9- coming back

"I hate living with strangers, I mean the dude is not that bad, but the girl is just getting on my nerves"

"She is living with you?"

"Yeah, she’s always there, Baptiste doesn’t seem to care, so I have to deal with her"

"I don’t think she’s as bitchy as you make her seem, she’s just probably trying to get to know you"

"I have no interest though"

"Well you can’t come back here, so you better start being more friendly"

"I can’t?"

"I have a new roomate now, you’ll have to kick him out"

"Him?"He sat on the bed

"Him what?" She smiled, knowing he was getting jealous

"You have to be kidding me"

"Yeah, well he’s gay so I don’t see the problem"

"…" He lay on the bed again

"What?"

"Are you serious?"

"About having a roomate? Yeah, he’s moving tomorrow"

"He better like boys, then"

She laughed while putting her hand on his leg "Don’t worry" 

He smiled "I’m sleeping here tonight, hope you don’t mind"

"Well there’s only one bed now, since you took all your stuff, but you can sleep on the couch, it’s pretty comfortable"

He closed his eyes "I’m good here, thanks"

"Okay, seems like I’m the one sleeping on the couch" She stood up 

Opening his eyes, he said "What are you so affraid of?"

"Nothing, I’m just being nice and giving you my bed"

"Come back, I’m not gonna try anything"

"I know you’re not" 

"Well then, come"

She climbed into the bed "There, go to sleep now"

"We can at least cuddle"

"You must be kidding" 

"I am, relax" he laughed

"So..." Said Mei

"So?" 

"Who's that girl that has been texting you like everyday since you moved here?"

"No one?"

"No one as 'she's just a stalker' or... no one as 'you don't care stop asking'?"

"You don't care stop asking"

"Is she your girlfriend? That would be a shame considering you seem like such a misogynist"

"Misogynist? What the fuck are you talking about?

"You're gonna tell me you don't hate women and you don't sleep with one every chance you get?"

"You don't know me, so I'd recommend you to stop studying me, it's creeping me out." He stood up and walked towards the door

As he was putting on his jacket Mei asked "Where are you going?"

He laughed "I don't feel like answering you, you might use that information as a part of your misogyny investigation"

"Oh look, you're an asshole too." 

He left, ignoring Mei's last words.

7- meeting mei

"So... this new roommate of yours, is he gonna be a pain in the ass just like the last one?" asked they lady sittting next to Baptiste while he ate 

"Does it seem like I can predict the fucking future?" he took a bite of his food 

"Calm down, jesus, it was just a question" 

"Eat your food before it gets cold" he said with a mouthful

"Well unlike you, I do have manners, I'm waiting for our new guest"

"Hey so I just talked to Isabella, it seems like she's doi--" he stopped talking when he saw Baptiste wasn't waiting alone "Hey...I'm sorry, who are you?"

Baptiste turned around cleaning his mouth with a napkin "Get used to her, she spends quite a lot of time here"

"I'm Mei, one of his ~friends~" 

"I see... I'm George, his roommate" he knew by friend she meant, fuck buddy, but by looking at her, he could tell she liked him more than just a ~friend~

She stood up from the table "Let's sit, shall we?"

"Yeah, yeah sure" Said George while he sat down

6- everything is fine

"Hey" she said

"Hey, so I just finished unpacking and we’re about to eat dinner"

"Oh okay, if you need help just let me know"

"I think I’m good, aside from the fact that it took me an awful amount of time to put everything in order"

"Yeah well I guess that’s what happens when you move"

"I guess so" he paused remembering a call he got earlier from his family "my mom called by the way, she wants us to come over to meet my sister’s new baby"

"Wow already? It seems like yesterday when she was telling us about her pregnancy" 

"I know, it’s crazy"

"When are we supposed to leave?"

"Next weekend"

"Sounds good."

He heard Baptiste calling him "Seems like dinner's ready, I’ll talk to you tomorrow"

"Sure, bon appétit!"

"Thanks… madame?"

She laughed “Bye jerk” she put her phone down, took a deep breath, and went to the kitchen to get the last slice of pizza that was left from last night.

5- new home

"Thanks for letting me stay here man" said George as he sat down in a pile of boxes he had brought from his previous home

"No problem, I needed the extra cash anyway" he lit a cigarette

4- the goodbye

He saw her standing there in his room, looking at him while he packed his last belongings, he could tell she was sad, they were so used to each other that they couldn't imagine how it was going to be from now on.

He walked towards her "You okay?"

"so, your new roommate, he's waiting for you downstairs?"

"Yeah you should go say hi"

"I should" she was staring at her shoes, the thought of living alone was scaring her, or that's what she wanted to think, admitting she didn't wanna live without him was too hard

"Hey look at me" 

"What?" 

He grabbed her chin "Are you okay with this?" 

She pushed his hand away "Does it seem like I'm not?"

"I just want you to say something, you've been awfully quiet lately and I don't really know how you feel about this"

She gave him half a smile and stroke his cheek "I'm happy if you're happy" 

"George are you ready, mate? It's late" They heard a voice from downstair calling for Geo, it was Baptiste, his new roommate who was extremely desperate to go back home and have a skype date with his british girlfriend 

"This is it" they laughed 

"I love you okay, call me when you get there" she hugged him

He gave her a kiss on the head before pulling away "I love you too, don't have too much fun without me"

3- forgetting

"How was your day?" He asked her as she was sitting down in front of him 

"Tiring, I've had better ones, but I can't complain, I passed my microeconomics class"

"Good to hear... fancy a smoke?"

"I thought you didn't like weed?"

"I bought some for you, I know you like it"

She smiled "thanks, that's actually quite nice, maybe later yeah?" 

"What would you say if I tell you that I'm looking for an apartment to move?"

"You want to move out?" She knew what he meant, she knew he wanted to leave and that was ok, after all everyone leaves right? 

"I don't want to, trust me, you are home to me, but me wanting to grab you and tell you how much I want you everytime I see you is not good for us, I need to move on and forget what happened"

"I'm sorry" 

"It's not your fault Isabella, we both did something we shouldn't have done and now we're facing the consequences, I just need to be alone for a while"

"I'm gonna miss your ugly face, I wish you didn't have to move" she faked a frown while lying down next to him 

He started playing with her hair "And I'm gonna miss your home made quiche" he said while laughing "Fuck, I'm really gonna miss it"

"Liar! You said it tasted like shit" she hit him on the arm

"No I didn't, I said it tasted like something that had just come out of a butthole"

"Whatever, it's the same thing" She closed her eyes "Can you keep playing with my hair until I fall sleep?"

He smiled and did as he was told

2- 

A picture I found on my mother's room after they had died was all I had left from my parents, I didn't get the chance to actually get to know them, learn my mom's favorite meals, my dad's favorite books, I didn't meat their friends, I didn't get to ask my father how much it took him to graduate from college or how many countries he visited. Sometimes I wonder if the decisions I took or the mistakes I made would have been different if they were still here, I wonder how unconditionally love feels like, to love someone to such an extent that I would give my life for them and I blame them, because they left me, they left me and didn't take me with them, I was left alone with some many questions unanswered, and I wonder what could  I have done differently? ... I always wonder, and I'll keep wondering until I get answers

1- the girl he can't have 

"Don't you find this kind of unfortunate?" Geo said while examinating his cousin's body

"What do you mean unfortunate?" She could feel his piercing eyes going up and down, the awkwardness of the situation made her want to leave the room but at the same time there was something about him that kept her intrigued 

"Us living together and not being able to touch... I mean, look at each other a certain way because we're family?" 

She saw it coming, she knew they both liked each other but like he said, they are family and as much as she wanted him more than a cousin she couldn't agree with him "You should go to bed, it's already 3 in the morning and I can tell you've been drinking" 

He got up and stood still in front of her "I went to a bar tonight with the guys, we were-" he laughed "-this is probably gonna sound funny- we were on a mission to see who could fuck the hottest girl there, and I just couldn't do it"

"Why?" Those words came out of her mouth without her even realizing, she just wanted to hear him say it, that it was because of her, because he cared about her even though he couldn't have her

"I don't know, this time it was different, it just didn't feel right"

"Different how? You've been sleeping with all kinds of girls this summer and you didn't seem to have a problem with that"

"Maybe I was trying to get my mind off something, or someone as you might already know"

She turned away, walking out of his room "Maybe you should go back to hooking up with random girls" she said as she closed the door

"Fuck you too" he grabbed his phone and dialed a number "Posy, darling, do you wanna come over?"
