The person who voiced

Touko Fukawa and

Genocider Syo in the Japanese version of Dangan Ronpa is Miyuki Sawashiro.

Miyuki Sawashiro is also the wonderful madam who voiced

Sakuya Izayoi in Koumajo Densetsu II: Stranger’s Requiem, a very well done Touhou Project fangame (As in, a game made by FANS of the actual series) that managed to get professional seiyuu to act as VAs.

Genocider Syo is the Super High School Level Serial Killer, and in the NISA release of DR1 she is called Genocide Jack - “Jack” potentially being a reference to the infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper.

In the canon Touhou games, Sakuya Izayoi is a maid who works for Remilia Scarlet in the Scarlet Devil Mansion. She is skilled in knife throwing, and has the ability to manipulate time. Her spell cards include Illusion Ghost “Jack the Ludo Bile”, Buriallusion “Phantomic Killer in Night Mist”, First Card “Serial Killer Doll”, Jugglery “Cross-Up Murdering Demon”, and Time Sign “Mysterious Jack”, and her shot type in PCB unfocused is “Jack the Ludo Bile” and focused “Jack the Ripper”.

In other words, we have two supposedly unrelated characters who either ARE serial killers or have a serial killer theme, both of whom reference Jack the Ripper and wield some type of blade that they can conjure up dozens of whenever they wish (Scissors for Syo, knives for Sakuya) who were voiced by the same person.

Coincidence?

I think NOT.
