Here’s a review of the Charmed Reboot trailer done by @impossible-princess.

I love the in-depth discussion of the names, and while I think it was a matter of the producers going er… the others were Ps so we’ll make these ones Ms because there are a lot of M names we can use, I still enjoyed listening, because that analysis stuff’s good for my soul.

If you give it a listen, please reblog or comment with your thoughts so we can have a discussion.

Personally, as I’ve already said to IP, the part that resonated with me the most was the comment at the beginning about how the mother is telling them how important their bond is rather than the show showing us. Imagine if we were to see the sisters singing together, or having a cool fist bump thing, or having some perfect morning routine where everything was synchronized (one gets out the milk while the other’s pouring the coffee and they switch bowls because they have the wrong cereal oh my HEART).

When I watched the preview I was astonished by how everything looked and sounded cheap. Really this does not seem good (even though I’m gonna watch the first episode to verify my first impressions) and I really don’t see the point of all of this reboot anyway soo… yup, pessimism is here.

To add to the “M” names thing, the Stillman sisters that stole the Charmed Ones’ identities in S6 are also “M” names. I’m sure the creators of the reboot did not intend this parallel, but I find it very amusing.
