I know a lot of games have you playing as ✨️superhuman badasses✨️ but the way it's being presented in Devil May Cry is especially entertaining to me. We've got these demon boys, and they're duct taping jet engines to their swords. The item description is like "yeah this is a stupid idea but by virtue of its wielder being stronger than a frieght train its somehow working as intended. No one else would think of this because most people live in a world of normal physics." Other characters have to learn spells and do little tricks to upgrade their movement tech, but when Dante wants to run faster, he simply runs faster. Doublejump is a state of mind. I almost feel bad for these demons I'm fighting, because I too would fly into an enraged state if I tried to throw a car at this white haired brat and he walked it off by doing a little comedy skit about it. This one family is running around with nigh unlimited physical power and instead of styling themselves in the image of gods they're channeling the immortal legacy of Bugs Bunny.

Can we please stop referring to Dante as “the red-clad devil,” “the half-devil,” “the white haired man,” etc. JUST USE HIS NAME.

Those are called epitaphs and they throw the reader out of the story. They never fail to make me roll my eyes. If you were to pick up a random fiction book, you would see very little epitaphs in actual use.

If you are worried about using their names + pronouns a bunch, then switch up your syntax.

if ultimate demonic power can manifest in an evil little fruit and many devils crave power, and many demons in dmc are bug shaped, including sparda himself, and also the whole apple in eden thing. do u think demons are naturally predisposed to craving fruit like bugs are, and what does this say about dante and his strawberry thing. i mean ive mentioned before i headcanon it as him having an attachment to the color red that stems from childhood, but also what if its because buge demon. i dont know if i even subscribe to this Fruit Craving Demons thought myself but its a fun idea. on a side note, personally i very heavily relate the sparda family to butterflies. sparda as a purple emperor, dante as a monarch butterfly, and vergil as a blue morpho. i might get into this at some point Maybe. my personal vision of their dts is butterfly influenced. anyway mmmmm fuit. something about consuming earthly fruits as a way to sate the craving for the ultimate apple of turbo devil power. thats what i have to say on this today.

Something that bothers me about the Aro/Ace headcanon for Dante is who is saying he is and how they are saying it. A lot of people in this fandom say that Dante is Asexual because he doesn’t have interest in sleeping with the women around him and there is so much wrong with that way of thinking. It reduces Lady, Trish, Lucia, and Beryl down to objects to lust over instead of close friends to Dante.

Then because of Dante’s relationship to these women, people have questioned whether Dante knows what sex is in the first place. It’s obvious where this line of thinking comes from, “Dante must be Asexual and since he is Ace he must be an infant who doesn’t know what sex is.” It feeds into the stereotype of asexual’s being immature for their sexual identity.

Again, please headcanon Dante as Ace/Aro but examine your beliefs as to why. Might find that it relies on sexism and mild homophobia.

personally i do think dante and lady slept together once post-dmc3. keyword: once. they were both lonely and Extremely drunk and it went horribly. dante probably ended up crying. neither of them brings it up afterward

Eva was the "steady hand" of the Sparda family. I swear I can perfectly see Sparda letting the twins do almost anything; those boys could completely destroy a tree and Sparda would barely blink. It's very difficult to stress or irritate this man. Don't get me wrong, he would still give punishments and monologues reprimanding the twins, but it would be after Eva explained why what the boys were doing was dangerous or wrong. So, Eva was the one who took the reins and balanced things out. And honestly, the biggest problem the twins caused was destroying some furniture with their super strength, but that was largely because they didn't know how to control it properly as children. So, it was these two parents discovering how to deal with half-demon children.

Dante and Vergil look about as old in Visions of V as they do in the family portrait in DMC5. Which tells us Sparda died just a bit earlier than Eva.

Back on my bullshit, the twins had MUCH longer hair than I think a lot of people thought they did back in DMC3. Being able to spin the models around & turn off certain layers like their jackets & stuff, their hair is shoulder-length. You can't see all of it due to their jackets but when you remove that, yeah they have shoulder-length hair & messy bangs. It's long enough to easily be braided or put in a low pony tail or otherwise styled in something like that.

I love love LOVE the idea of Dante having so many demonic instincts rattling around in his head-

He tries not to be too weird but also he doesn't really care. Sure he doesn't want to be completely utterly off putting, but not only can he not hide all of it why would he?

Everyone who's spent more than 10 minutes around him knows something just not quite right. But he's not hurting anymore so it's not really an issue. So it's just one of those things everyone kinda knows.

Everyone knows Capulet has demons in it they just also so happen to have one that's pretty chill. They don't exactly know his whole deal but they got a pretty good idea.

The "sweet" taste isn't something you find in hell, which makes me think Sparda loved sweets. Be it chocolate, candies, cakes, etc. Oh, but nothing surpassed caramel for him; he loved anything with caramel. The boys inherited this passion for sweets; I mean, Dante has his strawberry sundae, and I'm almost certain Vergil would absolutely love blondies and brownies. But the most impressive is Nero. This boy smells like diabetes; – And believe me, Kyrie doesn't help that she's such a great cook; seriously, her desserts are straight from heaven to bless any poor soul who puts a spoonful in their mouth. – he inherited Sparda's passion for caramel. He carries caramel candies all the time and always seems to have some candy in his mouth. It's shocking (like, The twins were lost in a spiral of thought when they realized – almost at the same time – Nero's passion and that uncanny resemblance to his grandpa).

But I don't think it's just the Sparda lineage; Trish also likes sweets, but for some reason, it's the sour candies or those typical Halloween corn candies from the USA. It really doesn't make much sense.
