coming from the girl. At least she was happy to see him, that was all that mattered. He helped her carefully as she slid down to touch the ground, arms around his torso. He ruffled her hair, smiling down at the girl. "I am glad. Jackson nodded, “Why else would I still be on the adventure?"
"Hmm." Loki said with a nod, watching the child curiously. "What is your adventure about?"
Loki chuckled softly. "Not at all, dear, not at all." Loki was mildly surprised the avenger hadn’t come to kill him yet for speaking to his sister.
Loki snorted at that, an exasperated look on his face. "Indeed. He ate and drank more than one can fathom. Though, I supposeal l gods eat more than humans would think, or even be able to handle." he shrugged slightly, thinking of how often the Aesir feasted, and just how much…. He glanced at her as she looked down and nodded slightly. "I suppose…. I can understand that. I cannot say I feel for Thor as I once did, but I know the feeling, so to speak. I’m sure Stark is very glad you are there for him. Knowing someone cares is truly a large thing…"
Loki laughed softly, shaking his head. "No, no. Between what we believe and speak is different from how most things happen. If you had asked Thor of his tales, he would seem like the largest, strongest man alive. I assure you, many legends are taken differently."
"Thank you." He was a lot nicer than Tony had made him out to be. Or perhaps her brother was just still irritated by getting thrown out a window. She could see him holding a grudge.
"I’m sure you can handle more of anything and everything than a human, including food." She agreed with a slight chuckle. She wondered exactly what the differences were, genetically. How far they went, how much they had in common.
"Tony is irritating as hell sometimes, but he’ll always be my brother. We both know that." She smiled, offering a slight nod. Family was and always would be an unbreakable bond in her opinion, no matter what.
"Yes well, everyone tells their own tale to their own advantage don’t they?" She raised an eyebrow, laughing. “Not to mention Thor is, according to our history, the god of the peasant or farmer, the average man and women, who were the majority back when the myths started, which made him a favorite." Myths and legends about the thunder god outweighed all others, though there were plenty about the rest of the gods and goddesses too.
Loki nodded with a slight smile. The aura around her was relatively calming, so he didn't mind being less hostile with her. Loki shrugged. "I'm curious if the gods are better at everything than humans..... surely there must be something we do not excel at." he said, looking at her.

It was a warm summer day, the middle of July in New York had the city bursting with tourists and teens alike. People still bustling off to work. Allie’s activity of choosing for the summer was going to the park. Often with friends, other times by herself. There was something oddly calming about it. Better than going to the mall, of course.
This was one of those days she was by herself. Guardsless. She wandered down the pathway through the middle of Central Park, waving at the ice cream vendor she always passed. When she glanced up, however, she stopped dead.
The familiar tall figure of Loki had her freeze, her entire insides shrinking with fear. But a tug in her heart somehow reassured her, and her fear ebbed away when she realized which Loki it was. The energy was familiar, and the man was truly there. Instead of fear, her eyes widened happily, and she couldn’t help but shout out, “TIO!" as she ran over towards him with everything she had, arms out and jumping up to hug him.
"Tio~!"
Kairo had told him where Allie would be. He waited patiently, at first sitting down, for her to come around. He noticed the girl instantly and stood up, standing in a place he hoped she would find him.... She did. He wondered what she would say, what she would do. He said with a laugh when she was close enough. He opened his arms in time as she jumped at him, forcing him to take a step back as he laughed more. "Hello. I appreciate the warm welcome."
"Tony told me I was being creepy." Aine explained, her defensiveness built in after years of teasing from her older brother. He was twenty when she was born, but that didn’t mean he was very mature. Or mature at all.
"Heh, well no wonder he’s so huge." She giggled, sure the thunder god probably ate three times more than the average human. She wondered what their feasts were like, back in Asgard. She’d give anything to see one.
"He doesn’t say it much, but we’re all each of us has." She agreed softly, looking down for a moment. “He knows I’m here." At least she hoped he did. Hoped he knew how much she cared.
"Balder?" She repeated, nodding slowly. “In some of the myths I’ve read he’s mistaken for your uncle. Of course, I hope you forgive us. All of the things we know are from oral legends that had to be translated and re-translated from texts that fall apart when you breath on them." She added hurriedly, hoping it didn’t upset him that humanity had gotten it wrong.
Loki chuckled softly. "Not at all, dear, not at all." Loki was mildly surprised the avenger hadn't come to kill him yet for speaking to his sister.

"I welcome you all. How may I help you?"
"Oh,great. Hello there Loki."
"Tidendi." Loki greeted with a bow. "And you are...?"
Ah, another twin. This is rather exciting, much more exciting than knowing there was simply a single copy of me around. -thetruequeenofasgard
"I suppose I am, dear. Exciting? It could be, yes. There seem to be many of us around, yet we do not get into each other’s way. Curious."
"I welcome you all. How may I help you?"
Young Jackson Stark looked up at him. “Where am I, mister?"
Loki blinked a few times. "You come, yet know not where? It doesn’t matter, though. Where do you wish to be?" The demigod asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I’m looking for my mommy or daddy." He said, “Whitney Reid and Tony Stark."
"I see...." the demigod blinked curiously. "I'm afraid that I have not seen your mother, nor your father, child. Are you lost...?"
"I’m not creepy I’m a researcher." Aine added immediately, ducking her head in embarrassment. “Thank you, but it seems he’s used to it. As much as I try and get him to eat properly, he’ll live off coffee and powerbars for weeks." She gave a long-suffering sigh, but it didn’t irritate her as much as it concerned her really. Tony was all she had left, her only family, and she’d rather he not work himself to death anytime soon.
"Yeah, it’s not as prestigious as Tony but I enjoy it." She offered a smile, which widened at his agreement, her face lighting up like a kid on Christmas morning. So maybe she was overeager, but most of what she studied was written by people who’s great-grandchildren died before she was born. And here was someone that not only lived during the time, but actually lived the tales she translated and collected.
Oh crap, but where to start? She wanted to know everything, but she needed something specific to ask. “Well, are you aware of the legends and myths we already have? I’m sure they can’t all be correct, is there anything you know we’ve gotten wrong?" Correcting mistakes would be the best place to start, if there were any, and then she could try and expand her knowledge to new things.
"Of course, my apologies." he said with a small bow. "I cannot fathom what it's like to worry over someone not eating. Thor always ate too much, so I had no worries about him, other than him bursting one day." he added, in his own way trying to make her feel better, though it was sure to fail. "No doubt he is grateful for you despite his bad eating habits." the demigod shrugged.
He watched as the girl became quite excited and couldn't help but settle into a friendly smile. "I am aware of very few, actually. Many believe it was only Thor and myself, but he had other- well, he had a true brother. Balder. Had, of course. Balder isn't with us anymore."
