There’s a smile that comes across her freckled face, it was nice to finally see him again. Her arms open and she pulls him into a hug ❝ Heeeey! It’s good to see you, dude. ❞ she says before letting him go and ruffling his hair. ❝ So, you ever hear of Devil’s Gate? That dam that’s been rumored to have been the sight of some devil worship? I was thinking we check it out. ❞ 

       a  grin  at  the  ruffle  but  his  attention  quickly  sparks  up  again.  ❛  yeah?  devil  worship?  ❜  now  it’s  a  little  too  good.  even  if  he  wanted  to,  he  wouldn’t  be  able  to  help  but  fuck  with  her  a  bit.  he  bounces  on  his  heels,  ❛  well  i’m  always  down  for  a  little  devil  worship.  sounds  like  a  blast!  ❜  well  ---  maybe  not  a  blast  considering  the  way  he  died,  but  he  can  tell  it’ll  be  fun  to  use  his  powers  for  a  little  mischief.

        ❛  you  say  bad  i  say  questionable  with  good  potential.  ❜  is  he  trying  to  be  positive?  is  he  just  being  a  cocky  asshole?  maybe  a  mix  of  both. the  shit  eating  grin  over  his  features  definitely  points  towards  the  latter  of  the  options.   ❛  i  mean  look  at  it  this  way,  you  got  to  meet  yours  truly!  which  is  a  pretty  damn  good  outcome  if  i  say  so  myself.  ❜  his  ego  may  be  a  little  out  of  hand,  but  at  least  he  thinks  he’s  fun.

         usually  she  picks  the  places  and  he  follows,  but  this  time  he  found  somewhere.  supposedly  incredibly  haunted  and  if  not,  then  it’s  just  a  fun  creepy  atmosphere  to  rummage  around  in.  ❛  nah,  it’s  not  like  we  see  many  ghosts  on  these  adventures  anyway.  ❜  that  may  be  because  of  what  he  is,  though,  even  if  she  doesn’t  know  it.  he’s  pretty  sure  demon  trumps  ghosts.  it  doesn’t  stop  him  from  using  his  abilities  to  scare  the  hell  out  of  her  (  it’s  too  fun  to  not  ).  he  shoots  a  grin  and  lightly  nudge  her,  ❛  now  stop  bein’  a  big  baby  and  let’s  break  into  the  creepy  house.  ❜  a  beat  before  he  says  the  thing  he  knows  he’s  never  supposed  to.  the  thing  that  gets  every  group  of  young  adults  or  teenagers  into  bad  situations  in  horrors  ---  but  he’s  dead  already  so  what  does  he  have  to  fear?  ❛ what’s  the  worst  that  can  happen?  ❜

      a  yawn  before  he  gives  a  small  shrug,  ❛  sorry,  bud,  can’t  do  that.  ❜  moving,  adopting,  working,  keeping  himself  in  check,  having  his  kids  back  and  trying  to  plan  a  travel  trip  for  when  everything  else  is  settled  are  all  things  he  wants  to  do,  but  they  are  a  lot.  a  lot  of  stress  and  time  doing  anything  but  sleeping  or  resting  in  the  slightest.  not  to  mention  the  worse  feelings  he  doesn’t  even  want  to  acknowledge  right  now.  he  may  be  feeling  better,  but  it’s  not  as  if  the  urges  or  thoughts  from  his  change  have  disappeared.  he  just  wants  to  keep  as  much  stress  as  possible  off  haley  though,  he  knows  how  bad  their  anxiety  gets.  if  it’ll  help  pull  them  out  of  their  episode,  especially  since  he  feels  he  contributed  to  triggering  it,  he  doesn’t  mind  how  tired  he  gets.  

       he  bounces  on  his  heels,  ❛  i  gotta  work  on  being  less  selfish.  haley  needs  this  shit,  they’re  having  a  rough  time.  ❜  he  won’t  get  too  into  detail,  he  doesn’t  want  their  personal  life  sounding  like  gossip.  ❛  i’ll  be  fine,  it’s  chill.  but  thanks  for  the  concern.  ❜  unlike  before,  it’s  genuine.  he  likes  realizing  that  he’s  cared  about.  ❛  gonna  be  honest  and  say  i  could  use  a  fuckin’  nap  though.  ❜

HELL  RAISING,  I’M  READY  FOR  THE  WORST.

        accepting  any  sort  of  help  isn’t  something  that  lee  has  ever  been  good  with.  he’s  more  of  the  kind  of  person  to  take  everything  on  himself  and  hope  for  the  best.  sometimes  it  works  out,  most  times  it  doesn’t,  but  that  doesn’t  stop  him  from  continuously  trying.  he  doesn’t  want  to  bother  anyone,  he  especially  doesn’t  want  to  scare  isaac  off.  he's  surpassed  being  just  attracted  to  him  and  the  allure  of  something  dark,  a  little  bit  of  fun  had  turned  into  something  more  --  he  likes  him.  maybe  a  little  too  much  and  maybe  that  scares  him.  

       his  body  tenses  up  at  the  words.  he  thought  he  was  doing  alright  with  keeping  it  to  himself.  granted,  it’s  not  so  easy.  everything  is  changing  within  him  and  he’s  trying  to  bounce  that  with  his  already  hectic  life  -  there’s  bound  to  be  signs.  he  chews  on  his  lip,  eyes  gazing  towards  the  ground  for  a  moment.  ❛  i  don’t  wanna  scare  you  off  or  have  you  think  i’m  just  ---  ❜  he  pauses  for  a  moment  with  a  shaky  breath,  ❛  i  don’t  know,  some  damaged  goods  or  some  shit?  i  like  being  around  you,  i  don’t  wanna  bring  you  down.  ❜

❝ Yeah sure. ❞ she’s been driving for a long time so a little break from doing it sounded really nice. She starts putting his address into her GPS, and thankfully it wasn’t too far from where she was now. ❝ I’ll be there in like forty five minutes or so. Alright? See you soon. ❞ she hangs up and makes her way there. 

Forty five minutes later she pulls up and parks across from his place before texting him she’s here. She steps out of her van, leans against it, and waits.

       forty  five  minutes  is  more  than  enough  time,  but  he  still  feels  like  he  has  to  rush.  getting  dressed  in  some  real  clothes  and  not  just  pajamas  and  a  half  assed  attempt  at  his  hair.  when  he  gets  the  text,  he  grabs  his  phone  and  wallet  before  heading  outside,  giving  a  little  jump  at  his  last  step  before  he  reaches  the  van.  ❛  heya!  ❜  color  him  excited,  he’s  just  happy  to  have  an  excuse  to  get  out  of  the  house.  ❛  so  whatcha  thinkin’?  ❜
