Rosalie was, in short, bored. It had only been a few days since she returned from her latest assignment, assigned to the kidnapping and subsequent torture of a US agent for information. Perhaps she was so restless as this one hadnât ended in a kill, didnât give her the satisfaction of closure. No, instead the agent was whisked off by the schoolâs contacts with the excuse that the woman could be used as a good bartering tool. Boring.
Yuri had been distant as of late, too. Had she been around more, she would have looked into it earlier, but worked had called. She made a mental note to dig into that later; right now she planned on scratching the itch that her latest trip had left her with.Â
So, she took herself to one of the classier places in Vero Beach, a bar that expected you to dress like you had all the money you told the girls there you had. It was when she was laughing at another dull joke, a carefully practiced grin on her face as she listened to the man quickly approaching middle age trying to woo her, that she noticed him. Had she not been trained to, Rosalie would have dismissed the feeling that she knew the man. Instead, she split her time between keeping the man she was speaking to around long enough to buy her drinks and watching the stranger (who wasnât a stranger, she was sure).Â
Her suitor excused himself so he could visit the bathroom, and her eyes fell on the man again. He caught her this time and, rather than shy away, she raised her glass to him, a smirk slowly crawling onto her face as she maintained eye contact with him.

Things were going well since Dimitri arrived in Vero Beach; much more successful than he had expected. It turns out there was a lot of amoral business in Florida, perfect for him. His sister seemed to be enjoying herself, too. Not only was she helping him out, she was embracing the nightlife more than he thought she would.Â
All in all, things were good. Dimitri had just finished a meeting with a potential client and now he was at the bar, waiting for his sister to join him. She had text saying she wouldnât be long, so he ordered himself a drink assuming he wouldnât be alone for much longer. However, five minutes after texting she wouldnât be long, she sent him a text saying she had other plans with someone else. Sending her a quick âfuck youâ, he planned to finish his drink and head home, until someone caught eye contact with him.
At first, he furrowed his brow, though his face soon relaxed when she raised her glass to him. Considering he was sure she was just with someone, he thought it was quite odd, but that didnât stop him from getting up and walking over to her. âYou look lonely.â He told her, taking a seat where her current company had been sat. He hoped they would return and see Dimitri sat with her; it would make for an interesting night. âWhereâs your friend gone?â He asked, taking a small sip of his drink.
