Dean literally drives me CRAZY because he’s like…….Sam is mine in every sense of the word- that means he’s mine to take care of, mine to have, and even mine to hurt. If someone is going to hurt him it will be me, and then I will be the one to tend to those wounds that I made. I am his cause and his effect. I sew up his gashes and then press my thumb into them until they bleed to remind him that I am his foundation and then I dress those wounds again. Love is possession. “if i didn’t have you” is so suffocatingly possessive compared to “if i didn’t have you in my life” or “i didn’t have you with me”, both options the writers could have easily chosen but they didn’t. they went with “if i didn’t have you” because they know that’s the extreme level at which dean wants and loves sam.
