Way to go Oshimas!
Apple Laptop line up in two years...
With the announcement of the new MacBook Pro line up at WWDC '09, a lot of people are suspecting that Apple is creating room for a low price laptop. I think we will see such a device around Xmas. Its dimensions will be around 10" and it might sit perfectly flush with the current Apple bluetooth aluminum keyboard. It will of course be a tablet with an on screen keyboard just like the iphone. All your iphone apps will be available on this beauty. Expect it to be priced $799. Apple will leverage its huge success with the iphone App store and create a premium product in the netbook category - redefining that category in the process. We will also see a few of the recent Apple patents materialized in this tablet. Those who are not able to buy the new iPhone 3GS should not dispair, because they are better off spending their money on this new device. Stylistically, expect it to be close to MacBook Air. Steve Jobs will be introducing this product, of course! See some intriguing mockups of this device here!
So with the new Mac Tab at the low end of the laptop line up, it is easy to see how the Mac Book and Mac Book Pro will be positioned. It will be interesting to see if Apple does anything revolutionary to the desktop lineup which is looking weaker day by day.
