The Denver Zine Library is a volunteer run no- profit that began in 2003. Located in Denver, Colorado hosting a collection of over 15,000 zines we are dedicated to the promotion of zines via access to our archives in the library, hosting zine workshops, various events throughout the city.

I made a risograph zine about grief, being in between, and what's left behind. Each one comes with a little pouch of poppy seeds to plant in memory of someone.

All the plants in When You Go are associated with the underworld in Greek mythology.

A Year in Review!

A Dungeon For Ants

Looking through my pictures from the year, I noticed the progression of A Dungeon For Ants.

First came a little handwritten zine in biro. Inspired by the harsh level 0 of DCC, tales of children messing with ants nests and Syd from Toy Story.

Next came my first attempt at laying out a zine digitally and printing. As you can see... it had its problems !

Then, I went back to layout for a bit. Neatened things up, gave it a bit more ✨️.

Re-printed and made a "mistake". Instead of printing double-sided on a4, I'd printed both sides, shrunk down to a5, on one side!

But this actually worked perfectly, I folded and glued the paper to give me a double-sided a5 sheet and made the zine as usual. It produced this tiny tiny zine, perfect for ants !

And now It has stolen The Queen. Taken her beyond the nest as one last cruel joke.

If the colony is to survive, you must find her.

it also says "the northen region of brazil, spefically my state of amapá, has always been my home and i'm grateful for it. the outside perspective that comes from other regions never sees us as protagonists or people beyond the steriotypes. taht's why, this exploration in zine form can also be titled "the forgetting as the memory", in relation to how we're viewed, or in fact not viewed at all, by people other than our own"
