Off-hiatus with a clear slate!

//Alrighty, that was a nice lil vacation, and I think I’m ready to come back to RP land now =} 

Couple things tho: I just have way too many threads, and I know I’m never gonna answer them. Sorry. So, as of now, with only a very few exceptions, all threads across all my blogs have been dropped. I will be listing the exceptions for each in the version of this post I reblog on them. If you are listed on there, and do not wish to continue (as some of them I am waiting on the other person), no problem! I would appreciate if you let me know tho =} In most cases, those that I’m keeping are ones that were plotted in depth, or just ones that caught my attention. 

If you are not listed as an exception, that does not mean I do not want to RP with you. I have simply lost the muse for most everything, and want to start fresh. You are all more than welcome to hit me up for something new, as I am now wonderfully free~ Additionally, if you would like to plot some resolution that we will consider the thread to have come to, that is perfectly chill too.

I am picturing Ciel like, sneaking out of bed late one night, and Sebastian finds him in the kitchen, sitting on the table with this massive bowl of cake, and they just staaaaaaare at each other, Ciel slowly bringing another bite to his lips, daring Sebastian to stop him cause he is an *adult*, goddammit, and he does what he wants.

The elder demon had been a mere breath away from shutting his own door when the younger spoke. …no matter what it may or may not have been that he felt for the former human, he had to draw the line somewhere. The elder’s power surged briefly, shadows surging across the room to grasp at Ciel, trapping him within their inky blackness. In the blink of an eye the demon had gone from his own threshold to loom over the younger. Crimson eyes burned into the other’s, features twisting to become even more vicious than the other had seen before.

“Lytytxyl uail hdopy, qwydh. E tou sadylosy o rlyos kyod, xis uai qedd zwaq swy hlahyl lyzhyps." came the hissed words. He grasped the younger’s chin in his hand once more, giving a moment for his words to sink in before sealing Ciel’s mouth with his own. Despite his brusqueness, there was a sort of tenderness to the action. Another moment passed before he withdrew his power and dropped his hold on the younger demon, leveling one last Look at him before crossing the room and, firmly, closing his own chamber door behind him.

Oh shit. It seemed to be the thought of the evening. Seeing the shadows themselves leap to life, he wondered if he mightn't have made a small mistake. He almost laughed in the moment they closed around him, the words coming to mind, Sebastian, save me now. 

The laugh would have been a lie however, impossible not to feel terror within that grip, inky shadows rippling over his held body in a way that could make even a demon's skin crawl. His smart mouth was speechless for once, breath catching in the sight of the angered demon. Shit, he thought again, for all the good it seemed to be doing him.

Well then, it would seem he'd found out how far Sebastian--No, Malphas--could be pushed. This was going to hurt. Eyes shut tight, he waited for pain as the demon leaned it, only to find himself surprised for the second time in a day's span. This time not remaining frozen, his own lips pressed back, this time noting an oddly spicy sort of flavor in the demon's kiss. Something like bergamot and currant. Almost like...tea. He wondered momentarily, without allowing the thought to truly form, if he hadn't pushed with the hope of this outcome. 

The raven demon was gone as quickly as he had snapped back, finality in the click of the door. Staring at the closed panel a moment, the laugh did come then--one breathy bark of it--mixed relief, delayed alarm and fear, and perhaps the slightest bit of satisfaction in the sound. He decided, perhaps he would take that over being tucked in with honey.

"…you are quite lucky that it is _I_ and not another demon, Ciel. Were I any other, your tongue would be ripped from your very mouth and promptly fed to you for speaking to your creator in such a manner.” He heaved a rather put-upon sigh as he lifted the hand with which he had been tapping on his arm to press against his temple for a moment, dropping both arms to his sides shortly thereafter.

"Your lessons, shall we call them, will begin after we have both had some rest. Believe me when I say that you will need the energy." With that, he gave a wave of dismissal toward the door he had said was to the younger demon’s sleeping quarters before he turned and disappeared into the opposite door.

The fact was, he knew that. The young demon had seen more than enough to know that most contracted were treated lower than dirt, lower than common condemned. At least the demonic hoard left them be when their interest waned. To consume a soul was to own it completely, and he had witnessed others torn to shreds for far less than daring to speak back. And why not? An immortal toy that could be maimed, tortured, and killed any number of ways for eternity was a high prize indeed. 

So why then did he feel the need to continue to test his luck? He wasn't sure himself, nor did he feel like thinking about it too deeply, any more than he had ever felt the need to question why he had purposefully put himself in danger while alive to force the demon to prove his skills with his life on the line. 

Watching the elder demon retreat to his quarters, he wasn't sure if he'd won a small victory, or if this was simply another maneuver. Moving towards his own given quarters, he sneered beneath his breath, content that Sebastian would hear his parting words despite the distance. "Not even going to tuck me in, or remove my clothes. What a shoddy butler you've become."

He watched silently as the former earl struggled against himself, his head tilting silently to one side. What were his intentions, precisely? Did even he, himself, know the answer to that question? What was it, precisely, about this one little contracted…out of all of those whom he had consumed over his long life?

"I have always known precisely where you were. A demon is always aware of the location of his contracted, be they human or after they have become demons, themselves. Surely you have realized this by now if you have, as you say, completed your own contracts? As for keeping the lesser sort away from you, that was hardly worthy of being called ‘effort’. Any demon who sees you knows you as mine, and none will dare bring permanent damage to what is mine."

He rolled his eyes, scoffing at the younger’s words. ”Do not insult me. Were a pleasure slave what I wanted, I could easily send for a succubus or incubus. As for my intentions…” He fell silent for a moment as he folded his arms in front of him, tapping at his arm with a single, taloned, digit as he considered his answer. “Let us simply say that, for the time being, there are matters in which you need education and that I, being your creator, am tasked with instructing you in these things.”

Ciel stared warily at the demon lord for a long moment, before his lips twitched up into a smirk. "Are you going to swat my hands once more if I fail to attend to your requirement?" He doubted he would get away with his return once more. 

Concerned still, concerned and curious, but he was somewhat relieved. As long as it wasn't that, he could stand up to whatever the demon threw his way. "As you wish," he drawled in parody. "I am ready to learn. Teach me, butler."

"Of this I am well aware. The question as to how frequently, in fact, is entirely dependent upon you, Ciel.” he said, his tone more relaxed at this point, but still holding an edge to it. “You have already been granted far more than any other demon beneath my own position, simply by my declaration that you would be occupying my quarters. No other has ever been granted the privilege amoung my contracted.”

He stared at the younger, his brow arched once more as he surveyed the younger demon before him, mulling over the unspoken questions.

His eyes flicked to the raven demon at the sound of his name, said only the barest handful of times in all those years. Good. The farther that 'young master' stayed from this, the better. He hadn't noticed his hand balling into a tight fist at his side, or the scowl on his features. Careless. He was normally much better at hiding his emotions. But too long knowing, no matter his words or brash actions, he was safe in Sebastian's presence coaxed him to carelessness. No, he reminded himself, forcing his eyes over the demon's true form, not Sebastian. Sebastian was only ever an act. This was the true demon, and it would not do to forget that. 

The thought brought the oddest tightening to his throat, a constriction long forgotten. He, of all things in the cursed world, was never supposed to change. His eyes closed for a moment, daring to imagine a world before hell, a world where no matter the nightmares, sleep came eventually, and a demon's surprisingly gentle hand would wake him. 

"What do you want with me?" He asked, eyes hard once more as he glared back, steeling himself for an enemy. He had never truly been an ally anyway. Just a hungry crow, picking at scavengings. "Children can be impatient, remember? You must have gone to a lot of trouble to find me, and keeping the others away all those years was no small effort. What's the point? If you wanted a servant of pleasure out of me, you of all should know I won't make it easy. Otherwise, state your intentions. I'm weary of you already."

His smirk held secure as he closed the door, watching the shock overtake the younger demon when he realized just whom he’d been ordering around for the last three years of his human life. When the younger began to stammer, the faintest hints of mirth began to colour his features. When Ciel fell back into his more comfortable role of arrogance, the elder demon flat out laughed for the first time since the two of them had met.

It was an odd sound, to be certain, something between the deep, malicious, laughter one would expect from a demon as powerful as himself, yet it also held the undertone of the crowing laughter one would expect from the raven demon. It took him a few moments to collect himself, but when he did, he shook his head.

"You may continue to address me as such, should you wish, providing it is only when we are alone."

Well that was...new. He'd been taught how to fake a smile, fake a laugh, but...was that one...real? Ciel wasn't sure if that should make him more nervous or less. He settled on extra caution, deeming it the more prudent path. 

"Good to know," he replied flippantly, shrugging. "And ah, how often will that be, approximately? I have a limited ability to hold my tongue." The truth question thinly veiled, What do you want? What is the purpose of this? What are you going to do to me?

Ah, there it was. He was certain that question would be posed at some point or another. He made a show of thinking over whether or not to tell him for a moment before flashing a smirk at the younger demon. A toothy smirk split his face as he leaned over, as if whispering a secret to him.

"Very well. Perhaps it shall bring with it a recollection of childhood lessons. You wish my name, young master? I am Malphas.”

Not...possible.

All that time, it had been a demon that powerful, that high ranking, that he had been ordering around, and later evading? He held still as a statue as the demon whispered his words, like so many times before. Shit, shit, shit. "You- I-my...lord, I-" Even now, such a title did not come easily to his tongue, not even with power so clearly revealed. 

So then, he decided, why bother to coax them at all? It wasn't as if he could did his hole any deeper...

Pulling that familiar, comforting cloak of arrogance back over himself, he snorted. "Sebastian suits you better."

Sebastian remained silent as the pair of them made their way through the hallways, nodding his head silently as the servants they passed welcomed him home. A few of them even eyes Ciel somewhat jealously as the whispers filtered through the halls that Sebastian had declared he was to share his rooms.

When they finally came to a stop in front of a double-door, the elder demon arched an eyebrow once more, giving a single nod toward the door to say that he wanted the younger to enter first. Past the doors was a vast sitting room, couches and chairs of various types spread around the room, accompanied by small tables and various other decor. On either side of the room was a door that led into another, separate, room.

 ”Your quarters shall be the door to your right.” On the far side of the room was a window that looked out over the sprawling fires of hell, an even larger estate visible in the distance. “That would be the Royal Palace, wherein you will find the only demons more powerful than I.” he said simply, watching Ciel’s reactions.

Fearful tho he was, the young demon was far too proud to allow himself to act in it. Even as his chaotic thoughts turned, he walked with head held high, willing the far more comforting familiar warmth of anger to burn away at terror. He was moderately successful. 

The sight behind the doors however confused him. Was it a bribe? A threat? Ciel felt as if they were playing a game he had not yet learned the rules to. Not a comfortable feeling for one so used to creating their own victory. 

"Who are you?" he finally hissed through grit teeth, turning from the window to glare at the demon behind him. "'Call me whatever you want'...who the Hell are you? And I swear if you give me that only a butler crap I'll-" ...do nothing at all, and they both knew it. Still. The threats made him feel better, as if he held some small measure of power.

He didn’t even bother to repress the smirk as the metaphorical gears clicked in Ciel’s mind. The briefest of moments later and the appearance of the butler was dropped as the demon took his true form, allowing his power to swell around the area, announcing his arrival. Barely another moment had passed before the front door swung open, revealing an obviously low-ranked demon, hardly more powerful than a human.

The lesser demon bowed deeply, a smile creasing his features. The demon stood half a head shorter than Sebastian and, by all appearances, was around the same age as Tanaka had been when last they’d seen him. “Welcome home, Master. Ah! I see you have found your errant whelpling. Shall I fetch one a Tamer for you?”

"No, that won’t be necessary. This one shall share my quarters." he replied smoothly, stalking into the manor, not even waiting to see if Ciel would trail after him, because of course he would. The lesser demon looked surprised but bowed once more.

"Of course, Master. As you wish."

"Sebas-" 

The name died before reaching his lips, realizing that the old dog's name did not come close to serving for the demon before him. What the hell? Just who was he, really? Was that why he had been asked to close his eyes back then? 

The young demon's mind whirred, fear and the desire to flee warring with the sick knowledge that he would not get far, even if he tried. Barely registering the demon servant's presence, a few words skimmed over his thoughts regardless, whelpling, tamer, share his quarters? He'd thought all he need do was avoid the demon for a few years, let it all be forgotten, gain enough souls of his own to make it no longer worth the trouble of fighting to subdue him. That hope died swiftly. He could gorge himself for centuries and not have half the power of a demon lord. 

The earl's mind turned over on itself as he followed behind the raven demon, not daring to keep him waiting. There had to be some thing, some way to escape. He had seen what happened to once contracted demons in the hands of their one-time-servants. It was not pretty, not an experience he was keen to have. Share his quarters...if it was that, that he planned to use him for... The brand still marring his flesh seemed to burn anew at the thought of it. He had never wanted to see himself used again. Not by any. But especially not by...him. Sick irony, or planned all along? And still that insistent voice in his head whispered, irritatingly, no matter how many times he screamed for its silence, that it was only Sebastian, dammit. That he was safe. 

Stupid, idiotic, insistent childhood. He did not want to see that last spark of his innocence slaughtered.

His brow arched higher still as the younger began to speak, but cut himself off. ”…do try not to sound too disappointed.” he quipped as he glanced to the side at him, watching him briefly. After a moment he sighed, lifting a hand slightly and flicking his wrist, as if to fling water from his hand onto the remnants of a wall to their side.

A split second passed before a circle of swirling darkness opened on the wall. The elder demon gestured for the younger to step through before him, stepping in after him once he did so.

As they stepped out of the portal, they were deposited in front of a sprawling manor, almost a castle in and of itself. He spared a glance for the younger demon as they stood there for a moment, taking in his reaction.

Was Sebastian expecting him to be impressed? Well, he was. A little. Not that he had any intention of showing it. It was far larger than the grounds of the ruins of his own family's manor, nearly as large as the palace itself. Or was it? Hard to tell. The grounds were massive, and it was hard to tell how far they expanded from where he stood. 

But what did any of that matter? A lovely manor, yes, especially in comparison to the quite literal Hell holes many lesser demons dwelt within. Homes, true homes, of this statue were normally reserved for-

He allowed himself a faint snort and roll of his eyes. “If we are to speak of ‘ungrateful’, we should be speaking of someone else entirely.” he commented blithely, arching an eyebrow. “Now, then. Are you quite finished running? I should quite like to return home.”

His mouth was open, already intending another barb, before the last bit cut the words short in his throat. Shit. 

'Who's running?', 'Go on then.', 'I don't see what that has to do with me.' A thousand parries flew through his mind, each as ineffective as the last. He'd hoped, perhaps enough time had passed. Should have known this was far from coincidence. The dog was collared and chained, his master come finally to collect him.

Scowling, his eyes fell to the side, an irritated huff slipping through his lips. Irritated at himself for thinking he could ever let his guard down. "...fine," he muttered. He would simply have to wait, play the demon's game, and wait for another chance.
