i dont usually do posts like this but i really want to talk abt Robo ky in his arcade mode
Heres to say the more I learn about Robo ky as a new Guilty Gear fan the more I end up loving him (i got these from a video so if theres anything wrong or something i missed pls lmk)
So first off, he meets with Sin, and ofc Robo ky is rude to him and even calls him a brat, but when Sin compares him to his dad Robo ky gets pressed and wants to keep Sin around to prove to him how much better he is to Ky
even showing some slight concern as to how Ky took care of Sin (valid concern)
Overall he doesn't seem to mind Sin much, even agreeing when he wants to duel with both him and Ky, accepting his apology when asking for his tangerines, and he is more than happy to show off and impress Sin (to show hes better with ky) and we can even see this in one of their battle quotes where Sin asks him to "do that cool thing with your head again" and Robo ky tells him that he can do other, better, tricks!
Robo ky is more determined than ever to get that tangerine grove and ofc Venom is mentioned here and he freaks out and says hes doing this for himself but hopes hes jealous, he has a repeating pattern of acting like he doesnt care for others opinions (which he doesnt) but still wants their attention anyways like the drama king he is
And then the most important part imo, Ky no longer seems his as just a robotic replica of himself, and throughout all the games thats all that robo ky has been about, becoming confident and independent!
At first it was his moveset, non-serious attitude, then his developing personality, his hopes, dreams, and goals, killing bedman and helping Venom in also becoming independent and confident, and now finally in design.
I know i joke abt Robo ky and Venom alot, and yes i do ship them, but if im being honest Im not dissapointed at all with how they handled this bc it feels true to Robo ky's story. (Demi/aromantic robo ky anyone? 👀) And besides he never said he was leaving the bakery and he still does care about Venom, as previously mentioned he likes his attention and still now wants him to better himself as seen from robo ky's win battle quote against him, hes just being his own man and living his own life for himself!
And finally he meets with Delilah, this part was little awkard but again i got these from a showcase video but nonetheless his talk with Delilah is actually really cute, he's had talking with her on his mind for awhile and wanted to share things abt Romeo to her. He even compliments her multiple times as she supports his dream of the tangerine grove and asks what her dreams are.
Delilah keeps it a secret and Robo ky respects that, even telling her in the future he'll send some tangerines to her and for Delilah to share them with those closest to her which is honestly the most generous we've seen him in awhile
And new information; he's suprisingly well with kids! Hes not a dad in any way hes more like a morally questionable Uncle that js wants to have fun (And he Venom accidentally adopted both of Ky and Dizzy's kids)
Ik Robo-ky is a more of a comedic character throughout GG's game history but he never misses in those moments where hes real and raw about his views, dreams and confidence, especially in Xrd and now in Strive!
