Here is my re-creation of the original Richard hamilton ‘what makes today so special’ poster.
This is my Inspirations Tshape! The horizontal images are general inspirations, the vertical are product design inspirations. They are all labeled on the left. :)
The process of making wallpaper by hand in 1963
Before mass manufacturing was available, every foot of wallpaper had to be made by hand. A skilled craftsman could produce 800 ft in one day.
The process of making a globe in 1955.
The skill and precision put into creating them is incredible
All these prosthetics belong to singer and amputee Viktoria Modesta who had her left leg amputated for medical reasons. She always wears these creatively decorated prosthetics in her music videos and at concerts, and has even participated in the Paralympic opening ceremony. The prosthetics always represent her personality or aspects of the music she is singing.
This temple in Thailand called Wat Rong Khun, or ‘white temple’ is a replica of the original temple which fell into disrepair. The detail of this building is absolutely incredible and beautifully crafted.
Andrew Neyer’s design series called ‘stuff’ is full of creative designs for everyday use. This design would help remind me to take my keys due to the more creative and interactive design, I also like the bright colour and simple outline shape.
The Panton Chair by Verner Panton, This is such a beautiful and simple design which is also stack-able and extremely comfortable. It is made using injection moulding.
This mug stand uses the centre of mass of the liquid in the cup to stabilise itself. Although I don’t quite see why they don’t use the conveniently placed handle on the mug, I can imagine integrating this into some other design such as a lamp or bookshelf.
I loved these pens as a kid, I really enjoy the incredibly simple design with minimal branding as well as the ability to stick them together and create patterns as well as build them into shapes and objects like a person or boat.
I love the Idea of flexible/adjustable furniture, which does not take up extra space, but allows the user to adapt the object to what is most suitable for their home or environment.
This is by Chinese architect Zhang Ke, What is interesting about this is that the glass is not attached in the conventional method, but is slotted in with the rest of the frame. Also this design creates a very spacious and well lit room inside.
