it’s what he had EXPECTED. risky behavior followed along with a sour attitude, crude as it can possibly be. the words BITE, he cannot deny that truth— yet no such emotion was betrayed upon serene features. ❛ you did. ❜ a resolute answer. however, if kogami TRULY knew him— seimei was always the type to get involved where he was not needed. behind his words were the hint that no matter what the other had to say about his meddling, it would only CONTINUE.
❛ i think you’re grown enough to take care of yourself. ❜ what he had done was enough and kogami certainly did NOT look like the type who needed the other’s CONSTANT care and attention. he knew that this wasn’t the first time AND wouldn’t be the last time he suffered from such injures. ❛ plus— you ALWAYS say you don’t need my help. ❜
MAYBE it was petty to throw his words back at him, but it was needed.
⊳ though seimei’s expression remained unwavering, he could only imagine what his words had made him think. a tinge of regret snipes at kogami, but not for the first time he wonders to himself why people can never do as he asks. however, he could hardly put it past seimei, of all people, to not ignore him if he was down. it was just in his nature. calloused digits fumble around the stand beside him to grasp for his cigarettes and lighter, straightening up on the edge of the bed to light one and take a drag — if only to cement himself.
« that bothered you, huh? » it was almost amusing to have his words thrown back in his face, evident in the manner the corner of his lips twitched up. « not like i can stop you from doing the things you do, anyway. just wondered if there’s a better way you could be spending your time. »
