trying to piece together events in recallahollowheart (founders archive part two)

hello, this is a continuation of some recallahollowheart analysis i did regarding the first founders archive posted on fliesofthelord's tumblr. i am going to be analyzing the second chunk of archive!!

once again, don't look at this if you wanna see everything for yourself first. find the post with the second zip file, and if you're stumped on the riddle then the comments have the answer. the answer to it though can actually be found in the first part of the archive ^_^

~TEXT FILES 1~

SpiralingDreams - this comes first chronologically, so i'm gonna talk about it before the videos. modified on november 5, 2009, so 14 days after '5', the latest modified file in archive 1 (maybe apart from the readme, but we can't know for sure because of katanas' edits). this seems to be written by lucas (lucaz/lucazT93). we know it wouldn't be john (zombie/zombiegojira) since the text mentions him by name. and really, it would only make the most sense at this point in time. post-SFOTH eclipse, lucas can't escape the stars. they would've been the only two to know the depths of it at this point in time (in the anti-night related group of folks)

this file seems much more personal than the one with his full name, while continuing on with the themes that affixed themselves to lucas in that previous file, like thinking about online connections and a having a need to not be forgotten. perhaps with the second paragraph, lucas is describing how existence feels after receiving the information in the eclipsed SFOTH? there's a loss of people, but i'm wondering how literal that is. there's a general sense of emptiness.

based on the last bit in the third paragraph, perhaps this way of thinking was something that affected lucas before the eclipsing? perhaps he's always felt that there was a fragility to online connection, and this is just something that was able to be explored further after exploring SFOTH. maybe lucas was just generally more contemplative about various things than he let on, but that's more akin to speculation. though this contemplation kinda continues to show itself with the fourth paragraph :o

fourth paragraph tells us that lucas still has something to hold onto, his memory of john! yay!! maybe not yay though...it appears they suffer some strange abstract fate :( (subtle foreshadowing). it's an interesting anecdote to include, but it helps to develop the theme of dreams in the file. i wonder how lucas visualized john...i suppose we don't know if they ever saw each other's faces or whatnot, but i could find it plausible if lucas' brain crafted a depiction of him based on whatever description(s) he might've gave him in conversation. they were close enough buddies so whatever's possible i guess :p. it'd be funny if it was just their avatars in the dream but y'know that would make sense in a way. guess we'll never know...depending on how long ago this dream took place, it seems rather ominous regarding what their future held. i wonder what "his face was gone" means, or how lucas knew he couldn't breathe. maybe they were underwater, drowning (basing this on the "platform or raft" comment). i suppose if his face was gone then he couldn't have breathed with his mouth or nose either though X] just seems like a pretty ominous message. a warning, almost. but kinda sweet too? the details make it a bit heartwrenching. it's the amusement park that john talked about specifically...

"knowing something that knows you" assuming the influence. "empty space has a life behind the void" hmm...i suppose what they jumped into in SFOTH was pretty much a void. the influence itself is a simple structure, but how it affects people is it's "life". he'd see the towers...stars...ohhh golly...."is my heart beating this hard...or because of something else?" the last comment probably refers to the influence as i think it does have some sort of heartbeat. just wonder what lucas is referring to in that other comment. cmon dudester...how should i interpret your undoing at the seams...

last paragraph kinda derails, becoming more stream of consciousness by the end. and of course we have the subtle LOOK AT THE STARS message. but also a random capitalized L? it probably doesn't mean anything. but this last paragraph seems to explain lucas' (and assuming john's too) reasoning, dare i say their exigence for continuing to later explore the eclipsed SFOTH. "or is it really we only understand them when they present themselves to us" reminiscent of their fall into the void...much of this is, really. aghh and the consequences are affecting him both mentally and physically. please eat, lucas... :(. "it was there" so perhaps they saw something related to the influence in their fall and are trying to get back to it again, to make sense of it, to cure their restlessness. by the feeling of inevitability, maybe he finds it inevitable for them to try and explore again? or the inevitability of the dreams. both things are intense and unknowable. and it hurts cause of the fear and cause of that intensity. poor dude...

i don't even know if i caught this the first time i looked at it. "I will not forget myself and that I want to keep moving." there is a sense of hope that can be found from this exploration, the need to remember, the need to be able to...recall...but NOT a hollow heart! to recall himself!! let's see how that goes, shall we?

~VIDEOS~

'6' - The order of the archive collection must be why the recallahollowheart upload of this is called '6 Reupload Attempt'. but reupload...reupload to where? i just thought to question that...it's three days after the date in the description of the mortal kombat video. oh, and katanas' readme edits were done two days before that! interesting...i feel like this can also be tied to him. the archivist, y'know? archiving stuff. but i suppose if john originally recorded it, it was him who uploaded it somewhere. maybe on his channel? dang, i didn't think about this stuff till now...anyhow:

SFOTH EXPLORATION TIMELINE (part 1):

Exploration 1: Captured in '4', done on October 23, 2009. Lucas and Zombie explore the eclipsed SFOTH, eventually falling into a void-like area.

Exploration 2: Captured in '6', done on November 17, 2009, 24 days after exploration 1.

BACK TO 6:

this starts with lucaz and zombie already in the game. they seem to have a good idea of how the influence has changed the place, but chances are they're also describing how it has affected them personally. the headaches...oh, and the heartbeat! and confirmation that they have probably been talking to each other about the exploration 1 occurrence during the time between each file modification. "felt like what we spoke of..." what'd they speak of, and how is the beat different from that? is it even? @_@ "maybe it's not ours," like they're hearing various influence towers from who knows where? i feel like "saw one" could refer to a tower but idk. it's worth it to them to further explore because they are being personally affected by the influence. "if it has a heart" say that again...such an unfair situation. and veeery subtle forshadowing. "we could be gone tomorrow".

i don't really know how the text files factor into this, but lucaz seems very lucid here. maybe talking to zombie kept him more grounded in reality. the talk about regular conversation gets me to think, if the '93' in lucaz's username refers to his birth year, then that means he (and likely zombie and killer, though i personally feel like killer is slightly younger, kinda like sixty with purple and dragon. the comment about his mom leads me thinking that the most, though maybe it's just a case of stricter parents or whatever. tangent over!) was probably like...15-16 during all of this? maybe 17? which is like, aughhhh......they had so much ahead of them...also while we're here, lucas's full name? BALLER!! lucas torrence. lucas atlas torrence. the sheer swagger of it...and john's is pretty cool too i guess lol. though considering all of that, 'lucazT93' is a rather...upfront username X]

"don't know anybody else ive related to like this" dude.........oh and i guess here is where we learn about zombie's name being john for the first time. the closeness they express here is only further punctuated with the stuff in the files, you really feel that bond...it makes this one of the most tragic parts of recallahollowheart to me X[. it makes sense that lucaz feared this inevitability. they don't even know the odds of their situation, so they're automatically stacked against them. but zombie's right, with such a strange and intense situation they have to deal with, it makes it all the more special that they decide to go at it together. with that emotional downpour in mind, what do we get next? "ladies first," never change zombie. and welp...back to business X[

~I FORGOT 7 WAS A TEXT FILE SO THIS IS TEXT FILES 2~

'7' - modified on November 20, 2009, so three days after '6'. interesting. i suppose the chat logs themselves could've taken place earlier, but once again, i dunno! but regardless it seems like they saw something more notable in their second exploration. maybe they saw the influence in greater detail. this is the point where killer gets ownership, so maybe the readme was written after this point. i suppose after this lucaz and zombie go into SFOTH for a third time, warning killer to be aware, but stay away. they can't go back, but they need someone to remain to keep searching if something happens to them. killer is very reluctant about taking on their work, but we know that he's grown very accustomed to his role even just a few years later. of course, he was probably motivated by the work and sacrifice of his good friends. he seems to have matured in the dragondudes3 anti-night videos, which makes sense in general as he's probably a young adult by then. "its going to happen" talking about so much but so little...aghhh.....it??? oh wait like killer will have to be a part of it? or get the same problems as them? this is very much like, the point of no return for lucaz and zombie. but this time zombie seems to be more shaken than lucaz. there's a strong sense of desparation in general. WAIT HANG ON. the bit at the bottom makes it seem like maybe it was added after the chat logs, maybe changing around the modified date order of the files. maybe the chat logs happened before '6'? but i feel like this could've happened after too. it's just really hard to piece together the exploration bits...but that last bit was written by zombie. but "come back lucas"...this seems reminiscent of events later on in the month...but it wouldn't make sense with the date modified timeline...aghhhhh x_x. it could perhaps be him reminiscing on letting lucas go into the portal in general. but it feels VERY associated with later events..."i can't remember" maybe at this point the headaches became really overwhelming of memory. killer could've remembered due to seeing less. and he probably does.

~VIDEOS~

8 - nice crisp 3 am recording (oh no, the spooky hour!). considering the date of the recording (November 22, 2009, two days after '7') it would make sense if this was a third exploration, but it just starts in a similar place that they were when they teleported in '4', so it could potentially be a continuation of that? the timing of it makes me feel like this is a third exploration. they're trying to navigate the maze area...i think they find an influence tower. "the thing in the distance" is now right in front of them. it doesn't seem to affect them much? they just keep exploring.

FIRST VIDEO CUT: (00:46) - glitches for a LONG time. maybe sounds during it could be a code? idk?? the chat also stays very glitchy, with the top of zombie's screen like that too. it doesn't seem to have skipped much, as they are still navigating, and that is what they were doing before the cut.

"Kind of hear" perhaps they're being guided by some sort of noise? "Usually" usually what? darn cuts X[. i wonder why these videos have been cutting? classic influence interference i guess. makes me wonder how these were recovered and in what condition they were found.

SECOND VIDEO CUT: (01:34) - long cut, similar style to the first. maybe the length and intensity of the interference shows how close they are to the influence. or like, the core of it, or something. the HEART of it..you can see like a FRAME of bridge in the middle of the glitching...then footage is back...ish. oh wait, based on the chat logs, we can tell not much time passed! zombie's "there's so many paths" message can be seen at the top. and i guess lucaz' "Usually" refers to him going with gut instinct. one question answered! yay! it's nice seeing zombie's trust in lucaz. though really i suppose there's not much else they can d- another cut???

THIRD VIDEO CUT: (02:00) - similar style as the others. even LONGER!! shows more footage in between. caught some frame on a pause and it's just zombie walking up to lucaz. with the chat blocked out :[. sigh...they find like a house of some sorts? i'm not a SFOTH og so i dunno if that's like a place there but i kinda doubt it. WAIT I CAN SEE CHAT MESSAGES

lucaz: "Okay so something ___" / zombie: "actual map th___" / lucaz: "I played this a bit"

so like it might be a reference to something or real itself? i wouldn't know X[. maybe you would? also to the player menu, lucaz's name is completely redacted while zombie's is just a little visible. could be a coincidence, but... :[

alrighty, there is an upstairs! coolio! and chat is redacted! ahhhh!! WAIT AGAIN WE CAN SEE WHAT ZOMBIE TYPES IN THE BOTTOM CHAT PREVIEW THINGY. and i guess we always could have, whoops. hope i haven't missed anything subtle yet critically important...back to the vid...is there like, a door creaking sound at 02:30? it kinda repeats as ambience. video cuts and ends there...ah jeez...and the attic is taller than what lucaz remembers it as. they must be near something devious...

SFOTH EXPLORATION TIMELINE (part 2):

Exploration 1: Captured in '4', done on October 23, 2009. Lucas and Zombie explore the eclipsed SFOTH. I assume they both go into the portal in the main area, leading to this maze-like space. They eventually find and fall into a void-like area.

Exploration 2: Captured in '6', done on November 17, 2009, 24 days after Exploration 1. Lucaz and Zombie wander around the regular SFOTH arena before going to the main area with the portal. Cuts after Lucaz goes through the portal. Unsure of what happens after. Chat logs in '7' make reference to something they saw which was vague and unexplainable, but threatening. They conclude that they need to keep exploring.

Exploration 3: Captured in '8', done on November 22, 2009, 5 days after Exploration 2. Potentially a continuation of Exploration 2, but the files' modified dates don't line up to make that consistent. Lucaz and Zombie explore the maze-like area again, eventually finding an area that seems to have an influence tower, but moving past it. Somewhere along the way they find a house. They explore its attic and then the video cuts there.

'9' - Uploaded December 2, 2009, 10 days after '8'. ohhhhh my god they made windows movie maker creepy. ughhghgh i don't like it......john....john you're scaring me :((( the music...the overlapping font...the mysterious images...wonderland.......ughghohmygod........but the main thing in my mind is. when did he LOSE lucas? when did this happen? john goes up the stairs faster than lucas, but...then what? what happened after the cut??? wait i think this gets explained in the next text file. at least a little bit.

agh i wish i knew more about what the images referred to. the first one feels like it could be from a movie. if it is media, then does "everything's blending together now." hold any significance with it's meaning? perhaps i am reading into it too much. and gosh, what a nightmare position to be in...nobody else can understand. they were probably one of the first people to encounter the influence in roblox. outside of that it was only discussed on niche forums. the readme existed by this point..."don't find me killer". this video was possible for killer to find. it's edited like some of john's others, so maybe vance could have found it on his channel. or maybe he was sent it personally. bro john really saw lucas succumb to the horrors and went "i'm gonna make the CRAZIEST movie maker edit of this". kidding, of course, but it is a funny mental image X].

image of constellations. the stars... do those ones in particular have any bigger significance? oh no yeah. greek mythology - apollo sends a crow (corvus) to get water, it comes back late and blames it's tardiness on a snake (hydra). apollo sees through the accusation and casts the crow, snake, and cup (crater) into the sky. dunno what associations you could make, but it's neat that it holds some meaning!

"i heard it too" could be continuing the heartbeat motif. "you're there" - still in the game? then he saw lucas' wonderland dream, probably at some point between this and '8'. the point of no return. where they both couldn't breathe. though i suppose he'd be on the other side of the experience, as described by lucas in SpiralingDreams. does he know about the other stuff in the file, or just the dream itself? how does he know it was his? maybe just because he existed within it. or maybe lucas told him about it. also 'wonderland'... drawing from the noteworthy alice, perhaps? then that also makes me wonder how he visualized lucas. same thoughts as when i discussed this in the SpiralingDreams section.

then the computer screen...i feel like that could be his setup i guess. "i was staring AT the blank screen and swore i saw light but it was just my reflection" from lucas in SpiralingDreams. these two entries feel connected in some ways. the picture makes me think of that. maybe it was realer than he thought. or maybe this is yet another abstract real world interpretation of their mental effects.

i have no idea of what to make of the scripture-like heart sketches- HEART. OF COURSE. it's interesting too that the "i" is cut out in "i will find you lucas". could be negligible but it kinda gives off vibes of "lucas will find you" instead. like a reanimated form. john won't come get lucas, lucas will come get john. it's like john has to try and make sense of this absurd situation by assuring himself about the more realistic stuff, like how vance will take charge of anti-night. he seems almost frantic. it feels like he thinks he needs to save lucas. and i suppose he kinda does depending on how you view it. then...nothing. cut and dry message, i suppose. very unsettling! things seem to have REALLY escalated after 8. i am quite scared!

~TEXT FILES 3~

hesgone - written on december 19, 2009, 17 days after '9'. by zombie, surely. "not forgetting the stairs / why did he go the other way" - seeming to reflect on the end of '8'. perhaps lucaz suddenly went elsewhere and that's how they got seperated. i wonder if zombie was exploring the game while typing this. idk. no wait yeah, "i heard it again," like in-game. the beat, yet again. i suppose this would be like an exploration 4. NO WAIT YEAH - exploration 4 starts on the 19th and likely ends on the 20th with video '10'.

he's recording his audio...either internal or external? did he have recorded footage of him exploring at this time? it seems like recording '10' takes place later on. maybe it was just audio. or maybe it just went unarchived.

"WHY CANT I REMEMBER IT" - zombie's lines from '6' follow that. maybe he can't remember what lucaz said then? or maybe right before he lost him. his desperation is something which is so contrary to how he usually acts, it's such a good out-of-character development, though i can't imagine what it was like for him in the days between roblox discoveries. bro must've been losing his MIND while in school and wherever else. the temperamental contrast makes sense too; it's an extreme reaction to an extreme situation. it develops zombie and by extension lucaz in a very compelling way. let's hope he finds him!

DiscoveryOfThe: written on december 20, 2009, like 3 hours after 'hesgone'. takes place nearly RIGHT before '10'. bro's been at it for a while. he's following the beat, likely just the same as lucaz was. so he also seems to be recording text, like his thoughts and stuff. maybe this and 'hesgone' were in game chatlogs? stuff like "do you see me typing / can you hear me talking to you" feels kind of evident of that. but then dude, that last bit...maybe this is like a transcript of spoken words. but that's crazy, how did he think that would work? i guess he feels something so strong it goes beyond their digital communication. no wait i'm silly he says "cant think to type anymore" this may be a chat log or even just a seperate note page thing. chat log feels most likely to me. but "saving and closing no more" makes it more complicated...but maybe their interactions also transcend roblox by now. it feels both directed towards himself and towards lucaz. maybe it's bits of both personal notes and chat logs. i dunno, i guess it doesn't matter that much. "grabbing recorder" makes me think of an audio recorder again, or by the end of this he pulls out his video recorder and that's where we get video '10'. him constantly assuring lucaz about rescuing him and trying his hardest to get something, anything from him...duuude it hurts :[. oh well. let's check out '10'.

~VIDEOS (just '10')~

'10' - uploaded december 20, 2009 ~30 minutes after 'DiscoveryOfThe'. (wait, discovery of the what? actually probably shown in the video y'know. surely...). continuation of exploration 4.

first shown the stars. then some dark but probably real world footage - THE COMPUTER. VIDEO 8. nice setup zombie! i assume. i wonder if i should try brightening up the footage.

speaking of brightened footage, TREES!! REAL WORLD TREES!! BEAUTIFUL TREES!!! well, just the one i guess. i have NO idea what it could mean! i could always speculate, but i'll save it for now.

unsettling white lines on black background (trust me bro they're unsettling) then...zombie!!! alone, for the first time in one of these videos. still searching, like he has been for hours, likely days.

"CAN'T SPELL ANYMORE" me too king. but an interesting side effect. could be from getting closer, could be from the classic just losing his mind and lack of sleep in general. oh, and the void again! maybe this is where lucaz ended up going...

"third time now / or wa sit / second" - i assume second based on our timeline, but maybe he's gone back to this and just hasn't recorded. i don't know zombie, don't ask me!!! if lucas also heard something where he went, it's likely he fell back into the void. makes me wonder how they left the first time...

FIRST VIDEO CUT: (02:34) - honestly it more transitions into...something. star imagery in the beginning, kinda like the first time. the second half feels like it's filmed from a camera, just based on the way the screen moves. though it's not like you can really make out anything. kinda harsh and unsettling noise accompanies it. abruptly cuts back to zombie on a bridge.

based on zombie saying "I HEAR IT," maybe they experience something similar to what we do when seeing the footage. it could've been tampered with in who knows what ways, but maybe in a way that reflects on their experiences.

"its / closer" whooo boy yep with the actual screen shaking maybe this is akin to zombie's actual experience.

"yes i hear you" DUUUUDE...is it like, his voice?? duuuuude.......and it's likely just an impersonation by the influence, like how they do it with ace for dragon. but by now zombie is too absorbed in his desperation to think about there being any difference between the two.

SECOND VIDEO CUT: (04:03) - very abrupt cut to dark then cut back to gameplay. don't know how much time passed but perhaps a decent bit. chat and location is completely different.

zombie is now being "guided" by "lucaz", where for the longest time he was searching with no answers. the beat is stronger...the closer he gets to lucaz, the closer he gets to the heart of the influence. the screen seems to distort more whenever he struggles to hear lucaz. there seems to be an urgency with his directions. lure him straight into the trap as quickly as possible, with no chance of escape. nothing but the straight road ahead and the tiniest potential of salvation to drive him forward.

i don't know if the place he ends up in is similar to the influence tower area in exploration 3, but it was just a thought in my head. also i tried for a little while to see if what zombie says, something along the lines of "indoi hatnckuf jihgweitohf" was a code or anything, but it could just be gibberish based on what he says about his fingers being numb.

"freezingggggg" it's cold. the heartbeat. the tower. the signs are all here. i presume he's looking at a big influence tower or something like that at the end. and then...

just so totally overwhelming at the end. and it's definitely tenfold for zombie, who'd be experiencing it fully. the shapes kinda seem like eyes? and gosh, i just know that's lucaz's avatar at one point. it could be zombie's own avatar, but i mean...we know who he was searching for. the head seems a little bulbous in the middle, which actually seems a bit different than what their avatars heads are shaped like. perhaps it is a secret third option?? but eh, i really feel like it's supposed to be lucaz. would be satisfying for the narrative. i wonder if what ace experienced was similar to zombie's eclipsing. i can only assume so. wonder if ace saw anyone, and who it might've been...

then...the heartbeat. then nothing at all.

~ FULL SFOTH EXPLORATION TIMELINE~

Exploration 4: Captured in '10', also captured in the textfiles "hesgone" and "DiscoveryOfThe", done on December 19th-20th, 28 Days after Exploration 3. After Exploration 3, Zombie somehow lost contact with Lucaz. It can be stringed together that Lucaz likely left the house and went back to the void the two first encountered in Exploration 1. Zombie goes to try and find Lucaz, eventually heading back to that void area. Before then, Zombie is repeatedly trying to signal his presence to Lucaz, but isn't getting much feedback from him. After this point though, Lucaz seems to be directly guiding Zombie towards him. Zombie navigates more maze-like structures until finally getting to this large area which feels reminiscent of the influence tower area in Exploration 3 (to me, at least). Actually, it seems much bigger. It's probably somewhere different. Zombie eventually finds his way to this gigantic structure, likely resembling the influence tower. From here, we get a visualizer on what Zombie probably experienced when getting eclipsed. This is the end of the founder's expedition.

~CONCLUSION~

merry christmas 2009 killermastez!!

dude i'm sad now. big time bummer y'know. but SO incredibly compelling!!!!! what a cool way to tell such a tragic tale!!! zombie and lucaz are probably even MORE ingrained into my mind now!!! the recallahollowheart fixation is in full swing!!!!! but this is probably the end of their story. sigh...well, the fandom can make things. i have some fanart ideas :]

recallahollowheart is SO cool and i'm really excited to see what'll happen next!!! i care a lot about the dragondudes3 productions group and the anti-night group too!!! it's all so interesting and the characters are so, like, characterized...amazing effort put into everything!!!!! i love creations!!!!!!!!!!

this is probably even longer than my part 1 post, so i hope it was easy enough to navigate and just as interesting!! i hope my wording was easy enough to understand and that my analysis was also interesting!!! have a lovely time wherever you are, comment if you have anything to add. idk what i'll do next...i'm gonna be rather busy for a little bit but maybe i'll get up to some fanart stuff and finally start posting my art online :^]. till then, have a good one!!!
