Episode 1 : Patience Is A Virtue ( Season 1) with @demsinclair
Confessional: I am happy to announce that Declan Michael was born on Thanksgiving Day. I had to endure an emergency labor because my son was ready to come out. He was right at 8lbs...a healthy baby boy; what Demetrius has always wanted. Itâs been a few weeks now and Iâm trying to bounce back physically and both mentally. Having Dem closer has helped tremendously.
{The camera pan and shows Stoni taking her son Declan out of his car seat and placed into her chest hammock for feeding. Dem is seen right by her side}
âWell this is it Papa bear.â The plump full lips of the woman kissed her husband as she prepared to give Declan his scheduled feeding. âSo how does it feel? You didnât get enough sleep last night. You okay?â She joked lightly. Declan was a CRY BABY literally and he probably hailed that from Stoniâs genes. He kept the both of them up all night and he was finally getting used to his new atmosphere. Not a peeping sound yet. Stoni was relieved. She couldnât say the same for her soul mate next to her. âIâll be on duty and you can get some rest. I know you have some important meetings coming up.â
[ "An all around family man is what I am these days. At times it gets stressful, but I have my son so I'm glad that the long nights are meaningful.]
Demetrius was beyond tired, and didn't know how he was going to finish up and be prepared for the meetings. Finding the perfect balance that kept his wife off his back, and his employees paid was still a challenge. Sinclair Records was still on the talent search only being open for a month now. Thousands of fans were reaching out, but he knew that his first artist was going to have to be amazing.
"I gotta stay up for a bit longer.." Dem yawned, covering his mouth and rubbing down his face. "Sace is coming through to discuss stuff with Passion, I got a meeting with Nya, and then on top of that me and you have that meeting at four with Elle magazine plus the run across town for your fitting for the Christmas show. You picked the producer you want?" He looked over at her.
When it came to business Dem was a shark.
{I have my reservations about Dem putting out any woman artist work before mine. Iâve already allowed him to get Passions work done because one, thatâs my best friend and I want the absolute best for her cause I know sheâd do the same for me. As far as Nya goes...sheâs okay, but I donât know her that well for me to step to the side AGAIN and wait. Itâs not happening. Period. Dot dot dot dot.}
âMmm...â Stoni shrugged. âAs long as my project gets done before all that, Iâm fine. No issues with me.â The new mom looked down at her baby and made sure he was comfortable before answering his series of Dem questions.
âI have to seek another producer out, Brim was going to handle that, but he got serviced, so tomorrow evening, Versace and I were going to see about Reggie. Now I know he has his own company but he is a producer as well and Iâm sure he has a lot of respect for you. Passion would agree.â Stoni looked at him. âFor once two companies can exist without drama and confusion.â
Stoni had a point. Before, there was a huge wave of dick throwing and the music was lost. Both Dem and Reginald were great moguls who both dreamed the same.
"Was Rome built in a day? I'm just now starting with the both of them. Your project is about to wrap up, simmer down."
["Now I know when it's come to music me and Stoni tend to fall out, but I can't shelf other artists with product because my wife's project isn't finished. They have to get a check too."]
Dem leaned over and kissed her cheek. He knew that it would take her time to get past previous trials, and tribulations but it would always annoy him. He felt like he was doing enough this go around to show and prove. When Elle came up in conversation he didn't hesitate to say his wife first. "If he's who you want you got it." He had no problems with Exodus, but he knew his reputation wasn't the best. Dem never spoke on what another man did or judged him, but his wife's brand was on the line and he wasn't going to let another man ruin that.
âIâm listening to you.â She leaned in as he kissed her cheek. âI know Rome wasnât built In a day, but Iâm serious. We have a nanny, Iâm ready to finish my album first.â Stoni had this monotonous voice to her. She was dead ass. âElle is good, but Elle isnât music, and my face and body is nice, always have been; that ainât the struggle. The struggle is that I am a sober drug free mother whoâs career is hanging on by a thread because her music hasnât been given to her fans. I need the acceptance, thatâs all.â
Demetrius didn't have it in him to go around in circles about this tonight. Sometimes his wife tried to act like she knew the business more than he did. He wasn't trying to constantly keep her face out front for no reason. "Fine then your off the cover, and I'll find somebody else who understands more goes into music than just the music. You have to get people talking about the music as well." The male got up from the bed, went inside his closet, and went over to the mini bar for a drink.
["Moments like this she irritates the hell out of me. People die to get on the cover of Elle to enter their targeted market and attract more fans, but if it doesn't mean as much to her than I'll pass it over to somebody who understands the value."]
Give it away then. BUT give it to someone who deserves it. Who actually has music out.
âDemetrius, it is what it is.â Stoni was finished feeding by this time and had Declan over here shoulder for a light burp session. âA long time ago, I would have hated you giving Elle to someone else but at this point, my music is more important and it really bothers me that you still donât understand how it makes me feel to be in the position I am in.â
She looked at him. âIâm not searching for a fight. As your wife, I should be able to tell you my worries without you getting irritable and scraping things that you do for me. I appreciate those things, I do. I want my music done first. You of all people should know how important that is to me.â
Demetrius was trying to keep his calm, because Stoni had his son but it felt like they were talking in circles. "For the second time, your album is practically finished so you worried about it getting finished first is the first problem, because finishing the project is on you. You've been telling me what producers you want and I've got them, so you keep talking like I ain't helping." The male could feel the tone of his voice changing and his mood no longer being nonchalant. When it came to artist completing their project that was on them. Dem was the owner of the label, so these days it was rare for him to produce. When she came to him with a body of work he would sell it, no marketing because she was acting as if that didn't matter. "I'm going down the hall I have other people's dreams to make come alive as well." Dem exited the room and walked down the hall to his office.
