The city was throwing Artys off of their usual standard of a ‘hunt’. Lights and sounds and open sky all demanding the Crawlers attention. It wasn’t hard to get lost in the city, but on the Surface it wasn’t hard to get lost anywhere, so they refused to panic and stuck to the dark back-alleys instead. They’d spotted the stranger a while back, and the smell of something so inhuman had sparked their interest. They trail behind her, following the scent they couldn’t quite name, their senses filtering out other scents to hone in their target . Artys hasn’t smelt something like this for a while. They weren’t hungry, just curious - she didn’t look anything like them, but it was better than making attempts to avoid humans. Even if she looked like one on the outside.

Damage
Put a word in my ask and I will write a Headcanon about it for my Muse.
They can do a lot of damage. Everything about Artys is adapted to kill and survive in their environment; their claws, their heightened senses and hardened skin, ect. It would be easy for them to massacre people, regardless of what weapons were used against them. Artys discovers that humans are a lot different to creatures in the Depths though, so they tend to only deal that damage when it’s a life or death situation.

Message received. Nestor backs off them to the opposite site of the room and takes a seat. Her legs fold in and her hands settle in her lap, folding and unable to be used to reach for the weapon she does not have on her. This was risky - dangerous, she shouldn’t be leaving herself so vulnerable. Never be caught unaware, it was a big rule and one her survival often depended on.
Problem is the compassion in her wouldn’t stand another moment of frightening or angering the stranger. She was so much smaller than they were, her neck in one of their hands could break so easily it was nearly funny just thinking about it. Patiently she waited, amber eyes switching between glancing at them and staring at the ground - noting their foot pattern while trying not to cause further discomfort by outright watching them.
Their move.
When the human backs away, the noise in their throat dies down to a low grumble. Artys still stands tall, watching her sit down. They didn’t look entirely sure of the situation; what they did know was that this human was related to it -- and it was unlikely she was on their side. At the same time, she didn’t seem to be much of a threat. The creature relaxed slightly. Though still a giant compared to the human, a hunched posture made them look far less intimidating. It’s clear that they’re out of their depth. They decide to move forward in the end (one hand went out to grab the chair they’d thrown previously, pulling it with them as they walked). The broken seat was put back where they had torn it from, before Artys turned their gaze to the woman. “Let me out.”
