STORYTELLING
Peter Mitchell worked as a truck driver in Leeds in the 1970s, photographing the city during his rounds. These fascinating portraits of factories and small shop owners in Yorkshire and London are found on his website Strangely Familiar

The El Cosmico Offers a Different Experience
Located deep into the high plains desert landscape of remote West Texas is a collection of rooms that may appeal to a writer, hiker or someone on the run. Referred to as El Cosmico, this desert retreat in Marfa offers plenty of recreational activities but it is the accommodations that intrigue.
They are renovated trailers, safari and scout tents, Souix-style teepees, and Mongolian yurts. The complex offers a hammock grove, outdoor kitchen and dining area, community lodge, an outdoor stage, reading room and mercantile. There are also wood-fired hot tubs for romance.
Nightly rates start at $65.00 for the tents up to $500 for the 3800 square foot apartment located above Maiya’s Restaurant in the Brite Building. Check out it and you may agree that the teepees are the coolest. Visit their site.

Time Type
Dehli based street artist, DAKU, has produced a dynamic, time sensitive, public art piece for the St+art Festival in India. Over two months 25 artist from around the globe will transform the colonial Lodhi district into the country’s first public art area.
Local artist, DAKU, who remains anonymous, has produced an inventive installation, ‘Time changes everything’, which connects type with the passing of time by using the moving sunlight to cast ever-changing shadows of words onto a wall.
Over 70 words have been mounted perpendicularly to a building façade to act as sundials. The shadow type sharpens into focus in the mornings revealing english words such as; Identity, Religion, Perception. This shadows stretch and yaw across the façade to later fade away as the light dims in the afternoon.
