Alfonso Blaas colour keys - Part 2

Time for another batch of these colour keys! As in Part 1 which you can find here, colour keys on Alfonso Blaas' website are weirdly visible via search engine that aren't normally. So this is a collection of those along with the ones available on The Concept Art Blog for your enjoyment! Some absolute favourites in this batch.

Once again here's the frame of reference that has been used to order the keys. Can probably see where the stop point has been as well... Looking at it there should only be one more batch left to do.

Anyway lets roll!

For entirely biased reasons the cut is below this one because I mean look at those colours. Bonkers.

There will be 1 (One) single key with Douxie in next time for anyone curious.

As promised today we are going to look at colour keys from Trollhunters specifically by Alfonso Blaas! On Friday I somehow ended up on an Italian website that had some never before seen artwork before and they included… This.

The left image can be seen in his artstation account and his website meaning it is extremely likely the right hand pair are his work as well. It was suspected these might be back from when Trollhunters was still a film due to Toby’s coat matching the poster and it turned out it’s true!

My twitter notifs have needless to say been rather scary since the find. I’ll be going over the other things from the site (And a couple others) on Thursday :)

Surprisingly this isn’t the first time a non-english website happened to have squirreled away unseen concept art. While down currently (And this screenshot from when it was live is being shared as proof of finding) The CAB has multiple articles on Trollhunters as well in Portuguese. One of them happened to have more of his colour keys!

The Sumiciu is a peculiar house-spirit from Asturias. These ravenous creatures are often blamed for the disappearance of household items and are known to swallow and disappear whatever they get their hands on. With an all-consuming void for a mouth they eat and eat and are never sated. Their true, ghostly form remains a mystery as they are never seen by mortal eyes.

Hate how I did with the lights here, but I LOVED drawing Gunmar!!!!!!! Since I was supposed to show this work to the people at my art school, I had to refrain from the gross details of that scene, of the designs. So he looks like a red baby haha

This also might be the final drawing for now. I’m thinking of pulling up another 5, since I already got them planned. Like a part 2 u know? We’ll see bout that

Razor-Shins from Maine 🪒

New workers were expected to leave a jug of strong Bangor whisky outside their cabin door during the full moon. By morning, the jug would supposedly be empty, and the smell of alcohol would linger around camp. If Razor-Shins accepted the offering, he might reward the logger by felling a tree in the night or clearing part of a road with his deadly shinbones.

But the stories carried a warning.

Those who failed to leave the customary tribute were said to risk encountering Razor-Shins alone in the forest. Legends claimed he could scalp a man with a single kick or leave wounds that looked like saber cuts across the body.
