red hair is ruffled and sky blue eyes are blinking against the light as arthur enters the kitchen, newspaper clutched tightly in his hand. he has to stifle a yawn, a drowsy look on his face as he spots dorcas, sitting at his kitchen table. thereâs no point in pretending that heâs surprised ( heâs not ), but he gives her a curious look, wrapping his emerald green morning-robes closer around him. âbit early, donât you think?â he questions, pouring himself a cup of coffee. âis everything all right?â itâs a harmless question, but heâs carefully observing her reaction, looking for bad news.
âMusic really does have the power to move people. Like, for example, Celestina Warbeck is playing in this pub, so Iâm going to another pub.â
â guess i have to give my thanks to miss warbeck,â arthur replies dryly, a bitter taste lingering in his mouth as he glances over at the man. he lifts his butterbeer to his lips and takes a long sip, not liking the feeling of long term resentment that is overcoming him. arthur is not a mean man, but malfoy gets on his nerves. â and what kind of dodgy establishment will you frequent now, malfoy? âÂ
We're the biggest blood traitor family there is.
               PARENTS / BROTHERS:
001. Arthur was born out of wedlock to Cedrella Black and Septimus Weasley. He was unplanned ( and quite the surprise too ), and caused his parents to elope ( which they had ultimately planned to do anyways, but his birth hurried the process along ). After his birth, his mother was shunned by her relatives. Arthur has no ties to that side of the family, and has never met his maternal grandparents. Avoiding the Black family altogether is pretty much impossible though, so when he does run into a distant relative, he usually pretends not to know them.
002. He has two brothers, but is a strong believer in family not ending in blood. The people who have stood by him through everything, with years of loyalty and friendship, are family too. Arthur considers Alastor Moody to be just as much of a brother as Cedrellaâs younger sons. Later, Harry will become a seventh son.
003. Arthur is the eldest of three sons, and grew up looking out for them and protecting them as best as he could --- still, they all suffered bullying at Hogwarts due to their name and their familyâs reputation. Arthur tried to take it with a smile and a shrug, but he could see that his brothers were hurting. Over time, he worked out little ways to cheer them up, and tried his best to shield them from ridicule when he could.
004. Arthurâs parents both had low ranking ministry jobs that paid very little, so funds were always an issue growing up. His father (the youngest of seven sons) also cared for two of his older brothers, who were very sick and could not work, which put further pressure on their economy.
005. Cedrella and Septimus always put emphasis on kindness, tolerance, honesty and compassion. Anything less was not tolerated in the Weasley household, and it was a given that Arthur would grow up to respect muggles, half bloods, muggle borns and wizards alike. His parents did their best to raise good men ( and definitively succeeded with Arthur in my opinion ). Arthur is also very much proud to be a blood traitor, like his parents.
006. Once the war started, it was not long until Death Eaters came to his parentâs house, killing them and his live-in uncles. Since then, Arthur has theorized that they were disgruntled relatives of his mother, who had been lying in wait for revenge for years, and finally decided to act. Losing his parents was awful, and only cut deeper because he was a new father himself, and his sons would now have to grow up without their grandparents.
MOLLY & THE KIDS ( and other stuff bc what is organization ).
001. Arthur always wanted a big family. While growing up, surrounded by his fatherâs many brothers and countless cousins, feeling at peace in the chaos, he knew that heâd want the same for his house. His fatherâs side of the family were warm, welcoming and always had bright smiles on their faces that Arthur swore could light up the world. Many of his uncles / cousins lived close by to his parentsâ house, and he has happy childhood memories of visiting their homes, playing with their kids, eating their food, falling asleep in their couches.
002. At school, he met Molly, and slowly fell in love ---- after Hogwarts, they quickly married ( the war becoming a catalyst of sorts to make everything seem more urgent ). A few years later, they expected their first son ( and never really stopped after that ).
003. Molly and the kids are Arthurâs entire life --- they occupy his heart, his mind and his soul at all times. At work? Thinking about his family. Out on a mission? Still thinking about his family.Â
004. Arthur works long hours and tirelessly, but still canât quite make the family economy go around. And soon, kids will start needing school supplies ( which are... so expensive ). So money is definitively always an issue for them, but they do the best they can. Things like having a garden where they grow some of their own food definitively helps. Some of his cousins and uncles have also promised to lend out their school supplies when the time comes, which will help as well.
the baby is sleeping peacefully in his arms, small snores emitting from his nose as arthur gently rocks him back and forth. he hasnât been able to take his eyes off him --- but he wants his best friend to be the first one to see the latest weasley miracle. so he opens the door carefully, glancing over his shoulder at his wife who is sound asleep, and wiggles out, strong arms protecting ronald from the outside world. heâs not ready to put him down yet --- as long as he holds him, heâll be safe, shielded from the horrors of war. blue eyes spot their friends, and he breaks into a smile - just seeing the amount of support they have is enough to make his heart warm. especially during times like this, when he knows how busy people are. spotting alastor, he gives him a slight nod in an unspoken request for the other man to come with him. they walk into an empty exam room, and arthur sinks into one of the chairs, finally allowing himself to feel just how EXHAUSTED he is ---- how long has it been since he slept? he canât remember. âthought molly could get some rest,â he says, shrugging as he meets his friendâs gaze, his eyes soft. âhow did it go with the kids? everyone behave?â he pauses, shooting alastor a grateful look. they both know how much it means to arthur that alastor looks after the kids when arthur and molly canât --- thereâs no one arthur trusts more with them.Â
Arthur works at the ministry, as the head of the misuse of muggle artefacts office. Itâs a small office with a low budget, and itâs very hard to find, stowed away out of sight, out of mind. It is located on the second floor ( on the other side of the improper use of magic office ).
The office itself is barely an office, and looks more like a broom closet. It is very small, and only fits two desks, a small bookshelf and a seating area. It has no windows, and is poorly lit (Arthur has asked for windows, but was turned down by the ministry). Moving around the office is practically impossible (Perkins and Arthur are used to it). The office itself is also a little shabby looking, and in need of some renovations. The wallpaper is beginning to flake and fade a little bit, and the furniture looks outdated. Arthur clearly does not spend his budget on the office, and instead puts it towards things he deems more important than material possessions.
Filing cabinets line the walls, and are overflowing with different reports and official documents ( even though the cabinets have been enchanted to fit more than theyâre supposed to, itâs still not enough. Both Arthur and Perkins are the type of men to that keep careful and methodical paperwork. The office also gets a surprising amount of complaints from concerned citizens that need to be filed. )
The walls are decorated with muggle images (cut outs from car magazines, a poster of a bicycle, a diagram explaining how to wire a plug, pictures of post boxes, a drawing of a rubber duck) as well as pictures of his family. There are also drawings made by his children.
On his desk stands an old toaster oven (prone to the hiccups), and a small plant. There is also a photograph of the whole Weasley family standing together, smiling and waving at the camera.
There is a small seating area behind Perkinsâ desk. It consists of two crammed and beat up arm chairs that stand awkwardly next to each other. A small wooden coffee table stands next to one of the arm chairs, and on it thereâs a coffeepot (that is always brewing, so the office always smells like freshly made coffee).
The office would probably be less messy if it wasnât so small, but there isnât a lot of room for them to put things, so his desk is always cluttered with paperwork, coffee stained newspapers, filed reports, incoming mail etc. Arthur navigates the best he can with what heâs got. Heâs not one to complain.
Arthur works in the office along with his assistant, Perkins. Perkins has a slightly smaller desk that stands opposite Arthurâs. They along well and have worked together for quite a few years now, so Arthur considers him a good friend.
His work doesnât just include being shut in his office. He also partakes in regular raids (usually nightly ones) to investigate incidents surrounding the misuse of muggle artifacts (eg. regurgitating toilets, biting toasters, disappearing keys). Heâs also tasked with performing an anti jinx on the object in question, and then proceeds to write a lengthy report about it.Â
Arthur is very passionate about his department. Much of the issues he deals with are seen as unimportant by a majority of the magical community, but he has invested his soul into his work.
Vandalism against muggles ( by hexing their belongings, playing cruel pranks on their homes etc ) doesnât sit well with Arthur, as heâs well aware of the underlying prejudice behind it. He
He doesnât get a lot of visitors at work, mostly because of the officeâs location, but Alastor Moody does come around every now and then.
Lunch is usually eaten at his desk with Perkins as company. Arthur eats the same thing everyday. Two sandwiches, a banana and an apple. On Fridays, he also eats biscuits.
This is what I came up with when #trying to build his office in Sims (it was hard and it should be a little bit smaller but sims wouldnât let me sO):
a small baby hand clasps around arthurâs finger, and a gentle smile appears on his lips as he gazes down on his sixth son, who is sleeping peacefully in his arms. âheâs beautiful,â he whispers, eyes locking with his wifeâs. it has been about two hours since ronald bilius weasley came into the world, and arthur knows that the waiting room of st mungos is filled with people eager to see the baby. soon, theyâll introduce them to their son. but for now, the world is still standing still --- and arthur would like to keep it that way for a little longer. he sits down on the edge of the hospital bed, careful to not wake ronald.... which proves easier said than done. the babyâs bright blue eyes ( which match arthurâs perfectly ) fly open, and he stares at his father, blinking a few times, before proceeding to emit a loud scream. used to the trials of newborns, arthur lets out a short chuckle and hands the baby to molly. âi think he wants his mom.â
arthur tends to become slightly OVERBEARING whenever his wife nears the end of yet another pregnancy --- but heâs trying not to be. heâs currently sitting at the kitchen table, pretending to read a newspaper while he glances in his wifeâs direction every few seconds. the baby is supposed to arrive any day now --- and perhaps even at any minute. he takes a sip from his coffee cup ( the liquid long since cold ), and flips the page of the paper absentmindedly, not having read a single word. âmolls?â he questions, glasses sliding down his nose. he forces his voice to be calm and collected even though heâs eager with both anticipation and worry. theyâre having another kid in the middle of a war that seems unwinnable - some anxiety is to be expected, even for someone like arthur. âyou think today is the big day?â he asks, trying to remain casual.Â
If there was aything that Molly could manage even in the worst of times was get him to smile, it was much better than nothing. âJust lucky I guess.â
smile grows wider, eyes radiating warmth as he watches her. his wife is the only person in the world who can make him go from a state of extreme worry to complete serenity with just a couple of words --- and god only knows how much he needs that. âright. and as long as weâre together...â he begins, but doesnât finish the line of thought. he doesnât have to say anything, they both already know what they mean to each other.
âIf youâre just gonna mock me, could you move along, please?â With less than a week till her due date Molly was far too exhausted and her feet hurt far too much to be waddling around the burrow chasing after her kids. She knew that it did not come from a mean place, in fact she did not know if Arthur was capable of being mean at all but she was not in the best of moods. âStay, I need your help getting up.â Trying to get off the couch by herself had failed miserably for the last ten minutes now and if he wasnât going to help her Molly has officially given up.
arthur knows all too well that his wife has a tendency to become a little.... temperamental at the end of every pregnancy, so heâs trying his best to be accommodating. though now it seems that he has failed. again. he gives her a sheepish smile and puts down the tea kettle. âiâm sorry, molls,â he says, offering her his arm, pulling her to her feet. though after a few seconds of thought, he musters up some courage and tries to persuade her yet again. â would it really be the worst thing in the world if you got some help for a week? â he asks carefully, bright blue eyes watching her tentatively, a nervous look on his face. â just you know, until the baby is born. someone to help with the kids while iâm at work? âÂ
WHERE do they live? which town? is it a flat, a big estate, a terraced house
- Arthur lives right outside the small town of Ottery St Catchpole, which is located on the outskirts of Devon, England. His house, named the Burrow, was originally a tiny house ( in Tudor style ) with rather large, stone pig pen on the side, in which the Weasleys took up residence. Over the years, they have been adding onto the house to accommodate their ever growing family -- mainly building upwards. Thus, the house looks very unsteady ( like itâs ready to collapse at any second ), but magic holds it together.Â
- The house also looks a bit odd and mismatched, since the Weasleys have been using whatever they can afford or get their hands on ( through the help of friends ) to expand the building. Many materials can be spotted ( brick, metal plates, wood, stone ... ).
- The house lays a bit further away from the neighboring houses, between two hills. It is surrounded by trees and rocks, and thereâs a small river running through their backyard, which leads to a pond. There is plenty of room outside for the kids to play, and the plot is closed off by bushes ( in which garden gnomes hide, always causing trouble ). The garden itself is largely overgrown, and not regularly tended to.
why do they live there? how come they started living there?
- The house was sold to them for a ridiculously low price by an elderly wizard who was fleeing the country because of the looming war (and just wanted to get rid of his estate, fast).
- When they first got the house, there was only one bedroom in the main building, and then a large pig pen right outside it. Eventually, the main house was turned into a garage / storage unit, and the pig pen was turned into the living area.
tell us more about the decoration of the house
- The Burrowâs interior does not have a clear theme, as most of the stuff is either second hand, gifted by friends, family heirlooms, things that were on sale and so on. The aura of the home is very cozy and homey, and all visitors receive a warm welcome.Â
- The roof is pretty low on the bottom floor, and the walls are a mix of wood and stone bricks. Everything is pretty crammed together, and the Weasleys have learned over time how to move around the space without bumping into each other.
- A wide array of magical objects lie around the house. The Burrow runs largely on magic, both thanks to Molly and Arthur, who are both very inventive in how to make their everyday lives easier. Some inventions are admittedly more useful than others though.
- Some of the magical objects are: ⢠the family clock that keeps track of all the Weasleys and their safety and whereabouts ⢠a screaming tea kettle ⢠another clock, that reminds the Weasleys of tasks they have to do, like feeding the chickens ⢠a book shelf that puts books away by itself ( books can be seen floating through the house ) ⢠brooms that sweep by themselves ... the list goes on.
- There are at least six floors, and they are currently working to expand it further.Â
whatâs their favourite room?
- Though not part of the house, Arthurâs favorite room is definitively his garage. He keeps all of his fun stuff ( the Ford Anglia, lightbulbs, rubber ducks, toaster ovens, screw drivers, a rusty old bicycle, an old muggle phone... the list goes on ) in there. He spends quite some time taking them apart and trying to put them together again, and has also enchanted quite a few objects, to varying success. Never intending to use them though, of course ( gotta stay within the perimeters of the law ! )
if they have close-by neighbours, whatâs their relationship with them?
- Though the neighbors donât actually live that far away, it appears as if they do because of the landscape. The village has steep hills, going up and down, concealing all the houses from view. Arthur and Molly live in the middle of two steep hills.
- They get on well with the neighbors they do have. When they were younger, and had more time, Arthur was in the habit of taking a morning stroll to the Lovegood house ( an approximate thirty minute walk away ).
how much time do they actually spend there?
- Arthur is a busy guy. He splits his time between the Order ( though he currently mostly works intelligence for them ), his job at the Ministry and his family, so he doesnât spend that much time at the Burrow. He comes home from work late, sometimes has to attend an Order meeting... heâs stretched pretty thin. But he always tries to spend as much time as he can there with his family.
how messy is it?
- At first glance, the house definitively appears messy, since there is stuff literally everywhere. But itâs an organized mess, and they keep the house clean.Â
do they have house elves?
- No, and he could never have one either since it goes against his moral code.
anxious fingers fiddle with the buttons of his coat as he makes his way through the masses of people trying to find their loved ones. the snow storm is finally over, but he has heard no word from molly yet. he tries to not FEAR the worst, but during times like this... itâs hard not to. war does funny things to a person, after all. he straightens his tie nervously, eyes peering into the crowd. âmolly?â he calls out, accidentally shoving someone to the side as he pushes through. he mutters an âexcuse meâ, but doesnât stop to help the person back up, even though he normally would. finding molly and the kids comes first. after a few more minutes of frantic searching, he spots that familiar red mane of hair in the distance -- a sigh of relief escaping his lips as she turns around. quickly, he looks her up and down ( yep, still pregnant. thank god ), before hurrying towards them. â i thought, â he starts, but heâs out of breath. he has barely been breathing since the doors to st mungos opened back up. â i thought you had the baby without me, â he finally manages to get out, and falls into a hug, exhausted arms wrapping around her.
â i donât think the type of help i could give would be all thatâŚhelpful, â he said, a cold, wry smirk forming on his face. he wasnât good in a crisis, if a snow storm could even be called that. he was used to dealing with things on his own, lending a hand to a few select people in his circle because if they went down he went down with them. it was a system that made sense. thisâŚthis was just wasting energy. energy that was quickly sapping from him every time he tried to see if he could reach his sister on the mental radio. all he got was panicked feedback from everyone around him. no luck. it was driving him up the walls.
â besides, you seem to have everything under control on your one man mission. iâd probably justâŚget in the way. â
" thatâs a bullshit excuse, â arthur says, annoyance sharp in his voice. he hardly ever curses, but the other man is getting UNDER his skin. what kind of person stands idly by when others are in need of help? he narrows his eyes, a soft sigh escaping his lips. heâs too tired to argue. â thanks, but itâs not a one man mission, â he finally says, his gaze wandering across the room, landing on one alastor moody.Â
" are you being unhelpful on purpose? â arthur asks, his features weary, his eyes tired. by now, he has given up hope on finding molly ( he just prays that she is somewhere safe ), and is instead doing his best to make the lives of the people at the hospital easier. helping people find shelter and their loved ones seems like an important enough task, and it annoys arthur that everyone does not seem to be taking it seriously. â during times like this... â he mutters, shaking his head slightly, disapproving gaze landing on liam.
